Ghost Catching System

Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Twin Female Ghosts_1

So, there really was more to this matter.

System, what’s this all about, a hidden mission?

System: ”Yes, it’s a hidden mission, Level C.”

If there’s a Level C, there are also Levels B and A.

Chu Hao breathed a sigh of relief. He was pleased it was a mission; he had feared all his efforts were for nothing. Now, he was filled with motivation.

Chu Hao gestured to Wang Yu. ”It just so happens I’m free, so I’ll go with you and take a look.”

Wang Yu’s face lit up with excitement. ”Thank you, Brother Hao! I’ll bring the car over right now.”

Chu Hao still planned to check the money on that bank card, but he decided to wait until he returned.

「Back at the villa,」 it had been sealed off. After all, Wang Kun’s case had caused quite a stir and had even made the news.

Wang Jianguo, Wang Yu’s father, was also there. He greeted Chu Hao warmly upon seeing him.

”Taoist Master, you’ve arrived.” Wang Jianguo didn’t address him informally despite Chu Hao’s youth; a characteristic of a seasoned businessman, he always showed courtesy to those with ability.

Chu Hao nodded. ”Have you sent people to find the body?”

Wang Jianguo’s face was somewhat pale. He nodded. ”We did, but they couldn’t find it. It vanished into thin air.”

With that, the lead went cold.

Just then, his thoughts were interrupted by the arrival of Fang Jingxue, the female police officer in charge of the case.

”Chu Hao, you’re here.”

Fang Jingxue grabbed Chu Hao’s arm, her shimmering eyes like the moon veiled by passing clouds.

Chu Hao was speechless. Her again? Perhaps it was trauma from being chased by urban management, but the sight of police always made him uneasy. He cautiously said, ”Officer, I haven’t committed any crimes, have I?”

Fang Jingxue shook her head, her large eyes wide. ”What kind of trickery did you use on me last night?”

You were so terrified last night, and you actually thought it was just a trick of the eye!

Chu Hao said exasperatedly, ”Can you let go of my arm? People will think I’ve committed another crime.”

Seeing people staring, Fang Jingxue looked embarrassed. She was so beautiful that both Wang Yu and Wang Jianguo couldn’t help but covertly gulp.

Just as Chu Hao was about to speak, a sudden gust of chilling wind blew past. That feeling is all too familiar—isn’t that a ghost appearing?

Sure enough, about ten meters away, he saw two women in floral dresses standing under the shade of a tree—twins.

This Conjoined Ghost is too brazen, daring to appear in broad daylight with so many people around! Could it be that she has set her sights on me?

Chu Hao was immediately irked. I didn’t go looking for you, yet you came looking for me!

Chu Hao said to Fang Jingxue, ”Officer, didn’t you say I used trickery? Come with me. I’ll let you see if what I said was just trickery.”

Wang Yu and Wang Jianguo shuddered. Wang Yu stammered, ”Brother Hao, could... could it be?!”

Chu Hao waved his hand dismissively. ”Don’t worry. With this Taoist Master here, what’s a mere Female Ghost? Even if a hundred of them came, this Taoist Master wouldn’t be afraid. I’d wipe them out all the same.”

”DING... Host has failed at showing off. No Pretentiousness Points awarded.”

Failed at showing off? What’s going on?

He soon understood why. Fang Jingxue was looking at him contemptuously; he reminded her too much of the posers she used to arrest.

Damn it! She actually doesn’t believe me.

Chu Hao fumed. ”Come on! This Taoist Master will take you to see a ghost.”

Chu Hao strode forward.

Although Wang Yu and Wang Jianguo were scared, their curiosity got the better of them. They had immense faith that they would be perfectly safe with the Taoist Master, so they followed.

Fang Jingxue sneered, curious to see what trick Chu Hao was planning.

Meanwhile, Chu Hao asked in his mind, Sadako, if you fight her now, who’s stronger?

Sadako replied, ”Master, after taking the Evil Ghost Pill, my strength has doubled. Against the Conjoined Ghost, I have a seventy percent chance of victory.”

”If she dares to approach, engage her.”

”Yes, Master.”

「Finally, they arrived in a forest」 that was eerily quiet and sinister.

Chu Hao strode forward and called out, ”Come out.”

Fang Jingxue was puzzled. Who is he talking to? It couldn’t really be a ghost, could it?! But then again, she didn’t believe in ghosts at all.

Wang Yu and Wang Jianguo, however, were shivering.

From behind a tree, the two twins in floral dresses floated out.

Chu Hao frowned. ”You lured me here. What do you want?”

Before the twins could speak, Fang Jingxue asked, ”Who are you talking to?”

Right, I forgot. With the Ghost-Seeing Ring, I can see any Ghost within ten meters.

He took out a Soulrend Talisman and proclaimed, ”Swiftly, as the statutes decree!”

As the talisman flared with light, Fang Jingxue, Wang Yu, and Wang Jianguo stared wide-eyed. Not far ahead, the two twin girls were hovering in mid-air.

”A ghost!” Wang Yu exclaimed, grabbing his father’s arm.

”DING... Host has successfully shown off, obtaining 5 Pretentiousness Points.” f.r(e)e\webn.ovel.co\m

Fang Jingxue was stunned. She definitely recognized those two girls; she had seen their bodies in the underground warehouse.

So ghosts... really do exist in this world!

Fang Jingxue shuddered and instinctively moved closer to Chu Hao, grabbing his arm. She was so nervous she didn’t even realize what she was doing.

Chu Hao glanced at her heaving chest. Is she as well-endowed as Zhou Ziqing? Probably not, right?

Chu Hao said smugly, ”Now do you believe me? It was tough last night; I was squatting there all night.”

Fang Jingxue nodded subconsciously, but soon her eyes blazed with a determined light as she stared fixedly at the twin female ghosts.

Chu Hao was startled by her fervent gaze.

Chu Hao turned to the twins and scolded, ”You two, do you really think this Taoist Master wouldn’t dare to annihilate you?”

The female ghost on the left hurriedly said, ”No! We came to thank you, Taoist Master. Thank you for exposing Wang Kun.”

Chu Hao was taken aback. So they weren’t here to cause trouble! And I was so tense just now.

Chu Hao waved his hand. ”It’s a trivial matter. I see no Evil Qi on you, so you probably haven’t harmed anyone. You’re rare, good ghosts. If you were murderous ghosts, this Taoist Master wouldn’t have let you leave; I’d have ensured your souls scattered.”

His words directly proved he wasn’t afraid of the Conjoined Ghost; he silently praised himself for his cleverness.

”DING... Host has successfully shown off, obtaining 5 Pretentiousness Points.”

The twin female ghosts exchanged a look, their shock and fear evident.

The twins suddenly knelt. ”Taoist Master, please, help us.”

Seeing the female ghosts were about his own age, Chu Hao felt a bit awkward. ”Stand up and speak.”

The twins cried, ”Taoist Master, you must know what we endured! Wang Kun—he’s not human! He dissected us, and the worst part was he kept us alive, forcing us to endure the most excruciating pain imaginable!”

Everyone present was enraged. Wang Kun truly was a monster, capable of such cruelty.

Fang Jingxue sighed. ”Yesterday, a psychologist diagnosed him with a mental illness. He’s been taken to a psychiatric hospital.”

The twins remained kneeling, pleading agitatedly, ”Please, Taoist Master, avenge us! As long as Wang Kun lives, we two sisters cannot reincarnate!”
