Ghost Catching System

Chapter 27: Chapter 27 I Must Become Your Disciple_1

Chu Hao was troubled. Wang Kun was in a mental hospital now. How could he deal with him?

Fang Jingxue also felt sympathy for the two women and said, ”Don’t worry, the police will definitely bring you justice.”

The twins were furious. A cold wind blew towards them, their expressions extremely fierce as they said, ”Justice! Such people should go to Hell. Now that he’s been sent to a mental hospital, he can still live.”

Fang Jingxue’s complexion turned somewhat pale, and she held Chu Hao’s arm even tighter. These twins were not human but ghosts.

Chu Hao snorted. The two female ghosts shuddered. He said, ”Then why didn’t you just kill him? You clearly have the strength.”

The twins sobbed, ”The Taoist Master doesn’t know. We want revenge, but we’re afraid of Wang Kun... he’s a pervert.”

True enough, upon seeing the two sisters, Wang Kun hadn’t felt afraid but was instead extremely excited.

Thinking of this, Chu Hao became angry and asked Fang Jingxue, ”What should be done about Wang Kun? Are we just going to let him stay in the mental hospital?”

Fang Jingxue, seeing everyone looking at her, said, ”He’ll be imprisoned. It’s unlikely he’ll ever leave the mental hospital. The police have also determined he’s mentally ill and, as such, cannot issue a death sentence.”

Upon hearing this, the twins trembled violently. A great gust of cold wind erupted around them, and the air temperature plummeted to one hundred degrees below zero.

The expressions of Fang Jingxue, Wang Yu, and Wang Jianguo changed in shock.

Chu Hao frowned and said, ”Don’t get too excited yet. I, the Taoist Master, promise you that Wang Kun won’t have an easy life from now on.”

”Thank you, Taoist Master.” The twins kowtowed gratefully.

Fang Jingxue looked at Chu Hao. He’s quite charming at this moment, she thought.

However, Fang Jingxue quickly asked, ”What are you planning to do?”

Chu Hao ignored her, asking Sadako in his mind, Sadako, is your Seven-Day Death Curse skill effective against Wang Kun?

Sadako replied, ”It is effective.”

”Alright, you handle it then. It would be best to scare him to death. Damn it, that scum!” Chu Hao said indignantly.

Chu Hao then said to the twins, ”By the way, do you know what happened to Wang Kun’s old man? Who took him away?”

The twins looked at each other, somewhat reluctant to speak.

Chu Hao grew angry and said, ”Speak quickly.”

Only then did the two female ghosts say cautiously, ”It was a man wearing a red cloak and a bamboo hat... he... he had a Drought Fiend following him. He took the corpse away.”

Chu Hao was shocked. ”How is it him again?”

Last time, he had exterminated the One-Armed Ghost before he could ask it. Li Qingmei had also mentioned a man wearing a bamboo hat with a Drought Fiend at his side, he recalled.

Chu Hao asked, ”Where did he take it?”

The twins shook their heads. ”We do not know.”

Wang Yu and Wang Jianguo’s complexions turned extremely unsightly. Their grandfather’s body had been taken, and they couldn’t find it. What would they do if it returned to haunt them?

Fang Jingxue was confused and quickly asked Wang Yu what was going on. Upon hearing about zombies, she was completely stunned.

Chu Hao asked inwardly, System, your judgments are usually accurate. How come you didn’t make a sound when the corpse was taken away this time?

System: ”The System only makes judgments on ghosts and spirits; humans are not within its scope.”

So that was it; the man with the bamboo hat was indeed a human, Chu Hao thought.

Chu Hao said, ”Alright then, you two should go reincarnate. I’ll handle Wang Kun’s matter.”

”Thank you, Taoist Master.”

Chu Hao began to recite the Transcendence Scripture: ”The Three Pure Beings above, manifest everywhere, bestow Merit, bless the Human World...”

Then, everyone saw a magnificent golden Merit Hell Gate appear. Its great doors opened, revealing a golden glow from within.

Fang Jingxue, Wang Yu, and Wang Jianguo had their mouths agape in astonishment.

”DING... Host has successfully shown off, receiving 5 Pretentiousness Points.”

Chu Hao felt smug. Last time, Mu Yufei couldn’t see the Merit Gate. But this time, thanks to the Soulrend Talisman, everyone nearby could see it. He’d managed to show off once again!

”This is the Merit Hell Gate. Go and reincarnate into a good family,” he said to the twins.

”Thank you, Taoist Master! Thank you, Taoist Master!” they responded.

With the matter finally settled, Chu Hao was about to leave, but Wang Yu grabbed him, his face streaked with snot and tears, crying heartbrokenly.

Chu Hao was startled. ”What’s the matter?”

Wang Yu nearly knelt on the floor, pleading, ”Brother Hao, you have to save us! We can’t find our grandfather’s body; what’s our family going to do?”

Wang Jianyu also looked worried.

Chu Hao said indifferently, ”Your grandfather’s corpse transformation is just that. He probably won’t harm you for the time being, but it’s hard to say what will happen later.”

Wang Jianguo was the sensible one. He quickly said, ”Taoist Master, please help us. Money is no object.”

At the mention of money, Chu Hao’s eyes lit up. He cleared his throat and said, ”Actually, this Taoist Master doesn’t really have a concept of money... um, just give whatever you think is appropriate.”

Fang Jingxue rolled her eyes from the side. That guy! He clearly wants money but is still putting on an aloof front, she thought.

Wang Jianguo, however, was delighted. He wasn’t short on cash, and as long as the matter could be settled, money was no problem.

True to his nature as a sly old businessman, Wang Jianguo said, ”Taoist Master, here’s a card. It just has a little ’pocket money’ in it. I know that for an esteemed person like yourself, money is merely an earthly possession, so... it’s not too much.”

”Mm, a small token of your regard is fine,” Chu Hao said, pocketing the card without blushing or his heart skipping a beat.

Fang Jingxue, standing aside, felt utterly bewildered. Are they all just going to pretend I’m not here? I’m a police officer!

Wang Jianguo immediately beamed. ”Taoist Master, I’m not sure how to contact you in the future. How about we exchange phone numbers?”

”Hmm, this is my number,” Chu Hao said, taking out an old, cheap phone he’d bought for ninety-nine yuan. ”But this phone often runs out of battery. If you can’t reach me, call Old Mo. He’s the one who introduced me.”

Wang Jianguo slapped Wang Yu on the head. ”Go! Bring that new phone I just bought and give it to the Taoist Master.”

Wang Yu sprinted out like an arrow, incredibly quick on his feet.

”Oh, I couldn’t possibly accept this,” Chu Hao said, feigning embarrassment.

Chu Hao held the brand new iPhone 7 Plus, instantly captivated by it and reluctant to put it down. This phone is way better than my old clunker!

Fang Jingxue felt like she was about to lose it. Is this really okay? Are they just going to ignore my presence completely?free we\bnove(l).com

After leaving the villa, Fang Jingxue intercepted Chu Hao.

With a look of resignation, Chu Hao said, ”What is it now, Officer? Can’t I even go home?”

Fang Jingxue cleared her throat. ”Um... I have a favor to ask of you.”

”What favor?” Chu Hao seemed puzzled.

Fang Jingxue looked at him with big, hopeful eyes, as deep and vast as a starry ocean. ”I want to become your disciple.”

Chu Hao was taken aback. A disciple?!

Chu Hao was vexed. I have the Ghost-Catching System. If you become my disciple, what on earth could I teach you?

”No,” Chu Hao refused decisively.

Fang Jingxue grew angry. ”Why not!” she said indignantly, her cheeks puffing slightly. ”I insist on becoming your disciple! I’ve been interested in these things since I was young. I don’t just want to catch criminals; I want to catch evil ghosts too!”

Chu Hao broke into a cold sweat. This girl was too intense! Catching criminals was already a handful, and now she wanted to catch evil ghosts too? He then said firmly, ”No.”

Chu Hao turned and walked away, almost fleeing. Is this policewoman out of her mind? Shouldn’t she be focused on catching criminals instead of meddling with ghosts?

Behind him, Fang Jingxue shouted, ”I absolutely will become your disciple!”
