Ghost Catching System

Chapter 24: Chapter 24 The Truth of the Matter_1

Wang Yu’s father approached cautiously and said, ”Taoist Master! Has... has the Female Ghost run away?” \n(o)v.e\l.com

Chu Hao replied irritably, ”No shit, didn’t you just see it?”

Wang Yu’s father’s face turned ugly, and the faces of the others also turned pale.

With a wave of his hand, Chu Hao said arrogantly, ”Don’t worry, that Ghost has been severely injured by this Taoist Master. Even if a hundred more of these Xiao Guis showed up, this Taoist Master could wipe them out. I reckon she won’t dare cause any more trouble this time.”

”DING... Host has successfully acted pretentiously, gaining 4 Pretentiousness Points.”

Someone immediately came forward with lavish praise. ”Taoist Master is amazing!”

”Taoist Master, you’re so young!”

”Thank you, Taoist Master! Without you, our troubles would have been much greater.”

Wang Yu’s father reacted quickly, handing over a card. ”Please accept this, Taoist Master. The password is the six digits on the back. You must take it; otherwise, we wouldn’t feel right.”

His son had already said that Taoist Masters don’t offer their services for free, and he was more than willing to use money to build a connection with an exorcist Taoist Master.

Chu Hao cleared his throat. ”Since it’s weighing on your conscience, it would be a slap to your face if this Taoist Master didn’t accept... Fine, I’ll take it.” He took the card without any hint of a blush or a racing heartbeat.

Clicking his tongue... he thought to himself that he’d definitely check how much money was in it when he got back.

Wang Yu’s father was speechless. He had never seen such barefaced shamelessness. Of course, he dared not say it out loud and could only maintain a smile for Chu Hao.

Chu Hao frowned. ”Who is the master of this house?”

A middle-aged man with heavy dark circles under his eyes stepped forward, saying gratefully, ”Taoist Master, I... I am the master of this house.”

With irritation, Chu Hao said, ”You’re incredibly ill-fated, aren’t you? Your house has turned into a ghost den.”

The middle-aged man, Wang Jianyu, was already terrified. His face strained as he said, ”I... I have no idea what happened. Those three Female Ghosts, I don’t recognize any of them.”

Chu Hao stroked his chin; this was getting strange.

After searching around, he still hadn’t found who he was looking for. The deceased of this household was Wang Jianyu’s father, a man over eighty years old. Chu Hao went over to inspect the body closely.

This inspection alarmed him, causing him to shudder.

At that moment, the Wang Family’s elder lay peacefully in the coffin, but his fingernails had turned a dark gray, and his body exuded a palpable Evil Qi.

Chu Hao, having studied the Ghost Sutras and the Mao Mountain Taoism Handbook for Ghost Hunting, had a rough idea of what was going on.

He couldn’t help but ask, ”Did your elder offend someone? He’s almost turned into a zombie.”

”What?!” Everyone was horrified.

”DING... Host has shocked with pretense, gaining 4 Pretentiousness Points.”

Chu Hao said, ”You were planning to bury the elder in the ground, right?”

”Yes, yes,” Wang Yu’s father nodded repeatedly.

In the city, cremation was the norm, but some elderly preferred burial, a luxury only the wealthy could typically afford.

Chu Hao said indifferently, ”In no more than forty-nine days, the transformation will be nearly complete. By then, your elder will climb out of his coffin. Everyone in the Wang Family will be killed by him.”

Wang Jianyu’s face turned pale with fear, and he immediately knelt. ”Taoist Master, you must save us!” he pleaded.

Most of the Wang Family members knelt as well, including Wang Yu and his father, all terrified to their core.

Being mostly businessmen, they were completely ignorant of such matters and were utterly horrified.

Zombies! Could it get any more intense? It was like something out of a movie!

Chu Hao stroked his chin. ”Everyone, stand up. With this Taoist Master here, no Evil Ghost shall harm you. But let me think carefully. The problem must lie within your Wang Family; otherwise, no one would go out of their way to harm you like this.”

The crowd was grateful, now relying entirely on Chu Hao.

His gaze fell on each person’s face.

Suddenly, Chu Hao saw a young man with gold-rimmed glasses—Wu Qingqing’s boyfriend, named Wang Kun.

Chu Hao glanced over the man and, using the Ma Yi Divine Calculation Technique, noticed a surge of Evil Qi around him. ”You, come here,” he commanded.

Wang Kun, of course, recognized Chu Hao. He was the one who had tricked Wu Qingqing away from Chu Hao. Now, being pointed at and called over by him, Wang Kun felt a surge of fear.

”Taoist Master! About Qingqing, I...”

Chu Hao waved his hand dismissively. ”She has nothing to do with me,” he said coldly.

Beside him, Wu Qingqing’s expression turned ugly. Now, she only felt regret. She hadn’t expected Chu Hao to truly possess such abilities. If she had known, she would have made sure to appease him.

Chu Hao said, ”Stretch out your hand.”

Wang Kun did as he was told.

Chu Hao used the Ma Yi Divine Calculation Technique to examine it. Suddenly, his eyes widened. He jerked his head up and slapped Wang Kun fiercely across the face.

SMACK! The slap was extremely powerful, enough to make Wang Kun bleed.

Wang Kun’s eyes widened, his expression turning slightly ferocious. ”You! You hit me?”

”You bastard! Damn right I hit you!”

Suddenly consumed by fury, Chu Hao charged forward and delivered a savage beating. Within a few blows, Wang Kun was on the ground, unable to get up. Everyone was stunned and hurried to pull back the raging Chu Hao.

”Taoist Master, what... what are you doing?” Wang Jianyu was also getting angry; after all, this was his son.

Chu Hao shouted angrily, ”Get lost!”

Then, he pointed at Wang Kun’s nose and cursed, ”Scum! Don’t think this Taoist Master doesn’t know. You have two lives on your hands! If I’m not mistaken, it was those twins, right?”

Wang Kun was visibly panicked.

Wang Jianyu exclaimed, ”That’s impossible! My son is a good boy. How could he possibly kill anyone?”

Chu Hao turned his head and looked at Wu Qingqing. ”You should thank me. Otherwise... you’d have ended up just like those twins.”

Wu Qingqing’s face turned ashen.

Chu Hao continued coldly, ”You have the physiognomy of someone dangerous. I was puzzled earlier, so when I read your palm, I found one or two strands of ghostly Qi entwined there, identical to that of the twins from earlier. If I’m not wrong, those twins died by your hands! And moreover, you used extremely brutal methods.”

Wang Kun truly panicked, his face a mask of disbelief. ”You! You!” he stuttered.

”DING... Host successfully showed off, gaining 4 Pretentiousness Points.”

”DING... The truth behind the scenes is uncovered, gaining 5,000 Experience Points.”

”DING... Host level has reached level 5.”

Chu Hao slapped him again. ”Aren’t you going to talk?” he demanded furiously.

Everyone looked at Wang Kun in disbelief. This quiet-looking young man was responsible for two human lives.

Wang Kun’s body trembled; he was utterly shaken.

After a long moment, Wang Kun raised his head, his expression ghastly. ”You’re right,” he confessed. ”I did kill the twins. Ha ha... you have no idea how beautiful their bodies were. I dissected them, stitched them together, tsk tsk... such a beautiful piece of art. You can’t understand.”

Everyone was horrified; Wang Kun seemed like a complete lunatic at this moment.

Wang Kun’s expression turned manic as he laughed. ”Can you imagine living with your lower half cut off? When I stitched them together, they could still coexist! That’s the power of twins; no one else could achieve that. The sight of their joined bodies... I was so excited, so thrilled!”

”What’s so damn funny?” Chu Hao kicked him, sending Wang Kun sprawling to the ground.

Far from being afraid, Wang Kun seemed completely unhinged as he continued, ”Wu Qingqing, I’ve experimented on her body many times. I planned to combine her body with that of an animal. Tsk tsk... it would be beautiful.”

Wu Qingqing’s face was deathly pale; she trembled all over with fear.

It was unimaginable. If Chu Hao hadn’t discovered this, she would have ended up just like the twins.

”Pervert!”

Wang Yu gasped, horrified, looking at his cousin in disbelief. This guy was a freaking lunatic.
