I Married the President

Chapter 345: Chapter 345: Boyfriend... Is His Last Name Qi?

Claire Sinclair said a bit awkwardly, ”Hello, I’d like to buy a watch.”

The sales associate stared at her devastatingly beautiful face and couldn’t help but swoon. ”Claire Sinclair, you’re even prettier than you look on TV! I was right to be your fan!”

Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow. ”Um... I’m here to buy a watch.”

The sales associate gave a dry cough. ”Ahem, my apologies, Reporter Sinclair. What type of watch are you looking for? We have economical models, practical ones, or a combination of both.”

”I want something waterproof and shock-resistant.”

”Our store is an authorized direct retailer for the TY brand. The lowest price is likely to be over 30,000. Is that price range acceptable to you?”

Suddenly, a voice cut in. ”How could 30,000 be worthy of Miss Sinclair’s status? It has to be at least 100,000.”

Claire Sinclair instinctively glanced back and saw Ethan Kingsley swaggering in from the entrance, carrying the air of a rich playboy.

The sales associate was on the verge of calling out ”Boss,” but a look from Ethan Kingsley stopped her.

Ethan Kingsley walked up beside Claire Sinclair, his gaze casually sweeping over the ladies’ designer watches in the glass counter. He finally pointed to a small, delicate, silver-gray watch with a round face and said, ”This one should suit you.”

Claire Sinclair’s eyes followed his finger. Without giving it much thought, she shook her head. ”It’s too small. I want a bigger one.”

”A bigger one?” Ethan Kingsley’s gaze involuntarily fell on her slender wrist. ”It might not look that great on you, you know.”

Claire Sinclair was unfazed. ”I want a bigger one. And I’m buying a pair.”

Ethan Kingsley teased, ”Buying a pair? Who’s the other one for?”

Claire Sinclair had no intention of answering that question. Her gaze swept back and forth over the watches in the glass counter, finally settling on a medium-sized, round-faced model.

”Let me see that one.”

The sales associate immediately took the watch out.

Claire Sinclair flipped the watch over, gave the back a quick look, and then said with satisfaction, ”This is the one. I’ll take two.”

The sales associate looked at Claire Sinclair, then at Ethan Kingsley.

Ethan Kingsley gave a slight nod, and only then did the sales associate say, ”This model is our TY brand’s latest release for this year. The price is a little steep—230,000 each.”

Claire Sinclair silently took out her bank card. ”I’ll pay by card.”

Ethan Kingsley couldn’t resist asking, ”Claire Sinclair, you’re not buying them for yourself?”

”Is that any of your business?” Claire Sinclair retorted.

Ethan Kingsley chuckled. ”If you’re buying them for yourself, I can give you a 50% discount. But if you’re buying them as a gift for someone, it’ll have to be full price.”

’Damn it, so this guy owns the store!’

Ethan Kingsley added, ”It’s true that I run the store, but I’m just the agent, not the actual owner.”

’That made sense.’ The TY brand was a foreign luxury brand, very selective about its domestic agents. An ordinary investor would have a hard time securing the distribution rights, but for a tycoon like Ethan Kingsley, it was a piece of cake.

The last thing Claire Sinclair wanted was to spend money on luxury goods; if she could save some, she would. So she changed her tune and said, ”One is for me, and the other is a gift for my boyfriend.”

”Boyfriend... Is his surname Quincy?”

Claire Sinclair furrowed her brow slightly but didn’t reply.

’How does he know?’

’Of course. This guy is also a presidential candidate, so he must have done his homework on Adrian Quincy. But it seems he doesn’t know that she and Adrian are already legally married.’

Seeing her silence, Ethan Kingsley took it as a confirmation. Besides, he already knew the answer. He smiled and said, ”Consider it a small gift from me to Mr. Quincy. I’ll give you the 50% discount. When you go back, tell him that when he has a free day, he should sit down with me to discuss the art of governing.”
