I Married the President

Chapter 318: Chapter 318: Very Satisfied With His Efficiency

A booming voice echoed through the air, startling Claire Sinclair.

Aiden Howkins jogged up to her. ”Young Madam, the squad has assembled. Awaiting your orders!”

Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow. ”I didn’t call you here to go to war. Relax.”

Aiden Howkins immediately shouted, ”At ease!”

The squad immediately assumed the ”at ease” stance.

Claire Sinclair sighed helplessly. ’Oh, whatever. As long as they’re happy.’

”I found the person who sent me the threatening letter. She’s just a high school dropout. I need you to go teach her a lesson.”

Aiden Howkins looked troubled. ”Young Madam, I’m not sure about this. Young Master Quincy doesn’t allow us to administer vigilante justice.”

Claire Sinclair explained, ”When I say ’teach her a lesson,’ I don’t mean you should beat her up. I just want you to scare her a little. Make her understand that there are consequences for doing wrong, and that breaking the law means going to jail.”

”Alright, I know what to do. Young Madam, what’s the address?”

”234 Apricot Hill Road. Her name is Louise Hartwell.”

”Will you be coming with us, Young Madam?”

”It wouldn’t be as effective if I went. You guys go ahead. Just let me know when it’s done, and when you get back, I’ll have Mr. Quincy treat you all to a meal.”

At this, everyone cheered up.

”Did you all hear that? Young Master Quincy is treating us to a meal! So look sharp and let’s get this job done perfectly!”

”Haha... We heard! Thanks, sis!”

”Attention! Right face... Move out!”

The squad got into their vehicle, which then slowly pulled away.

Claire Sinclair watched the vehicle depart and was about to leave herself when a familiar voice suddenly called out from behind her, ”Claire.”

Claire Sinclair’s heart skipped a beat. She instinctively turned to face the speaker.

Adrian Quincy walked up to her, standing face-to-face, and extended a sincere invitation. ”Claire, since you’re already here, why not come in and sit for a while?”

Claire Sinclair’s first instinct was to refuse, but then she remembered she had just asked Aiden Howkins and his men for a favor. Steeling herself, she agreed.

”Alright.”

”Follow me.”

Adrian Quincy took her small hand and led her into the mansion.

’It seems like it’s been a while since I was last in his office.’ It was the same as ever—spotless and tidy, much like his own disposition. The atmosphere was solemn and chilly.

Adrian Quincy guided her into a chair, then took a seat opposite her. He said in a low voice, ”I spent all day preparing. The hearing is tomorrow. Afterward, Yara will be sent to prison.”

”That quickly?”

Claire Sinclair was extremely satisfied with his efficiency!!!

Adrian Quincy nodded lightly. ”After it’s over tomorrow, do you want to go see Yara?”

”There’s nothing to see. I’m not interested.”

”You don’t have anything you want to say to her?”

Claire Sinclair paused. ’If I said no... well, it feels like I’d regret not saying *something* to her. Fine, I’ll go say a few words to that woman.’

”Alright then. After it’s over tomorrow, I’ll go see her. What about you? Are you coming with me?”

”Mhm,” Adrian Quincy nodded.

”Your family will be there too, right?”

Adrian Quincy nodded again.

”Perfect...” Claire Sinclair muttered under her breath. ’If his whole family is there, I can ask him for a divorce right in front of them.’

’Heh heh... I’m finally going to be free.’

Adrian Quincy’s brow furrowed slightly. ”Claire, what are you muttering about?”

”Nothing. If there’s nothing else, I think I’ll head back now.”

”Claire...” The man’s eyes were filled with pleading.

Claire Sinclair desperately wanted to be heartless and leave, but then she thought about how she would be divorcing him tomorrow. After that, she had no idea when she would ever see him again.

’Maybe...’

’I should just treat tonight as a final farewell party, a last hurrah?’
