Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 18: Chapter 18 The Beginning of the Scandal: 18

Yu Sitian walked onto the red carpet and waved to everyone with a bright smile.

The reporters also supported her highly, giving her enthusiastic shouts.

”Look over here!”

”Sitian, this way! Smile!”

...

Although Zhou Yun also received enthusiastic shouts from the reporters just now, a comparison quickly revealed the difference.

The reporters were more supportive of Yu Sitian.

This was because, in the eyes of the reporters, Yu Sitian and Zhou Yun were different. Yu Sitian was a newcomer actress with works, while Zhou Yun was a celebrity who rose to fame through scandals.

Although in a sense, popularity and traffic were also the bread and butter for reporters, professional ideals and ethics still influenced them to do positive and proactive things within their capacity.

For instance, supporting a newcomer actress like Yu Sitian.

Zhou Yun stood straight, no matter what she thought inside, she had to put on a perfect facade.

She needed to manage her image and expression well.

She maintained a smile, and waited until Yu Sitian walked over and sat down beside her.

Under everyone’s watchful eyes, the two exchanged a tacit smile.

”Shameless,” Yu Sitian said softly with a smile hanging on her lips, yet her words were harsh.

Zhou Yun looked at her in surprise and asked softly, ”Have I offended you in some way?”

”Hmph, still acting innocent?” Yu Sitian said, ”I’ve seen plenty of women like you. After knowing the hotel where Brother Chi was staying, you went over deliberately, contacted the paparazzi for secret photos, stirred up scandals to boost popularity, then played innocent and issued clarifying statements as if you were the victim. You’re disgusting.”

Zhou Yun was stunned.

The puzzlement she couldn’t resolve stemmed from the inexplicable scandal from the day before yesterday, and obviously, Yu Sitian took it as a publicity stunt orchestrated by her.

But Zhou Yun didn’t defend herself, instead, she smiled faintly and asked slowly, ”Do you like Song Chi?”

Yu Sitian’s cheeks and ears instantly turned red.

Her eyes panicked, and she denied vehemently, ”What are you talking about? I’m just standing up for Brother Chi. He was innocently slandered by someone as scheming as you.”

”Miss Sitian, claims should be supported by evidence.”

”Heh.” Yu Sitian scoffed disdainfully.

”Keep scoffing, and you’ll be the one to issue a clarifying statement,” Zhou Yun reminded.

Yu Sitian’s expression stiffened momentarily. She hesitated, then collected herself and resumed her smile.

”The matter between me and Song Chi has no basis, yet you speak as if you know it all. Unless you like Song Chi and are biased, I would think you’re being foolish from what you just said. Even if you like Song Chi, that’s no excuse for your baseless accusations and attacks. If it were a stunt I orchestrated myself, don’t you think your Brother Chi would confront me?”

Yu Sitian argued, ”That’s because Brother Chi is kind-hearted and doesn’t bother with you!”

”Ha.” Zhou Yun laughed contemptuously.

She indeed wished Yu Sitian could have seen Luo Yuhu’s expression just now.

Is that called kindness?

But forget it, Yu Sitian was clearly infatuated, probably wouldn’t snap out of it anytime soon.

Perhaps, she would even think the farts Song Chi let out smell pleasant.

At this moment, the loudest commotion erupted from the media side.

It was known at once, Song Chi had arrived.

From a distance, Song Chi was dressed in a black suit, not like he was attending an opening ceremony for a brand store, but rather like he was attending an award ceremony.

But indeed very handsome, displaying youthful and self-confident charm in every movement.

Yu Sitian’s eyes instantly drifted over, her gaze fixed.

Zhou Yun found it amusing.

Yu Sitian’s behavior was so obvious that it made her seem simple and sincere, like a student.

Only students can be so pure-hearted, where liking someone simply means liking them.

Zhou Yun saw her past self in Yu Sitian and felt a bit nostalgic, which made her more forgiving.

The slight grievances and dissatisfaction in Zhou Yun’s heart dissipated like smoke.

Song Chi took a seat, with three people between him and Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun knew she should avoid any misconceptions, so to prevent those ”loving gazes” photos from appearing on the internet, she didn’t even glance at Song Chi.

Not until the ribbon-cutting, when the brand’s representative insisted on pulling Zhou Yun to the center next to Song Chi. She knew what they were thinking and unconsciously glanced at Song Chi.

Song Chi looked indifferent, as if everything happening around him was none of his business.

Unable to decline, Zhou Yun was placed in the middle next to Song Chi.

The camera flashes burst forth like a flurry of shuffling cards.

Zhou Yun maintained a smile, subtly keeping a half-body distance from Song Chi.

When this event ended, it was time for everyone to leave.

Zhou Yun changed her clothes and left the dressing room with Zhou Lan, ready for the next appointment. However, passing by Song Chi’s dressing room with its door slightly ajar, she saw Yu Sitian inside, speaking to Song Chi with admiration and reservation.

Song Chi had a smile on his face, warm and gentle.

Zhou Yun glanced inside but Luo Yuhu noticed and glared fiercely at the scene.

Luo Yuhu stepped forward and closed the door.

”Disgusting.”

Zhou Yun heard Luo Yuhu muttering these words under his breath.

She simply smiled nonchalantly, appearing indifferent, but whether she truly was indifferent, only she knew.

After getting into the car, Zhou Lan suddenly turned around.

”It’s trending.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”With Song Chi again?”

”Yes.” Zhou Lan nodded, ”It rocketed to the trending list, probably bought by the brand’s side.”

Zhou Yun opened her phone and saw the topic: Song Chi and Zhou Yun’s first public appearance after their romance rumor.

Not fake news but certainly fueling wild speculation.

Clicking in, the first thing she saw was a Weibo post by the brand.

There were more than a dozen photos from the event. Out of these, three were solo photos of Song Chi, making a total of four with a group photo included.

Zhou Yun looked through each photo,

First was Song Chi, then her. There were two solo photos of her, one captured her lifting her wrist showing off a bracelet, and the other one where she was looking sideways at the camera, her earrings tracing a beautiful arc.

Beyond that, everyone else had just one solo photo.

In terms of seniority and status, Zhou Yun shouldn’t have received such treatment.

Zhou Yun thought this exception might have been due to the popularity linked with Song Chi, and perhaps the brand’s gratitude for her cooperative adjustment of the appearance order.

”What are you looking at?” Zhou Lan asked, ”You aren’t reading the comments, are you?”

”Comments? What comments?” Zhou Yun hadn’t snapped back to reality yet.
