Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 662: Chapter 537 - Before the Great Battle

After finishing the chitchat, Yang Zhenshan walked into the main hall, and An Yuxing also jumped down from the wall.

”When do you plan to set out?”

”After a bit more time!”

”How much longer is a bit more time?” An Yuxing asked.

”Next month? How come, can’t you wait any longer?” Yang Zhenshan said casually while washing up.

An Yuxing looked at the clear sky outside and shook his head slightly, ”The wind and rain here are too heavy, I’m not used to living here!”

”Haha~~”

Yang Zhenshan burst into laughter.

The climate here in the Zhao Wu Guard is indeed very different from that in the Capital City. In November, it’s already snowing in the Capital City, but it’s still somewhat muggy here in the Zhao Wu Guard.

”All things between heaven and earth can enter the Tao, and changes in the wind and clouds can also lead to enlightenment!”

Yang Zhenshan said casually.

An Yuxing was startled, ”Changes in the wind and clouds can also lead to enlightenment?”

He looked at the clouds gradually clearing in the sky, ”Can the rainy weather also lead to enlightenment?”

Seeing him in a daze, Yang Zhenshan didn’t bother with him and ate his breakfast on his own.

The breakfast was prepared by his Personal Followers, a large bowl of rice, with dried meat, green vegetables, pickled vegetables, etc. It wasn’t lavish, but having meat and vegetables was also quite good.

While he was eating, An Yuxing’s figure suddenly leaped out, landing again on the wall.

His wine gourd was thrown in the air, spilling wine, then he leaped up and caught the wine gourd as it fell.

Falling with him was a shower of arrows, hitting the uneven ground and splattering mud and water.

”Old man, don’t wreck my yard!” Yang Zhenshan shouted in displeasure.

An Yuxing laughed loudly, ”You’re right, changes in the wind and clouds can also lead to enlightenment!”

”Eh, what did you realize?” Yang Zhenshan asked in surprise.

He had just said it casually, although he felt the sentence was correct, he didn’t think one could actually realize anything from it.

”I didn’t realize anything specific, just some novel discoveries!” An Yuxing said with a broad smile.

”Really!”

Yang Zhenshan felt that this old man was somewhat different today, but he couldn’t quite pinpoint how.

”Indescribable, unfathomable, and unthinkable, but perhaps this is an opportunity, in any case, it’s some sort of gain!” An Yuxing tilted his head back and gulped down a mouthful of liquor, saying carefreely.

Yang Zhenshan finished all the rice in his bowl and felt too lazy to talk more with this old man.

This old man always liked to be mysterious, often saying things that didn’t make sense.

Actually, it wasn’t exactly nonsensical, because for those in the Innate Realm, some things are indeed indescribable and unfathomable, all depending on personal comprehension.

Yang Zhenshan didn’t want to bother with An Yuxing, but An Yuxing still said: ”Have you practiced walking on water?”

”No!”

”Then you should practice it, especially since you’ll be fighting at sea next!” An Yuxing said.

Yang Zhenshan thought about it and agreed, ”Then I’ll practice when I find time!”

Walking on water, as the name suggests, is about walking on water, but it’s not just about walking on water, it’s also about various techniques and methods for fighting in water.

How to move quickly underwater, how to walk on water, how to fight in water, etc.

Innate Martial Artists have long-lasting breath and can easily hold their breath underwater for an hour, but fighting underwater involves many techniques.

As for walking on water, it’s not as difficult as imagined; Postnatal Martial Artists can skim over water, and Innate Martial Artists can stand on water for a long time.

This is nothing more than the application of Innate True Qi.

As long as one reaches the level of controlling Qi, Innate Martial Artists can stand on water for a long time.

Yang Zhenshan had never fought in water before, so he had not practiced these techniques.

With An Yuxing’s reminder, after finishing breakfast, Yang Zhenshan went to the seaside to start practicing.

What he practiced was not how to walk on water, since that was easy for him, but rather how to walk on water more efficiently.

On the sea surface, Yang Zhenshan ran non-stop as if on flat ground, sometimes darting up, sometimes diving, and moments later, suddenly leaping out of the water.

At first, he was just darting and diving in the sea, but later he even wore the Light Armor and held the Mystical Iron Spear, darting and diving in the sea.

The Mystical Iron Spear weighed 138 pounds, and the Light Armor weighed 143 pounds, combining to almost twice Yang Zhenshan’s body weight.

Bearing such heavy armaments, it was much more tiring for Yang Zhenshan to enter and walk on water, mainly because the consumption of Innate True Qi would increase manifold.

Fortunately, Yang Zhenshan’s Innate True Qi was now very robust, so he could afford the expenditure.

And time slowly passed during Yang Zhenshan’s practice, and before he knew it, it was mid-December.

The basic training of the Jiangsu Navy was completed, and the Four Seas Navy had conducted cooperative training several times. Although there were many flaws, it was barely ready for sea battle.

Approaching the festival period, Yang Zhenshan didn’t plan to continue dragging it out.

December 12th.

Yang Zhenshan gathered his generals by beating the drum inside the government office of Zhao Wu Guard.

Deputy Prime Minister Yu Tonghai, Bai Yuanxi, Camp Officer Xue Chang’an, Assistant General Guerrillas Qian Manyi, Zhang Man, Wu Kai, and others gathered together.

Except for Xue Ping who was still stationed on Dongyang Island, all the naval generals of the Four Seas Navy were assembled.

The government office hall couldn’t accommodate so many people, so Yang Zhenshan held the meeting in the courtyard.

Looking at all the generals, Yang Zhenshan stood tall and imposing.

”The time is almost right, we should head into battle! If we delay further, those old officials in the Capital City will probably start pressing us!”

Yang Zhenshan said with a smile.

Everyone burst into laughter.

The Four Seas Navy is now a gold-devouring behemoth, having consumed over 1.2 million taels of silver, over a hundred thousand shi of grain and fodder, and many armaments and warships in just three months.
