I Married the President

Chapter 330: Chapter 330: Do You Have to Bully People Like This?

’Damn it, am I an idiot?’

’I have a press pass!’

Claire Sinclair pulled the press pass she had just received today from her bag and turned back to the manor’s gate.

”Hello, I’m Claire Sinclair, a reporter from the Astoria Daily. I’d like to request an interview with Mr. Quincy.”

The guard frowned, took the press pass from her hand to look it over, then stepped down from the platform. ”Wait here. I’ll go report this.”

The guard jogged into the guardhouse with her press pass and quickly ran back out. He handed the pass back with both hands. ”Miss Sinclair, please come in!”

Although his tone was still gruff, his attitude now held a hint of respect.

Claire Sinclair let out a soft sigh of relief. She had never imagined that she could walk into Quincy Manor openly and on her own merit.

’Heh... It feels pretty good to be respected like this.’

This was the first time in her life that Claire Sinclair had ever felt even a little bit superior, and it made her all the more eager to stand before him.

Unfortunately, when she reached his office door, she was stopped outside yet again.

The two men guarding the door were also new faces who didn’t recognize Claire Sinclair. However, they were polite enough, telling her to wait in the main hall as an important meeting was in progress inside.

Claire Sinclair had no choice but to return to the main hall. She found herself drawn to the spot beneath the eagle statue, craning her neck to look up at the bird with its wings spread in flight.

An image of his towering figure standing beneath the eagle surfaced in her mind. His sharp, hawk-like eyes overlapped with the statue’s, like a beacon of justice shining in the dark of night, filling her with a sense of longing.

’If this path ultimately leads to the light, then where can I possibly hide?’

’Claire Sinclair, don’t shrink back anymore!’

Once courage makes an appearance, it’s hard to force it back down.

Claire Sinclair swore a silent oath to the eagle: ’I will become an eagle, too!’

She impulsively took out her phone, opened the camera app, and decided to make a resolution for herself here beneath the eagle.

She switched to the video function and, with a hint of shyness, spoke to the camera, ”Today is November 3rd, 20XX. I hope that on November 3rd of next year, I can stand by his side, admired by the world—”

Before she could finish, a sharp shout came from behind her. ”What are you doing? Filming is forbidden in the manor!”

Claire Sinclair jumped in fright and quickly put her phone away, saying sheepishly, ”I’m sorry, I didn’t know filming wasn’t allowed.”

She looked up and saw another unfamiliar face.

’That’s strange. Why does it feel like Quincy Manor has a whole new staff?’

The one who had just spoken was a man in uniform, followed by a patrol team. The expressions on all their faces were extremely severe.

The patrol leader said expressionlessly, ”Hand over the phone.”

Claire Sinclair hesitated, then asked weakly, ”Can I just delete the video?”

”Hand over the phone!” the patrol leader barked, startling Claire Sinclair again.

Her hand trembled, and the phone slipped from her grasp, falling to the floor.

Claire Sinclair instinctively bent down to pick it up, but a brightly polished leather shoe suddenly stepped forward, pinning the phone to the floor.

Claire Sinclair’s brow furrowed slightly. She looked up at the patrol leader’s arrogant face and said in a low voice, ”Sir, you don’t have to bully people like this, do you?”

”Cut the crap. The rules say the phone is confiscated.” With that, the patrol leader kicked her phone to the side and ordered someone to pick it up.

Claire Sinclair bit her lower lip and said nothing, silently standing back up.

The patrol leader took the phone and turned to leave.

Claire Sinclair called out, ”Hey, where are you taking my phone?”
