Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 11: Chapter 11 The Beginning of the Scandal: 11

It’s still the same hotel as yesterday.

The car stopped directly at the hotel entrance, where someone came forward to open the door.

To Zhou Yun’s surprise, as she got out of the car, several media reporters who had been lying in wait swarmed toward her.

Armed with cameras and microphones, they appeared without giving Zhou Yun any time to react, cornering her, leaving her no escape.

”Miss Zhou Yun, is it true that you responded today that your relationship with Mr. Song Chi is not romantic?”

The question asked was so... Zhou Yun glanced at the young man who had asked this idiotic question, his cheeks dotted with freckles, obviously new to the field, still staking out at this ungodly hour.

However, his eyes were shining and his oily face was flushed with excitement – he clearly thought his stakeout had paid off, landing a major scoop.

Zhou Yun didn’t answer immediately, instead, she looked around for Zhou Lan.

Zhou Lan pushed through the crowd of reporters and stood in front of Zhou Yun, preventing the reporters from getting too close.

”Ladies and gentlemen of the press, our artist has just finished work and returned. Please be patient and orderly, shall we?” Zhou Lan’s authoritative tone set the record straight – they were indicating that Zhou Yun wouldn’t just return to the hotel; she would answer their questions. With this attitude, the reporters no longer formed such an impenetrable ring.

Zhou Lan whispered into Zhou Yun’s ear: ”Just give a simple answer, it’s a good opportunity to give a direct response.”

Zhou Yun smiled wearily and said, ”If I had known there would be cameras waiting here for me, I wouldn’t have removed my makeup in advance. I must look quite unattractive right now, don’t I?”

Her first remark took everyone by surprise, leaving them at a loss.

This girl, is she really not taking this seriously? Concerned about her own beauty?

”You’re quite pretty, you look good even without makeup,” said the same young man with freckles on his cheeks.

”That’s good.” Zhou Yun nodded, ”You’ve also had it tough, keeping vigil here so late at night waiting for my return. I’m feeling sleepy; aren’t you tired?”

Her eyes were fluttering, though showing fatigue, they still sparkled brightly, a brilliance that only young girls possess.

Bewilderment was written all over the reporters’ faces.

”Miss Zhou Yun, you haven’t answered my question yet?” said the freckled young man, persisting, ”The rumor about you and Mr. Song Chi, is it true or false?”

Zhou Yun sighed in resignation.

”Of course, it’s false. My company has already issued a statement. Mr. Song Chi and I don’t know each other. We met for the first time yesterday and just greeted each other in the elevator, then someone took a photo and suspected we were dating.”

”So, are you single right now?” someone swiftly seized the chance to ask.

Zhou Yun shook her head and said, ”I’m busy with my career.”

Finishing her statement, she yawned again and shook her head, ”I really can’t anymore, I’m just too tired. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s getting late, you should also head back and rest soon, bye-bye, good night.”

She turned her head to look at Zhou Lan.

Sister Lan hugged Zhou Yun’s shoulder with a Smiling Face, ”We’ve answered the questions of concern, Xiao Yun has been recording all day and is really tired. We will arrange an exclusive interview for everyone next time. For now, we’re going to rest, and you should rest early too.”

Thanks to Zhou Yun’s excessive cooperation, the usually voracious entertainment reporters unexpectedly let her off easily this time.

Zhou Yun waved her hand, ”Good night.”

Entering the hotel brought silence to her ears.

”Sister Lan, what floor are you staying on?”

Zhou Lan said, ”The 7th floor.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Then we’re not on the same floor, come and call me tomorrow.”

”I’ll escort you upstairs,” Zhou Lan insisted, worried about Zhou Yun being alone in case of any encounter.

Not to mention anything else, Zhou Yun was a great beauty, and in the dead of night, she might run into some men with ill intentions wanting to take advantage...

But Zhou Yun refused.

”No need, I’ll go up by myself,” Zhou Yun said, ”Don’t worry about me, it’s so late, you should also get some sleep.”

Right then, the elevator doors opened.

A woman, dressed in exceedingly luxurious clothes, wearing dark glasses and a wide-brimmed hat, walked out.

Zhou Yun and Zhou Lan stepped aside to let her pass, but they noticed that the woman’s gaze lingered on Zhou Yun’s face for a second.

Just as Zhou Yun wondered if the person might be someone she knew, the woman withdrew her gaze, walking gracefully towards the hotel entrance.

Zhou Yun’s gaze followed her, hearing Zhou Lan whisper in her ear, ”This person seems quite wealthy, the getup from head to toe is worth seven figures.”

Zhou Yun’s eyelid twitched slightly.

Millions?

”She looks to have good taste too, probably the wife of some rich family,” Zhou Lan commented, ”Just the bag on her hand, I’ve heard Su Yan was asking someone to help her buy it last month, and she hasn’t been able to get her hands on it yet.”

Zhou Yun harbored suspicions, a rich person’s wife, dressed like this leaving the hotel at this time?

Dark glasses and a wide-brimmed hat, clearly not wanting to be recognized.

Which wealthy wife would slink around so secretively?

However, Zhou Yun didn’t speak up. She was of the mindset that if it didn’t concern her, she should just stay out of it. What Zhou Yun wanted now was just to sleep.

”Oh, right,” Zhou Yun suddenly remembered something, ”Is Song Chi still staying here today?”

Zhou Lan shook her head, ”I don’t know, why do you ask?”

”With such a big scandal spread about us, shouldn’t he avoid provoking further speculation?” Zhou Yun commented, ”I thought you would change the hotel for me.”

Zhou Lan chuckled, ”I originally wanted to switch hotels, but when I communicated with the hotel, they said they would waive our fee because their lack of security led to the paparazzi sneaking photos that affected you, so I didn’t change it.”

Zhou Yun was not a hotshot, and Zhou Lan wasn’t a top-tier agent. The two of them didn’t have access to many resources from their company, and they had a tight budget. Zhou Lan always tried to save where she could, cutting corners and leading a frugal life, planning for the long haul.

”Fine,” Zhou Yun yawned again, ”It’s up to you, I really need to sleep now.”
