Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 7: Chapter 7 The Beginning of the Scandal: 07

Upon arriving at the filming site, they happened to encounter someone who had just finished shooting.

Zhou Yun recognized her; she was Lew Qingqing, the regular MC of ”What a Nice Weather”.

Lew Qingqing has been quite popular these years, and her rise to fame was thanks to the variety show ”What a Nice Weather”.

She was very beautiful, with exceptionally delicate features, one of those glittering jewels on the red carpet.

Several people were following Lew Qingqing, and they met at the entrance.

Zhou Yun stepped aside and smiled.

Unexpectedly, Lew Qingqing stopped, looked at her thoughtfully, and with a smile, said, ”You’re today’s special guest, aren’t you?”

Zhou Yun didn’t expect Lew Qingqing to initiate a greeting.

In this circle, there were indeed some hierarchies.

Popular celebrities only mingled with other popular celebrities. Someone like Zhou Yun, a third-tier minor celebrity, and the likes weren’t in the same world; on camera they might be friends, but off camera, a polite exchange or two, realistically speaking, and they’d turn their backs as if they were strangers.

Zhou Yun had heard that Lew Qingqing didn’t have the best temper, so why would she take the initiative to greet her today?

The answer wasn’t hard to guess.

”Sister Qingqing, hello, I’m Zhou Yun.” Zhou Yun called her Sister.

Lew Qingqing asked, ”Are you here for the promotional photoshoot?”

”Yes.” Zhou Yun nodded and smiled obediently.

Lew Qingqing nodded, ”Then hurry up and get it done, we’re about to start recording the show soon, don’t cause a delay.”

”Okay.”

With that, the pleasantries concluded.

After exiting the filming site, Lew Qingqing’s smile faded.

”I heard some paparazzi disguised as a crew member barged into Zhou Yun’s dressing room just now,” Lew Qingqing’s assistant shared the gossip they had heard.

A hint of mockery appeared at the corner of Lew Qingqing’s mouth, and she said, ”Being rumored with Song Chi naturally raises one’s popularity.”

...

Before the official recording of the show began, the director arranged for all the guests of this episode to meet.

There were a total of four special guests for this episode’s recording, two were well-established artists, and the other two, including Zhou Yun, were newcomers who had just debuted.

On the surface, everyone greeted each other harmoniously, acquainted with each other, but not overly enthusiastic. When the actual recording started, they had to redo the greetings on camera, this time with much more warmth.

When it was Zhou Yun’s turn to enter, she ran out with a sweet smile and walked into the camera frame.

”Wow, my heart is fluttering!”

”She’s even prettier than in her photos!”

”She reminds me of my first love.”

”Lew Qingqing, step aside, I want to team up with Zhou Yun today!”

...

The regular MCs began to overact, and Lew Qingqing pretended to hit someone in annoyance with her western dress.

At this time, Zhou Yun could only smile shyly. Bathed in sunlight, her sweet smile made her seem like a youthful girl straight out of a campus.

”Welcome Zhou Yun!”

Laughter and chatter followed.

After the opening shoot ended, everyone began to change their clothes for the first game segment.

The dressing rooms prepared by the production team were makeshift. There was one area for men, another for women. For this episode, there were two female regular MCs, Lew Qingqing and Su Yan, and two female special guests, Zhou Yun and the well-known singer Chen Quanying.

The four women entered their respective booths to change into sportswear and then gathered in front of the mirror to check their makeup and hair.

Zhou Yun was the last to come out, and Lew Qingqing was chatting and laughing with Chen Quanying.

”Sister Ying, you’ve slimmed down further since the last time I saw you.”

Chen Quanying, straightforward and currently touching up her lipstick, retorted,

”Nonsense, I haven’t lost a bit.”

Lew Qingqing looked a bit embarrassed, laughed, and said, ”I really think you’ve slimmed down.”

Su Yan chuckled disdainfully and glanced at Lew Qingqing through the mirror, commenting, ”Sister Ying isn’t one for flattery, you should save those Kung Fu moves.”

Zhou Yun’s pupils shrank, and for a moment, she didn’t dare to step forward.

She had heard about the discord between Lew Qingqing and Su Yan, but she hadn’t expected that off-camera, their relationship had deteriorated to the point of direct confrontation, without even a pretense of civility.

With an innocent smile, Lew Qingqing said, ”I wasn’t flattering, Sister Ying really does look like she’s lost weight.”

Zhou Yun thought it was best to hide on the side and play dumb.

Little did she know, at this moment, Lew Qingqing turned and looked over, ”Zhou Yun, what do you think?”

”...” Zhou Yun smiled awkwardly, but noticed Su Yan watching her with a playful look, seemingly curious about what Zhou Yun would say.

The most troublesome thing at work might be just this kind of situation.

It had nothing to do with her, yet two opposing people demanded she take a side.

In that split-second, Zhou Yun felt that no matter what she said it wouldn’t be right; she’d offend someone, so she continued to play dumb with a puzzled look, ”Huh? What?”

She pretended she hadn’t heard their conversation.

”Aren’t we about to leave? The director just said we have ten minutes.”

Neither Lew Qingqing nor Su Yan responded, both curving their lips in a smile.

At that moment, Chen Quanying finished touching up her lipstick. She put away her lipstick into her little purse, turned around, looked at Zhou Yun, and chuckled, ”You’re the one involved in the scandal with Song Chi today, right?”

Zhou Yun approached politely, ”Sister Ying, hello, I’m Zhou Yun.”

Chen Quanying asked, ”Are you two really dating?”

Zhou Yun shook her head, somewhat helpless, ”It’s all nonsense made up by the paparazzi, I don’t even know him.”

Chen Quanying laughed heartily, ”I knew it, these paparazzi really have no class, saying anything they please, fabricating anything they want.”

She called out, ”Now that you’ve changed, let’s head out, don’t keep the others waiting.”

Using this as an excuse, Zhou Yun followed Chen Quanying out of the small dressing room.

On her way out, she looked back at Lew Qingqing and Su Yan.

Su Yan looked at her coldly, her gaze somewhat repelling.

Was she blaming her for not taking her side just now?

Zhou Yun pretended not to notice, smiled, and said to them both, ”We’re heading out first.”
