I Married the President

Chapter 342: Chapter 342: A Date Is Better Than Sick Leave

It was like the symbolic eagle at Quincy Manor—if this path ultimately led to the light, then there was no use in her running away.

His love, his affection, everything about him... She couldn’t resist it. ’I’ll just have to trust him one more time.’

’Maybe... maybe this time we can actually walk into the future together?’

In the end, Claire Sinclair forced herself to make a decision.

She lifted her gaze slightly to meet the man’s deeply affectionate dark eyes, then reached out with both hands, lacing her fingers tightly with his.

”I’m really clumsy when it comes to relationships. If I do something wrong, you’ll probably need to be more patient with me than most. But please, don’t worry. When I realize I’ve made a mistake, I’ll do everything I can to fix it. I promise I won’t hold you back!”

”Claire, the same goes for me,” the man replied.

’How could he possibly be the same!’

Claire Sinclair pulled her hands away and said irritably, ”You’re trying to trick me again. I’m not falling for it.”

”When have I ever tried to trick you?”

”You’re *always* trying to trick me!”

”Fine, I’m always trying to trick you.”

”...” ’He’s nuts!’

A spark of an idea lit up in Claire Sinclair’s mind. She climbed on top of him, looking down at his flawless, handsome face, the corners of her lips curling into a bewitching smile.

”Don’t you have to work today?”

”Sick leave.”

’He’s lying through his teeth!’

’This guy hasn’t stopped since last night. Does he look sick at all?’

’Yeah, right.’

Claire Sinclair chuckled. ”Well, since you’ve called in sick, I’m going to call in sick too. I’m not going to work today.”

”Isn’t today Saturday?”

”Is it?” She’d been so busy she hadn’t paid any attention to the time, completely losing track of the day of the week.

As much as he wanted to stay in bed and be intimate with her, it was getting late. Adrian Quincy shifted her to the side and slowly sat up. ”Let’s get up. We’re going out to eat today.”

”Today?” Claire Sinclair was a little taken aback, feeling pleasantly surprised.

Adrian Quincy nodded. ”We haven’t had a chance to really go out and have fun since we got married. Is there anywhere you’d like to go?”

”Not really...”

”Shopping?”

”Umm...” Claire Sinclair wasn’t a big fan of shopping; it was too tiring.

Adrian Quincy thought for a moment before suggesting, ”Want to learn how to shoot?”

”Yes!!!” In an instant, Claire Sinclair’s mind was already at the shooting range!

Adrian Quincy gave a slight nod. ”First, get out of bed. We’ll go after we eat.”

Claire Sinclair immediately hopped out of bed, washing up and changing her clothes with record speed.

Eager to see what the shooting range looked like, Claire Sinclair rushed through their meal, practically halving their time. They ducked into a noodle shop near the hotel for a quick bowl, and then she was dragging Adrian Quincy out the door.

Seeing her impatience, Adrian Quincy raised a hand and patted her head, as if soothing an anxious kitten. ”Claire, we’ll be there soon.”

”I just really want to try my sister’s gun. I’m dying to know what it feels like to shoot.”

”Shooting without any hostile intent is no different from firing a water gun. But if there *is* hostile intent—a death threat—that’s when your intelligence comes into play.”

”Oh...” Claire Sinclair was taken aback. ’What he said sounds so profound.’

’Whatever. I’ll figure out what he means when we get to the range.’

After a drive of about twenty minutes, they finally arrived at the training camp.

Adrian Quincy had Aiden Howkins make the arrangements beforehand, so Claire Sinclair was able to enter the shooting range without any issue. As she looked out over the vast, impressive training grounds, she could almost picture her sister training in this very place.

’I never thought I’d ever get to come to a place like this, to train with the very gun my sister used. It’s like I’m finally making up for the regret of never being able to enter the training camp myself.’
