Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 792: I really hate her.

Mo Xiuchen walked out of the restaurant and dialled Mo Jingteng’s number on his phone.

After a few seconds, Mo Jingteng’s voice came through, carrying a touch of authority, sinking heavily into his ears. “Hello, Xiuchen.”

“Dad, I’m back.”

A hint of hesitation passed through Mo Xiuchen’s eyes, and the word “dad” could seem indistinguishable unless one listened closely.

However, when he called out “Dad”, there seemed to be a layer of frost in his eyes.

Hearing that he was back, Mo Jingteng was happy and immediately asked, “Xiuchen, did you just land? I will send the driver to pick you up.”

...
“No need to pick me up, Dad. I’ll go straight to the office after lunch.”

Mo Xiuchen paused slightly before reopening his mouth, his voice carrying a trace of coldness: “I just fired Cheng Jia, Dad, she won’t have any relation to me from now on.”

“Ah, you fired Cheng Jia? Why, Xiuchen? Did she upset you again?”

“I really can’t stand her, you wouldn’t object, right?” Mo Xiuchen’s lips curled in coldness. Cheng Jia would definitely call Mo Jingteng.

“No, you can do whatever you want.”

Back at the Mo’s mansion, Mo Jingteng hung up the phone. After a moment of reflection, he dialled Cheng Jia’s number.

He was a little uneasy. Mo Xiuchen’s sudden decision to fire Cheng Jia made him wonder if something had happened. That morning, he said he had some personal matters to attend to. Could it be that he was investigating his own past?

If that was the case…

At this thought, a touch of chill flashed in Mo Jingteng’s eyes. He couldn’t let Mo Xiuchen delve into his past.

The phone rang a few times before Cheng Jia answered. Without waiting for her to respond, Mo Jingteng queried, “Cheng Jia, what did you do to upset Xiuchen? He just called me, said he was going to fire you.”

“Chairman, you must help me.” Cheng Jia’s voice came across, filled with the sound of weeping, and pitiful to hear.

Mo Jingteng sneered coldly and said disdainfully, “You’re really useless. In the two months you’ve been in D Country, not only did you fail to win Xiuchen’s heart, you couldn’t even keep him. Now you’re getting fired by him, I can’t help you.”

“Chairman, you might not help me, but you can’t not help yourself. If Xiuchen finds out about his past, do you think he will still obediently follow your orders and help you acquire Haochen?”

Cheng Jia regained her composure. Regardless of whether Mo Jingteng would help her or not, she was determined to try her best.

Things didn’t go as she expected, she was left without a way out.

“You dare to threaten me?” Mo Jingteng was instantly angered, his voice cold and bone-chilling.

“I’m not threatening you, Chairman. I’m just kindly reminding you. Xiuchen has been investigating his past. He mentioned firing me because he found out about that night last year when I was with Little Liu. He showed me the newspaper. Perhaps, he knows more than we think.”

“Are you telling the truth?”

Mo Jingteng asked somewhat nervously.

He had been sensing that there was a reason, and as expected, there really was a reason.

However, he was surprised by the reason. Why would Xiuchen suddenly investigate the past and even find the newspaper related to Cheng Jia? Could it be that he really knows everything now?

“Chairman, I didn’t lie to you.”

“I understand. Don’t be restless, and don’t do anything rash. Wait for me to question Xiuchen before making any decisions.”

**

What Mo Xiuchen knew was actually not much.

At least, not as much as Mo Jingteng and Cheng Jia were worried about.

The fact that he found out about Cheng Jia’s scandal from last year was a coincidence; he had seen it when he got out of the taxi.

According to the driver, it had been left by the previous passenger.

The driver, seeing Mo Xiuchen pick up the newspaper, chuckled, “This was left by a lady passenger from earlier. It’s old news. I really wonder what goes on in these women’s minds these days?”

“Oh, why do you say that?”

Mo Xiuchen scanned the headline on the front page of the newspaper and was slightly taken aback.

“That lady mentioned that she knew Cheng Jia, the one in the news. I heard that last year she tried to seduce the new president of MS Group, Mo Xiuchen, ended up involved with his driver for a night, and was reported for the scandal. But half a year later, she had ended up the fiancée of Mo Xiuchen, even forcing Mo Xiuchen to divorce his wife, Wen Ran.”

“Mo Xiuchen, he was married before?”

Mo Xiuchen looked at the driver in surprise, lowered his head and started to read the newspaper.

The driver was talkative, and immediately passed on the story he had heard. But, because he knew so little, he told even less, and Mo Xiuchen was left puzzled.

But he could grasp the critical point: somehow Cheng Jia forced him to divorce Ranran…

Finally, he understood why he couldn’t like Cheng Jia, not only that, but he also felt disgusted. However, when it came to Ranran, he seemed to be etched in his heart from the first sight.

No wonder he followed her unconsciously on the streets of D Country.

Standing outside the hotel, when he appeared in front of Ranran, her eyes were so complex, surprised, and delighted…

The person he had continuously forgotten was Wen Ran.

His feelings were correct. Although he couldn’t remember the past and didn’t know the story between them, he was sure that he must have loved Ranran deeply in the past.

Mo Xiuchen returned to the office before working hours. As he walked into the office, he saw Mo Jingteng sitting there.

A sharp glint crossed his eyes as he maintained an impassive expression, “Dad, why are you here?”

Mo Jingteng stood up with a smile; a sharp look hidden behind his gentle stare. His gaze stayed on Mo Xiuchen for two seconds before he laughed, “I guessed you’d be here before work hours, so I decided to come over. There are some matters I’d like to understand.”

Mo Xiuchen simply responded, “What matters?”

“Xiuchen, sit down and we’ll talk.”

After saying that, Mo Jingteng took his seat again.

Mo Xiuchen walked over and sat on the sofa next to him. Only then did Mo Jingteng say, testing the waters, “Xiuchen, you mentioned on the phone that you will break up with Cheng Jia and fire her. I immediately called her after. She told me you have seen last year’s report.”

“Hmm.”

A hint of frost passed over Mo Xiuchen’s face.

Mo Jingteng was keeping an eye on him, monitoring every subtle change in his expression. Seeing that his attitude was still as respectful as two months ago, Mo Jingteng was unable to gauge how much he knew.

“Xiuchen, the incident between Cheng Jia and Little Liu was truly a misunderstanding.”

Mo Jingteng paused before testing further, “Xiuchen, why don’t you tell me what you know, so I can tell you what you might not be aware of.”

“Dad, I don’t know much, I just happened to see that newspaper and it was just a coincidence that made me aware of Cheng Jia’s actions.”
