Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 783: 782 Visit Her Home in the Early Morning

“Ranran?”

Mo Xiuchen’s deep-set eyes narrowed slightly, calling out with puzzlement.

He found that this little woman in front of him was easily distracted, often daydreaming because of his casual words.

Wen Ran’s thoughts were interrupted by him, she lowered her eyes and quietly said: “Aren’t you driving me home? Turn left after the traffic light ahead.”

“Okay.”

Mo Xiuchen replied and sat up straight to start the car.

...
The apartment where Wen Ran lived was indeed not far from his hotel, only a two-minute drive away.

After stopping the car, he got out and chivalrously opened the car door for Wen Ran.

In front of the floor-to-ceiling window on the fifth floor of the apartment, Qin Mu stood after lifting a corner of the curtain, taking in the scene below.

There was a hint of bitterness on his lightly pursed lips as his gaze fell upon the two figures standing by the car below, one his good friend, the other, the woman he had silently loved

Under the dim street lamp, their silhouettes were almost intertwined. He couldn’t hear what they were saying, and he couldn’t discern their expressions clearly. However, he could feel that the atmosphere around Mo Xiuchen and Ranran was tender.

The corner of his mouth curved into a faint smile, and he wasn’t sure if his heart held joy or sorrow.

That Mo Xiuchen could still find Ranran after losing his memory, he should rejoice for them. He understood that no matter what poisonous oath Wen Ran made or how far rationally wanted to push Mo Xiuchen away, in the end, she couldn’t resist him.

In front of the car, Mo Xiuchen handed Wen Ran the take-away barbecue. Wen Ran smiled and said, “It’s very late. You should go back to the hotel.”

He nodded in agreement but didn’t move.

Wen Ran also felt a strong sense of reluctance in her heart. Although he was staying at a nearby hotel, and they might see each other tomorrow, she still couldn’t bear it.

She didn’t want him to leave her sight.

For a moment it felt like time had stood still. The two of them stood silently looking at each other, neither saying a word.

The atmosphere between them subtly changing.

The wind brushed past Wen Ran’s ear, sweeping up her dark hair, sending a strand flying onto her face. A hint of tenderness flickered in Mo Xiuchen’s eyes. Instinctively, he reached out towards her.

Just as his hand was about to touch Wen Ran’s cheek, she abruptly took a step back, avoiding his movement. Mo Xiuchen’s hand froze mid-air, and a strange feeling welled up in his heart. He softly called her, “Ranran!”

Wen Ran was jolted awake by this soft call. A flash of panic passed through her eyes, she quickly said, “I’m going upstairs first,” and turned to leave.

Mo Xiuchen didn’t stop her. Instead, he stood in front of the car, his deep-set eyes following her slender figure retreating into the distance, a certain part of his heart echoing with unease.

He could sense Wen Ran’s deep feelings for him.

However, he could also clearly see her avoidance. He was unsure how he had hurt her in the past, which led her to keep her distance from him. Yet, even with his memory loss, he felt drawn to her, almost a case of love at first sight.

Under these circumstances, how could he possibly comply with her wishes?

Instead of using the elevator, Wen Ran climbed the stairs home.

After entering the living room, she placed the barbecue on the coffee table. After pondering for a moment, she walked towards the window, peeked through the curtains, and saw Mo Xiuchen leaning against his car, looking up towards her apartment.

Upon seeing her at the window, he finally smiled contentedly, gently waved at her, bent down to get into the car, and drove off after a while.

Back at the coffee table, Wen Ran uncovered the barbeque take-away ready to start eating, when there was a knock at the door.

She paused, got up to answer the door.

Outside the door, Qin Mu stood in a crisp suit and tie. He must have been waiting for her to come home all this while, hence he was still in his work attire, he hadn’t even taken a bath yet.

“It seems like I can smell barbecue. Ranran, did you bring it for me?”

With a gentle smile on his face, Qin Mu looked past Wen Ran towards the living room, and asked mildly.

Wen Ran stepped aside to let him in, and went back to sit on the sofa.

Qin Mu, after closing the door, went straight to the kitchen. He brought back two pairs of chopsticks, settled on the other sofa, reached for the barbecue, tasted a piece of meat, and commented, “Not bad. Ranran, Mo Xiuchen just had surgery three months ago, he shouldn’t be eating barbecue, should he?”

Wen Ran blinked, reached out to pull back the barbecue she had already served him, and frowned, “You’re not in perfect health either, you shouldn’t be eating this.”

“As if your health is any better than mine.”

Qin Mu joked, but didn’t try to grab it back, instead he put down the chopsticks and casually asked, “Did Mo Xiuchen drive your car away?”

“Yes, you saw?”

Wen Ran got up and poured a glass of water for Qin Mu, sat back on the sofa, smelled the barbecue, felt like eating it again, so she picked up the chopsticks, grabbed a piece of enoki mushroom, and put it in her mouth.

“Ranran, either throw the barbecue away so nobody eats it, or we share it equally. It’s unbearable for me to watch you eat alone.”

Qin Mu protested unhappily.

Wen Ran hesitated for a few seconds, gave him a glare, picked up the two boxes of barbecue and threw them into the garbage can, and grumbled, “I had only eaten a few bites and had to throw the rest away. It’s such a waste.”

Qin Mu couldn’t help but chuckle, “I’ll just treat you to some next time. Mo Xiuchen came to City C other than finding you, he didn’t have any other business, right?”

“For LD’s bid.”

“Does he know you’re working at Haochen?”

Qin Mu raised an eyebrow, asking softly.

Wen Ran shook her head, “He doesn’t know. I didn’t tell him.”

Qin Mu nodded, picked up the glass of water in front of him and drained it, stood up and said, “It’s late. You should rest early. Since Mo Xiuchen’s lost his memory, he should find City C unfamiliar. Stay with him more for the next few days, don’t go to work.”

**

The next morning, Wen Ran was woken by the sound of the doorbell.

Last night, after Qin Mu had left, she had lied in bed unable to fall asleep, tossing and turning, Mo Xiuchen’s handsome face looming in her mind, unable to shake it off.

She only managed to fall asleep in the middle of the night, only to be startled awake by the doorbell early in the morning. She opened her eyes and checked her phone, it was not even eight o’clock yet.

This meant that she barely slept for six hours.

Wen Ran got out of bed yawning, walked to the door, and when she saw the handsome face outside through the peephole, her heart involuntarily skipped a beat, then lost its rhythm.

The person standing outside was unmistakably Mo Xiuchen who had chased her to City C last night.

He had been on a plane for twenty hours, he should have been very tired. Why was he here ringing her doorbell so early?

Could it be that he stood in front of the car last night, waiting for her to go upstairs and turn on the light, just for this?

Wen Ran glanced at her pajamas, told the person outside to “wait for two minutes”, then rushed back to the bedroom to change clothes. She quickly washed her face, brushed her teeth, tidied her hair and then opened the door.

Seeing the one person at the door had turned into two, Wen Ran was stunned.
