Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 21: Chapter 21 The Beginning of the Scandal: 21

”Xiao Yun, this is Chief Editor Chen of ’Victor’.”

Zhou Lan introduced to Zhou Yun first.

Zhou Yun greeted her with a smile, ”Chief Editor Chen, hello, I’m Zhou Yun. Thank you for this opportunity. Today’s shoot was unforgettable.”

As the editor of a fashion magazine, Chen Ting was thin and quite old, but her silver hair was neatly combed, and she wore a black women’s suit, making her figure tall and spirited, especially her eyes, which were sharp like a chiseled crevice.

”Just call me Sister Ting,” Chen Ting said, putting her hand on Zhou Yun’s shoulder with a serious face that softened into a smile, ”You handled the scandal swiftly, and didn’t covet others’ fame and spotlight. I appreciate you.”

Zhou Yun was a bit unsure how to respond to such direct praise in person and could only maintain her smile.

”Tomorrow night, I will host a private party. If you are available, you are welcome to come,” Chen Ting said, taking an invitation from her handbag and handing it to Zhou Yun, with a slight smile, ”All attendees are some friends from the mainland. We can have some drinks and chat.”

Seeing the glow in Zhou Lan’s eyes, Zhou Yun knew the invitation must be very precious. She accepted it gracefully and said, ”Thank you, Sister Ting, I will definitely attend.”

Only old-school individuals like Chen Ting still opt for invitations in this era.

Yet, many people feel that only such old-fashion traditions can reflect true style and status.

After leaving the film set and getting into the car, Zhou Lan immediately exclaimed, ”Zhou Yun, you have really caught Chen Ting’s eye, earning her favor! Do you know how many people desire her invitations but can’t get one?”

Zhou Yun: ”Really? I actually don’t know much about ’Victor’.”

”’Victor’ the magazine itself isn’t important; what matters is Chen Ting herself. She is very well-known within the circle and has a very mysterious background. Many young people soared in their careers thanks to her favor,” Zhou Lan explained, ”She likes to help the young people she favors. Like Song Chi, it’s said he was spotted by her discerning eye, recommended to her friends, and then seized the opportunity to rise.”

Zhou Yun frowned.

”Song Chi again?”

”What’s wrong?”

Zhou Yun said, ”His name keeps coming up these days.”

”That makes sense. Most of the job opportunities you’ve got recently were because of that trending topic with him,” Zhou Lan said. ”Others don’t know you, they only know about your scandal with him.”

”Alright then.”

”Where is it tomorrow night?” Zhou Lan asked again, her face filled with longing.

Zhou Yun took out the invitation Chen Ting had given her and answered, ”Guanghan Mansion.”

Zhou Lan nodded, ”I’ll arrange for a driver to pick us up tomorrow night. I wonder who else will be there.”

Zhou Yun lazily put the invitation back into her handbag and said, ”As long as it’s not Song Chi, it’ll be fine.”

Zhou Lan laughed, the fine wrinkles at the corner of her eyes showing, ”Don’t say that, you might actually see him there. Like I told you, Song Chi’s success today is hugely related to Chen Ting.”

”Then I’ll be really doomed,” Zhou Yun sighed.

Song Chi was the last person Zhou Yun wanted to see now.

Facing Song Chi, Zhou Yun still felt a bit guilty.
