Ghost Catching System

Chapter 30: Chapter 30 Jiayeci, Chu Beauty_1

The middle-aged policeman spoke, a hint of terror in his voice, ”One of our injured colleagues said he saw a ghost! Sigh... Anyway, this whole affair is pretty mysterious. It’s said that people from the Seventh District have arrived. They’re inside right now; it’s been an hour, but we still don’t know what’s going on.”

Qin Zhengyu sprang up, exclaiming, ”The Seventh District! Are you joking?”

Chu Hao didn’t understand and asked, ”What is the Seventh District?”

Qin Zhengyu quickly explained, ”The Seventh District is a nickname. It’s rumored to be a very special police force—or rather, a special operations unit—that specifically deals with supernatural events. I heard about it from my dad, but I never thought the Seventh District actually existed.”

The middle-aged policeman waved his hand. ”In any case, it’s extremely dangerous inside. You all should hurry home.”

Suddenly, glass from the thirteenth floor of the hospital shattered, and someone plummeted from above, crashing hard onto the ground.

”FUCK!”

Chu Hao, Qin Zhengyu, and the middle-aged officer were all startled.

The crowd of onlookers also screamed in horror.

Chu Hao felt a bit sheepish. The ghost on this floor isn’t going to be easy to deal with.

At this moment, he had a very strong feeling: If I don’t go up, more people will die.

”Prepare to breach.”

Suddenly, a familiar voice reached his ears. Standing on tiptoe, he saw it was indeed the female officer, Fang Jingxue, directing her police team to breach.

Chu Hao’s expression changed as he shouted, ”Don’t breach!”

Evidently, Fang Jingxue hadn’t heard him, as her team was already starting their assault.

Chu Hao grew anxious. ”Let me in,” he urged, ”or many people will die.”

The middle-aged officer was taken aback, shaking his head. ”You can’t go in.”

”Damn it!”

Without a second thought, Chu Hao pushed past the middle-aged officer, dashed forward like an arrow, and broke through the police line.

”Come back here!”

The middle-aged policeman exclaimed in surprise, unable to catch up with Chu Hao, who had already plunged into the hospital. Qin Zhengyu, excited to follow, was held back tightly by the middle-aged officer.

Upon stepping into the hospital, Chu Hao immediately felt a powerful wave of sinister energy wash over him, causing him to shiver involuntarily.

Chu Hao said, ”Sadako, no matter what ghost we encounter, tear it apart for me.”

Sadako floated out, replying, ”Yes, Master.”

As he ran, he finally saw Fang Jingxue and the others, preparing to go upstairs.

Just as Chu Hao was about to call out to her, he saw a semi-transparent massive hand drag a policeman in front into the darkness.

”BANG! BANG! BANG!”

”Ah! Save me, save me!!” The officer screamed in agony, continuously spraying bullets from his submachine gun.

Chu Hao, furious, yelled, ”Evil fiend! Stop harming people!”

Clad in his Taoist robe and wielding a Peachwood Sword, Chu Hao lunged forward, stabbing fiercely at the semi-transparent hand.

”DING... Host has successfully shown off, gaining 5 Pretentiousness Points.”

”DING... You’ve slain an Evil Ghost, gaining 5,000 Experience Points.”

Chu Hao’s dramatic entrance stunned everyone.

Moments ago, several officers had been trying to pull the man back. However, the massive hand was immensely strong, dragging all four of them along. Yet Chu Hao had dispersed it with a single sword thrust.

”Who... who are you?” The officers were astounded.

This person’s arrival was too shocking. What’s with that flashy Taoist robe? So cool!

Chu Hao snorted, ”If I, the Taoist Master, hadn’t arrived, all of you would be dead. And you, Fang Jingxue, didn’t you hear me calling you? Get out of here quickly and don’t interfere with this Taoist Master’s work.”

The other officers gaped in amazement.

Fang Jingxue removed her helmet, revealing her delicate face, full of shock and joy.

”Master!”

Chu Hao: ”...” f.(r)eewe/bnov\ll.com

”DING... Host has successfully shown off, gaining 5 Pretentiousness Points.”

Master!

The group of officers was taken aback. This young man is the master of the notoriously violent policewoman, Fang Jingxue?

Chu Hao glared at her and said, ”Stop talking nonsense; I’m not your master.”

Undeterred, Fang Jingxue’s delicate oval face lit up with excitement, as if she were Hua Mulan herself. ”Master,” she said, ”your timing is perfect! Let’s storm in together!”

Storm in? Don’t be ridiculous!

Chu Hao became infuriated, berating her regardless of her being a policewoman, ”What ’storm in’? Are you nuts? Don’t you realize how dangerous it was just now? Get out of the hospital, right now!”

FUCK! How can this kid be so bold? He even dares to scold Fang Jingxue, the ’Violent Flower’ of the police force! Is he tired of living?

To their astonishment, Fang Jingxue merely pouted, a troubled look on her face. ”Master, I’m fine, see? I want to go in and take a look too.”

Chu Hao irritably replied, ”This isn’t a place for you. Get out, now! If you don’t leave, I’ll... I’ll...”

What can I do about her, anyway? She’s a police officer, and I’m the one who trespassed. But this place is indeed very dangerous. Ordinarily, Chu Hao would have definitely grabbed a few people to show off in front of.

Fang Jingxue perked up, her tone becoming defiant. ”I’m not leaving! I’m a police officer. What are you going to do about it?”

Oh, really now! So you think I can’t handle you?

Chu Hao waved his hand and said, ”If you don’t leave right now, then don’t call me your master anymore. Do whatever you please.”

”DING... Host has successfully shown off, gaining 5 Pretentiousness Points.”

Fang Jingxue: ”...”

Her squadmates stood dumbfounded.

Fang Jingxue stomped her foot and ordered, ”Retreat!”

She... she’s actually retreating? Just like that? What happened to Inspector Fang’s usual arrogance? What about her fiery temper? This guy is a legend! He actually tamed the ’Violent Flower’!

After everyone left, Chu Hao looked towards the stairs and asked, ”System, how many ghosts are there here?”

System: ”One hundred and fifty-seven Xiao Gui, thirty-six Evil Ghosts, and one vicious ghost.”

WHAT THE HECK!! Did I just stumble into a ghost den? But, so many ghosts also mean tons of Experience Points!

Chu Hao was ecstatic. ”Haha... Jackpot! I’m going to sweep through, floor by floor.”

As he rushed to the first floor, two Xiao Gui immediately pounced on him, one male and one female. Although they appeared ferocious, Chu Hao wasn’t worried at all.

Sadako instantly rushed forward, and in the blink of an eye, her sharp claws tore the two Xiao Gui apart.

”DING... Killed Xiao Gui, received 500 Experience Points.”

”DING... Killed Xiao Gui, received 500 Experience Points.”

As he continued, countless Xiao Gui swarmed him. At most, they could only scare people. They didn’t really have the strength to even deal with a normal person.

Seeing Sadako was becoming overwhelmed, Chu Hao said, ”System, purchase Jiayeci and Chu Beauty.”

”DING... Host has purchased Jiayeci, consuming 20 Pretentiousness Points.”

”DING... Host has purchased Chu Beauty, consuming 20 Pretentiousness Points.”

”DING... Host has 95 Pretentiousness Points remaining.”
