Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 794: 793 Ranran, I am here

At the top of the MS Group Building.

The CEO’s office is quiet enough to hear a pin drop.

Mo Xiuchen leans his tall body into the high-end leather swivel chair, his large hand holding a mobile phone. He’s not making calls, and he’s not sending messages. He appears lost in thought, a faint trace of loneliness visible on his face.

His mind, devoid of past memories, isn’t muddled, but rather conveys a profound solitude. His thoughts wandered back to the night before when he was with Wen Ran. He felt his mood swaying in harmony with her joy and his deep eyes unconsciously softened.

He didn’t believe a word of what Mo Jingteng had said.

Unreasonably, he affirmed that Ranran would not betray him.

...
The look in her eyes, full of struggle and anguish, coupled with restrained fondness, how could she betray him?

That man named Qin Mu, he could tell, he did like Ranran. Beyond that, there was likely nothing more…

In his hollow heart resided a slender silhouette, a beautiful and delicate face, and a pair of eyes clear as water. He pursed his thin lips and dialed that number.

Suddenly, he yearned for her.

He wanted to hear her voice. Although he had just returned from City C and had upset her to tears, he wanted to hear her voice. His intuition told him that Ranran would not ignore him.

She used to be his wife, they should have been deeply in love. He didn’t want to learn about their love from media reports or from other people’s mouths. He thought to himself, if I can’t retrieve my memory, then I’ll fall in love with her again.

Only when he truly falls in love with Ranran, would he feel that he’s been fair to her.

When the call connected, he unexpectedly felt a touch of anxiety. His fingers clutching the phone unconsciously tightened.

Perhaps it was due to the memory loss, he felt a bit uncertain.

In fact, his intuition was right. No matter how conflicted Wen Ran was, she could never truly refuse Mo Xiuchen, she couldn’t possibly ignore him.

When the mobile phone rang, she was still on her way to the company. Because her home was close, she had gone home for lunch today.

During her days in City C, she seldom cooked for herself. Most of the time, it was due to laziness. Sometimes she would eat out for lunch, and other times, she would dine in the company’s cafeteria.

But at noon today, she refused the lunch invitation from Qin Mu and An Lin, bought groceries, and cooked at home.

Seeing the caller ID, Wen Ran’s heart inexplicably skipped a beat. She pressed her lips together, pressed the answer button, and a soft, calm voice flowed from her lips, “Hello!”

“Ranran, have you had lunch?”

Hearing Wen Ran’s voice, Mo Xiuchen’s unease disappeared instantly, and a faint smile surfaced on his thin lips.

Wen Ran’s emotions were uncontrollably influenced. Hearing the low and pleasant voice over the phone, a radiant smile bloomed in her eyes. Not dazzling, but that gentle charm made the flowers on the roadside trees pale in comparison.

“I’ve had lunch. What about you?”

“I’ve also eaten. Ranran, I want to tell you some good news.”

“What good news?”

Wen Ran asked, pausing in her steps, her gaze settling on the unnamed flower tree by the roadside. Looking at those abundant purple petals, she couldn’t help but think of the flower seedlings she had planted in the countryside.

“You hate Cheng Jia, right? I’ve sorted her out for you. Would you like to hear how I did it?”

From the other end of the phone, Mo Xiuchen’s low and joyful laughter came through. Affecting Wen Ran, “Really? Then tell me, how did you sort her out?”

Wen Ran’s voice was filled with curiosity. Hearing this, Mo Xiuchen felt even better. He raised his handsome eyebrows and said with a smile, “I ordered a full table of dishes for lunch and had her walk from home to the restaurant, you know how her foot hurts, she even tripped halfway.”

“Really?”

Wen Ran couldn’t help but laugh.

The image of Mo Xiuchen’s handsome face popped up in her mind, making her heart feel a surge of softness.

“Yes, you should have seen her face when she ate those Sichuan dishes. It was as if she had gone through hell.” Mo Xiuchen paused here, heard Wen Ran laugh over the phone. He put his laughter away and said softly: “Ranran, I’ve fired Cheng Jia, I’m going to let the finance department pay her salary this afternoon.”

“Huh?”

Caught by surprise, Wen Ran asked subconsciously: “Why?”

“I saw a newspaper article about Cheng Jia, it was news about her and Little Liu from last year. So, she and I have nothing to do with each other now.”

Hearing this from Mo Xiuchen, Wen Ran’s hand shook, she almost dropped her phone.

She bit her lips tightly, not knowing what to say or daring to speak. It was as if a gust of wind had suddenly blown through her heart, churning huge waves…

She couldn’t understand how he could have found a newspaper from last year and learned about Cheng Jia and Little Liu. So, does that mean he also knows they used to be married?

Her mind was in chaos, she couldn’t remember if that newspaper only had news about Cheng Jia, or if it mentioned anything about her and him.

The conversation suddenly fell silent.

Mo Xiuchen on the other end of the call seemed to be waiting for her answer, while also thinking about what to say next.

After a while, it was still Mo Xiuchen who broke the silence. His voice coming through lowly, “Ranran, I already know about our relationship.”

Wen Ran’s heart skipped a beat, a trace of bitterness spreading from her heart.

She struggled to conjure up a smile, her voice gently, soft yet calm, betraying no hint of sadness, “Xiuchen, it’s all in the past.”

“Yes, it’s all in the past.”

Mo Xiuchen echoed her words, his tone still gentle, “Don’t worry, I will not coerce you into anything.”

Wen Ran blinked her eyes in confusion, unable to understand how she was feeling. She knew that one day Xiuchen would inevitably find out, but when he confessed that he knew about their past relationship, she couldn’t remain nonchalant.

“Xiuchen.”

Wen Ran called out gently.

“Ranran, I’m here.”

Mo Xiuchen responded gently over the phone. He was pained by her gentle tone, he couldn’t see her expression at that moment, but he could feel the conflict and struggle in her heart.

When he said “I’m here,” he was telling her that he had returned.

Although, he still didn’t know what had happened before, but he knew that the days when he was in D Country with Cheng Jia, must have been very difficult for her.

He regretted forgetting her, how could he let her be sad.

“Ranran, let’s start over, okay?”

He pursed his lips and asked softly. He thought, she said so in the morning because she was blaming him for forgetting her, for letting Cheng Jia stay by his side for so long, for having that kind of relationship with Cheng Jia.

Now, he has already handled the matter with Cheng Jia. He did not say let her return to his side, but said “let’s start over.”

Because, he doesn’t have the memories from the past.
