Chapter 43: Chapter 43 Big Brother, Stay With Me_1

Chu Hao was embarrassed. ”Ke Ke, how old are you to even understand this?”

Ke Ke giggled. ”I’m thirteen. I understand these things; don’t treat me like a child. Big Brother, you don’t know, the male teachers at our school always call on me to answer questions during class. It’s so annoying.”

Those teachers at her school are seriously asking for trouble, Chu Hao thought. When he heard this, he got angry and said, ”Then tell your dad to report them.”

Ke Ke shook her head. ”What’s the use of reporting? His gaze just makes me feel uncomfortable...kinda like how Big Brother is looking at me right now, even though you’re talking to Ke Ke.”

Chu Hao’s face turned red. The post-2000 generation will be so formidable. I’m just a 90s kid.f.(r)eewe/bnov\ll.com

”It’s a common thing among men; all guys are the same. You’ll understand when you grow up,” he said.

Ke Ke looked up to him admiringly. ”Big Brother, you’re so impressive.”

Chu Hao felt awkward. ”What on earth are you thinking about all day? If your dad hears this, he’d smack you.”

Ke Ke said proudly, ”Hmph... he wouldn’t dare hit me. If he did, I’d go to Mom.”

Kids these days are really spoiled by adults, Chu Hao mused.

After a little while, Ke Ke asked fearfully, ”Will the ghosts come tonight?”

Chu Hao wasn’t sure himself. After all, Ren Hanxue had mentioned that these female ghosts didn’t always appear, and sometimes there would be a gap of one or two days.

”You go to sleep. I’ll wait.”

Ke Ke crawled into bed, her adorable little head, as exquisitely carved as a porcelain doll’s, peeking out. ”I’m scared; I can’t sleep.”

”No worries, Big Brother is here. No ghost can harm you,” said Chu Hao.

”Oh.” Ke Ke crawled back under the covers. Shortly after, she popped her head out again. ”Big Brother, why don’t you come up here? I’m really scared.”

Chu Hao felt helpless. Kids will be kids. He sat on the edge of the bed and patted Ke Ke’s little head. ”Go to sleep. Big Brother has to catch ghosts later.”

”Okay then, Ke Ke will go to sleep first.”

Bored, Chu Hao picked up his phone and played for a while. It was almost three in the morning, and the ghosts still hadn’t shown up. His eyelids grew heavy, and he unknowingly dozed off on the couch.

In the dead of night, Chu Hao had a dream in which a seductive woman was flirting with him.

A System notification appeared: B-Class Hidden Mission, Wangui Fetus.

A mission alert?!

Chu Hao abruptly opened his eyes, only to see Ke Ke squatting on the bed, watching him with a strange expression.

That wasn’t a dream?

What is this little girl doing?

Chu Hao was startled and quickly pushed Ke Ke away, thoroughly scared. He had never been this frightened, not even when seeing real ghosts.

Then, he saw Ke Ke give an eerie smile that was clearly not her own.

”Brother, keep me company,” the voice said.

Chu Hao, furious, yelled, ”You evil creature! Show yourself!”

Ke Ke let out a spooky laugh and, with a swift jump, clung to the wall like a gecko, her creepy black pupils fixed on Chu Hao.

”Sadako, come out! Don’t harm Ke Ke. Catch that Flirtatious Ghost!” Chu Hao ordered.

Sadako appeared and rushed into Ke Ke’s body. The little girl’s face immediately began to alternate between flushed and pale.

Finally, Sadako pulled a female ghost out of Ke Ke’s body. Ke Ke fell, and Chu Hao caught her in his arms.

He hastily applied an Exorcism Talisman to Ke Ke. The coldness was dispelled from her body, and her complexion improved considerably, though she was bound to be sick for a few days.

Ke Ke opened her eyes, groggy. ”Big Brother, what happened to me?”

”Nothing, just keep sleeping.”

Chu Hao immediately went to the middle-aged uncle’s room, only to witness an unforgettable scene.

The middle-aged uncle was sitting in a chair, continuously making ”WHOOSH! WHOOSH!” sounds.

No wonder his body was so weak. If this continues, it’s perfectly normal for his essence and vitality to be depleted to the point of death.

On closer inspection, three female ghosts were surrounding the uncle, cackling eerily. Inside the uncle’s body were three other female ghosts, entangled with him in his dreams.

His first thought upon seeing this was actually envy!

It was almost like the goblins from Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio. Shaking off the messy thoughts, Chu Hao roared, ”Daring evil creatures! Stop harming people!”

He thrust his sword, piercing a Flirtatious Ghost of Evil Ghost level. It let out a shrill scream and, killed in a single strike, vanished into ash and smoke.

”Ding... Killed an Evil Ghost, awarded 5,000 Experience Points.”

”Ding... Killed a Xiao Gui, awarded 500 Experience Points.”

”Ding... Killed a Xiao Gui, awarded 500 Experience Points.”

”Ding... Killed a Xiao Gui, awarded 500 Experience Points.”

”Ding... Killed a Xiao Gui, awarded 500 Experience Points.”

”Ding... Killed a Xiao Gui, awarded 500 Experience Points.”

”Ding... Host successfully bluffed a ghost, awarded 10 Pretentiousness Points.”

What’s going on?

I only killed one Evil Ghost, so why are there continuous prompts about killing Xiao Guis?

The other female ghosts were also shocked and outraged, now realizing this man could definitely see them. They screeched and lunged at him, their faces twisted and horrifying, just like the pale-faced ghosts from movies.

Chu Hao was unfazed. He said coldly, ”Your kind? I, the Taoist Master, have killed too many to count.”

”Sadako, finish them!” he commanded.

Sadako was terrifying. Her body twisted mechanically as she lunged forward and tore apart two Flirtatious Ghosts.

”Ding... Killed an Evil Ghost, awarded 5,000 Experience Points.”

”Ding... Killed a Xiao Gui, awarded 500 Experience Points.”

”Ding... Killed a Xiao Gui, awarded 500 Experience Points.”

”Ding... Killed a Xiao Gui, awarded 500 Experience Points.”

This time, it was three Xiao Guis.
