Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 660: Chapter 536 The Wonders of Mystical Mechanism

As November arrived, both the armaments from the Ministry of War and the money and grain from the Ministry of Revenue reached Zhao Wu Guard successively, and the construction of the temporary port and campgrounds were essentially complete. Although the port could only dock a part of the warships, it was sufficient to cope with the current situation.

On this day, Luo Jingsong brought Lv Xinghe to Zhao Wu Guard.

After paying his respects in the study, Yang Zhenshan did not talk much with him but led him out of the government office.

The three rode horses to the training ground on the coast. Looking at the soldiers who were undergoing training, Yang Zhenshan asked, ”What do you see?”

Lv Xinghe was stunned for a moment, ”Da Rong’s military might!”

Yang Zhenshan shook his head slightly, ”A mere rabble!”

”A mere rabble!” Lv Xinghe revealed a puzzled expression.

The soldiers in front of him were from the Nine Rivers Five Guards, most of whom had already received more than ten days of training, marching in neat formations, their fighting spirit high, looking like a well-trained force.

In comparison, the Four Flag Army of the Star Moon Sect were the real rabble.

Yang Zhenshan ignored his puzzlement and continued, ”If old man had one year’s time, old man could turn them into a truly elite force!”

”Unfortunately, old man cannot wait that long.”

Lv Xinghe did not understand what Yang Zhenshan meant by all this and could only listen quietly.

”You should be glad that old man can’t wait a year, otherwise you wouldn’t even have the chance to surrender!”

Yang Zhenshan glanced at him, ”The Four Flag Army has already been wiped out by two, and with the remaining two plus a group of pirates that don’t even count as a mere rabble, old man really doesn’t take them seriously.”

”If old man didn’t want to avoid too many casualties, old man could now take them to Star Moon Island.”

”Old man believes that even now they would be able to defeat Star Moon Island!”

Lv Xinghe continued to remain silent, although he felt uncomfortable, he couldn’t refute Yang Zhenshan.

As Yang Zhenshan spoke, he rode his horse to the port, ”If all goes well, this place should not be dismantled in the future, old man will suggest to Your Majesty to retain the establishment of the Four Seas Navy.”

”In the future, Da Rong will possess a powerful Navy, and all forces in the entire East South Sea Domain will live in the shadow of Da Rong!”

Looking at the warships, Lv Xinghe’s thoughts sank slightly.

Retaining the establishment of the Four Seas Navy, this was not good news for all forces in the East South Sea Domain.

Once Da Rong started emphasizing naval power, without a doubt, Da Rong would become the supreme maritime power.

After staying at the port for a moment, Yang Zhenshan then took Lv Xinghe back to the government office.

”Your time is running out, old man hopes that you can make a decision quickly! It’s best if you can assist old man, otherwise, you will only accompany the Star Moon Sect to its burial!”

”I understand, I will try to persuade my mother as soon as possible!” Lv Xinghe said in a deep voice.

Before he had come, he had held some hope, but after seeing Yang Zhenshan, he realized there was only one chance.

Yang Zhenshan smiled, ”Alright then, old man won’t detain you any longer!”

...

After Lv Xinghe left, Yang Zhenshan began to prepare for the upcoming battle.

Now it was November, and if he was quick, he might still be able to return to the Capital City for the New Year celebrations.

As time went on, the situation of the Four Seas Navy gradually got on track, whatever campgrounds and ports needed to be built were still under construction, whatever soldiers needed to be trained were still in training, and whatever corrupt officials needed to be investigated were still being pursued.

Speaking of the corruption investigation, Sun Yunfeng was truly ruthless, he practically cleaned out the whole Governor’s Office of Fuhai Province.

A Capital Commander, two Commander Deputies, and three Deputy Commanders, all of them had been investigated by him.

Even many of the lower-level officials within the Governor’s Office were taken down by him, more than half of them.

With his actions, the Governor’s Office of Fuhai Province had almost become an empty shell.

”You really don’t hold back at all!”

In the study, Yang Zhenshan, somewhat amused, spoke to Sun Yunfeng.

”The subordinate is rash, and I have caused trouble for Marquis!” Sun Yunfeng said with a somewhat embarrassed smile.

Recently he had developed a condition, an addiction to investigating corrupt officials.

If it wasn’t for Yang Zhenshan only allowing him to investigate the Governor’s Office, he might have gone through the entire Three Divisions Office.

These corrupt officials were too easy to investigate, it was almost certain with each one checked, no specific search for evidence was required, casual inquiries would produce a whole basket of proofs.

”It’s not old man who’s bothered, but the Ministry of War and the Governor’s Mansion! Heh, you’re making them look bad!” Yang Zhenshan said indifferently.

Now in Da Rong, nine out of ten officials were corrupt, and the remaining one probably had just taken office and hadn’t had the chance to be corrupt.

Fuhai Province aside, even in Chongshan Town, if a corruption probe were carried out, a whole bunch could be found.

Hmm, in the past, Yang Zhenshan himself was also considered a corrupt official, engaged in collusion between officials and merchants, taking kickbacks and the like, all of which Yang Zhenshan had done.

However, Yang Zhenshan had his own bottom line, even if he was scraping up silver, he wouldn’t take it from the hands of the poor and suffering people.

But other corrupt officials were different, they were truly bringing disaster upon people.

”Please Marquis take care of the subordinate!” Sun Yunfeng requested.

Yang Zhenshan smiled and then opened the memorial in front of him, sealing it with his own Marquis seal.

How to take care of Sun Yunfeng?

Naturally, it was to help Sun Yunfeng shoulder this matter!

Such a bold initiative to investigate corrupt officials, Sun Yunfeng alone definitely could not bear it, and as for whether Yang Zhenshan could bear it.

Heh~~

Anyway, Yang Zhenshan now had so many debts he couldn’t worry, and with so many lice, he wasn’t afraid of itching.

He guessed that there were quite a few people in the court with objections to him at this time.

The dignitaries of the Ministry of War and the Ministry of Revenue were definitely secretly cursing him.

And in fact, this was indeed the case; recently in the Capital City court, there had been quite a few voices against Yang Zhenshan.
