Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 4: Chapter 4 The Beginning of the Scandal: 04

Awkward.

Zhou Yun had always considered herself to have a thick skin, able to keep her composure in any situation, but at this moment, she still felt awkward—human nature, after all.

”Brother Song.” Zhou Yun greeted.

Song Chi didn’t say anything, but a chubby guy standing next to him let out a sarcastic snigger and said, ”Well, isn’t this Brother Song’s rumored girlfriend? Still clinging around here, huh?”

Song Chi, wearing sunglasses, Zhou Yun could only see his eyebrows knitted slightly before he called out softly, ”Yuhu.”

Luo Yuhu, Song Chi’s assistant.

His sarcastic taunts didn’t infuriate Zhou Yun, but rather Zhou Lan curled her lips into a sneer, crossed her arms in front of her chest, and stepped forward, just in time to step on where the elevator’s open/close button was, causing the closing elevator doors to slide open again.

”Is this hotel owned by your family? Why are you still lingering around here?”

Luo Yuhu and Zhou Lan glared at each other, sharp as needles.

Zhou Yun sighed inwardly, unwilling to start a conflict at this time, especially since the other party was Song Chi.

”Brother Song, I’m not clear about the photos and rumors, but my company will issue a clarification statement shortly.”

Song Chi nodded slightly in acknowledgement.

Zhou Yun tugged at Zhou Lan and said, ”Sister Lan, let’s wait for the next one. There are probably reporters all over the hotel lobby, it wouldn’t be good for us to leave the elevator with Brother Song.”

Only then did Zhou Lan reluctantly retract her foot.

Luo Yuhu snorted coldly, muttering quietly, ”What a pretense.”

Hearing this, Zhou Lan’s eyebrows slashed sideways with fury, she heh’d, ready to explode, but by then the elevator doors had closed.

”That bastard!” Zhou Lan cursed.

Zhou Yun spoke indifferently, ”Sister Lan, let it go, there’s no need to bother with an idiot.”

Zhou Lan was still fuming, ”If I get the chance, I’ll definitely tear that idiot’s mouth apart, it stinks like it’s been soaked in a cesspit.”

After saying this, Zhou Lan suddenly seemed to remember something, turned to look at Zhou Yun with a surprised face, and asked, ”Why are you keeping your temper so well today? Usually, aren’t you quicker to curse than me?”

Zhou Yun was serious.

”Song Chi is handsome, I want to maintain my image in front of a good-looking young guy.”

Zhou Lan immediately rolled her eyes hugely.

...

In fact, Zhou Yun wasn’t crazy about looks. Of course, everyone likes a pretty face, but by saying she wasn’t obsessed with looks, she meant she wouldn’t lose her senses just because someone was attractive. She just didn’t want to spend the effort explaining to Zhou Lan why she had restrained her temper just then.

Zhou Lan, a very competent agent, was different from most agents in that she wasn’t that smooth-tempered and was quite straightforward. Because of this character trait, she had made some friends and offended some people.

Since Zhou Lan had already cursed back for her, it would be merely duplicated effort for her to do so again, and it would also leave Zhou Lan without an exit strategy.

Better for her to stay calm, pull Zhou Lan aside, and then smoothly settle things after Zhou Lan had retaliated.

On the other hand, no matter how you looked at this situation, the one who stood to gain was her; even if she cleared things up, it was undeniable that her name became known to more people.

Zhou Yun didn’t want to take advantage of someone’s misfortune, nor did she want to be pedantic over such trivial matters.

Song Chi himself was a top influencer and knew well that scandals weren’t always concocted by the protagonists.

Some things, if stated clearly, that’s enough.

If it’s not true, then it’s not.

Zhou Yun took out sunglasses and earphones for herself to wear.

This was her shield against the media’s barrage of firepower.
