Ghost Catching System

Chapter 33: Chapter 33 Let Me Do It (Please Favorite!)_1

They were, after all, the elites of the Seventh District. To be tied up in just a few moves was one thing; if word got out, it would be incredibly embarrassing.

Especially the silver-haired man—he was supposed to be a master from the Seventh District, yet being defeated so easily truly stung his pride.

Everyone felt a resigned acceptance of death. The young woman with a ponytail said angrily, ”People of the Nether Cult, kill or carve us up as you please!”

Chu Hao was taken aback. ”Who belongs to the Nether Cult? I’m from the Qingyun Sect. Beauty, you’ve been reading too many fantasy novels, haven’t you?”

Another one, a chubby man, exclaimed in surprise, ”You... You’re really not from the Nether Cult?”

Chu Hao glared at him. ”No shit! I came in here to rescue people and just happened to eliminate some ghosts along the way. Are you guys sick or something, attacking without a word? And you,” he said, looking at the silver-haired man, ”just because you dyed your hair silver, you think you’re hot stuff? This Taoist Master sees posers like you all the time. I beat up eight of them a day! Don’t even try to argue; I’ve done it before.”

”DING... Host has reached the realm of Sarcastic Pretentiousness. Earned 50 Pretentiousness Points.”

Everyone was stunned, especially the silver-haired man. The corner of his mouth twitched. My silver hair isn’t dyed; it’s natural! He felt an unbearable urge to vent his frustration but didn’t dare. It was infuriating. f(r)eew(e)bnovel.(c)o(m)

Chu Hao felt awesome. Scoring 50 Pretentiousness Points for his sarcasm was simply too satisfying.

The other three sighed in relief. The young woman with the ponytail cautiously asked, ”We’re from the Seventh District. If you’re not from the Nether Cult, then who exactly are you?”

The Seventh District! So, they’re police! Chu Hao was dumbfounded and immediately felt awkward.

Realizing he might have assaulted an officer, Chu Hao grew a little fearful. His attitude did a complete one-eighty. ”COUGH, COUGH! It’s all a misunderstanding. I didn’t know who you were. Besides... you attacked me as soon as you came in, so it’s natural I’d think you were bad guys.”

The four of them wanted to spit blood. You’re the real bad guy here! they thought. A lone man in a hospital, commanding Evil Ghosts, and so strong he almost scared us to death!

Chu Hao untied them and said with an embarrassed smile, ”Sorry about that. If you’d said you were police earlier, I wouldn’t have attacked.”

The silver-haired man clenched his teeth. This is so infuriating! he thought. I’ve practiced swordsmanship for so many years, yet I can’t compare to him! He asked, ”Who exactly are you?”

Chu Hao adopted a serious expression. ”Actually, I was just surfing the internet in a cafe and popped out to buy some soy sauce. I saw something happening at the hospital and took the opportunity to eliminate these Xiao Gui. Rest assured, I am definitely a good citizen. If you don’t believe me, you can check; I’ve never done anything illegal.”

The four of them were dumbfounded. The silver-haired man’s mouth twitched; he felt Chu Hao was mocking them. Could a master of swordsmanship be an ordinary person?

Then what did that make them? Trash? Useless!

The more Chu Hao acted this way, the more mysterious he seemed.

Once untied, all four of them breathed a sigh of relief. The silver-haired man, his face still swollen, mumbled unclearly, ”Let’s go. Old Yuan is waiting for us.”

The other three nodded. Looking at the silver-haired man’s swollen face, they wanted to laugh but didn’t dare.

As they spoke, the four were about to head upstairs.

Chu Hao quickly said, ”Wait for me!”

The silver-haired man stopped. Although he wanted to explode with anger, the thought of Chu Hao’s terrifying swordsmanship made him hold back. ”We are in a rush to rescue someone,” he said.

Chu Hao put on a stern face. ”Since this Taoist Master is here, I must eliminate all the ghosts before leaving.”

All those Experience Points! I’m not letting you take them away from me, he thought.

”Suit yourself,” the silver-haired man said, turning to leave as if in a great hurry.

So, Chu Hao followed them upstairs.

As they headed further upstairs, an Evil Ghost suddenly pounced. The silver-haired man drew his longsword and gestured to the others. This was their usual signal to quickly exterminate Evil Ghosts. The other three nodded and prepared to strike.

But then, a shout came from behind them, ”Don’t move! Let me handle it!”

Chu Hao lunged forward, his eyes gleaming with excitement as if he had spotted a treasure.

”Be careful!” the four exclaimed in shock.

An Evil Ghost that powerful requires all of us to defeat—how can Chu Hao handle it alone?

But the next moment left them dumbstruck. The red wooden sword in Chu Hao’s hand flashed. A single slash tore through the Evil Ghost’s body. The wound, covered in Inscriptions, sizzled as the ghost emitted a piercing scream before instantly being reduced to ashes.

”DING... Host has successfully shown off. Received 7 Pretentiousness Points.”

”DING... Evil Ghost killed. Earned 5,000 Experience Points.”

That... That’s it?

The four of them found it unbelievable. An Evil Ghost they thought would be tough to deal with was killed with a single sword strike!

Chu Hao sprinted forward. Looking back, he saw the four still stupefied. ”Can you please act a bit more professional?” he said. ”I can handle these weak Ghosts myself. Your target is the main boss. Save your strength; get ready for the real fight.”

The four of them felt like cursing. A weak Evil Ghost?! Are you sure?! Aren’t you just showing off?!

This kind of Evil Ghost could kill a healthy adult. Moreover, killing a Ghost wasn’t the same as capturing one; Ghosts were very difficult to kill because their souls were already quite strong.

And Chu Hao? He had wiped it out with a single sword strike, completely obliterating its soul.

Suddenly, three Evil Ghosts appeared up ahead. They had fierce expressions, each displaying its most tragic appearance from before death, blood still dripping onto the floor.

The expressions of the four changed as they prepared to defend themselves.

”Don’t move! Save your energy. Let me handle this,” Chu Hao interjected.

Sadako, Jiayeci, and Chu Beauty, the three Ghost Servants, lunged forward. Sadako’s killing method was especially horrifying; she crushed one Evil Ghost to pieces.

Jiayeci’s hair constricted another Evil Ghost, piercing through its seven orifices and tearing it apart.

Chu Beauty, though the weakest, was still very quick. After a fierce battle lasting about five exchanges, she too killed the remaining Evil Ghost.

”DING... Host has successfully shown off. Received 7 Pretentiousness Points.”

”DING... Evil Ghost killed. Earned 5,000 Experience Points.”

”DING... Evil Ghost killed. Earned 5,000 Experience Points.”

”DING... Evil Ghost killed. Earned 5,000 Experience Points.”

”DING... Evil Ghost dropped an Evil Ghost Pill. Added to inventory.”

MWAHAHA! What luck, another Evil Ghost Pill! Chu Hao thought gleefully.

As for the four from the Seventh District, they were completely dumbfounded.

The three who had previously fought the Ghost Servants trembled with fear. If he had ordered these Ghost Servants to kill us back then, they thought, we might not have withstood a single attack!

Chu Hao fed Jiayeci the Evil Ghost Pill.

”DING... Jiayeci has leveled up to Level 3.”

”DING... Jiayeci has acquired the skill: Cloning.”

Evil Ghost: Jiayeci

Strength: 24

Agility: 23

Intelligence: 25

Skills: Hair Strangler, Cloning (Upgradeable, Assimilation Potential)

Awesome, girl! Cloning! Chu Hao marveled.

Chu Hao really wanted to test the skill immediately, but with others present, he restrained himself and said, ”Let’s go, everyone. I can only help you this far. The main boss up ahead is all yours.”

The corners of the four people’s mouths twitched. Is he praising us or looking down on us?

The killing spree continued. Chu Hao looked utterly excited, while the four had nothing to do. They could sense his frenzy; he actually treated killing Ghosts as a kind of pleasure! This realization sent shivers down their spines.

”DING... Evil Ghost killed. Earned 5,000 Experience Points.”

”DING... Evil Ghost dropped a Ghost Ring. Added to inventory.”

Ghost Ring: Allows wearer to see any Ghosts within a hundred-meter radius.

Chu Hao replaced his old ring with the new one. Indeed, his vision cleared, allowing him to perceive Ghost presences even at a great distance.
