Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 3: Chapter 3: The Beginning of the Scandal: 03

The news on the internet was abuzz, but Zhou Yun remained calm.

Because she knew the scandal was fake, a statement or clarification could clear it up easily.

The so-called ”staying in the same hotel” was purely coincidental.

Zhou Yun didn’t have much time to think about it either, she had a show to record in the afternoon, which Zhou Lan had put a lot of effort into securing for her, a popular variety show.

She was beautiful and had a straightforward personality, according to Zhou Lan’s thinking, Zhou Yun could easily attract fans with her own charm.

But the entertainment industry isn’t that simple, nor is there a fixed template for becoming famous, and after some effort, Zhou Yun still hadn’t made any impression on the public.

Fortunately, Zhou Lan was very capable, and Zhou Yun’s work never stopped, constantly moving from place to place, so she didn’t have to worry about unemployment.

Close to noon, Zhou Lan arrived with the makeup artist.

As soon as they entered, Zhou Lan greeted the makeup artist to apply makeup to Zhou Yun, while instructing ”make sure it’s waterproof, these outdoor game variety shows make it easy to sweat”, she then noticed a red mark on Zhou Yun’s neck and exclaimed with surprise: ”Zhou Yun, what’s this on your neck?”

Prompted by Zhou Lan, Zhou Yun then noticed the reddish mark on her neck.

”I scratched it, there were a lot of mosquitoes at the filming location yesterday.”

Zhou Lan’s look, however, was filled with suspicion.

The makeup artist’s gaze was the same.

If it weren’t for the sudden outbreak of the scandal this morning, this explanation would have been accepted normally, but now...

Zhou Lan slightly frowned, seemed to want to say something, but hesitated because the makeup artist was still present.

Zhou Yun, however, saw through what they were both thinking.

”Don’t overthink it you two, this is just a mosquito bite that I scratched myself, it’s not any ’strawberry mark’, don’t jump to conclusions,” Zhou Yun immediately said.

Zhou Lan and the makeup artist were both familiar with her, Zhou Yun spoke quite casually, without concern.

Sister Mei, the makeup artist, chuckled and said: ”Honestly, for someone with Xiao Yun’s looks, it wouldn’t be surprising if Song Chi took a fancy to her.”

Zhou Yun hastily replied: ”Sister Mei, please don’t say such things, there’s really nothing between him and me.”

Once the makeup was done and clothes were changed, Zhou Yun was ready to leave.

Zhou Lan personally drove Zhou Yun to the recording location.

The company hadn’t provided Zhou Yun with a driver or assistant yet, some tasks required Zhou Lan’s personal involvement. There was no other way, the director of the program was a friend of Zhou Lan’s, otherwise, she couldn’t have squeezed Zhou Yun into the show as a flying guest. Zhou Lan was ready to personally make a greeting, besides, Zhou Yun was currently in the eye of the storm, receiving surprising attention, probably with many paparazzi watching her. Zhou Lan couldn’t rest easy with Zhou Yun acting alone.

She knew this young lady well, despite appearing delicate and beautiful, she’s really a firecracker.

”Our statement will be issued soon, after the company releases the statement later, don’t respond to anything on Weibo, don’t say anything, just let this heat die down. For this kind of matter, if it were true, you could profit from it and it could even develop your career, but since it’s a scandal and it’s fabricated, it’s best not to get involved at all, to avoid trouble,” Zhou Lan said quietly to Zhou Yun.

They walked through the hallway to the elevator.

Zhou Yun asked: ”Has Song Chi’s side not issued a statement yet?”

Zhou Lan also frowned with confusion: ”That’s strange indeed, they should be reacting and moving faster, why is there still no movement? It’s not even true.”

As her words fell, the elevator door opened, and right there inside was the male protagonist of their previous conversation unexpectedly facing them.
