Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2537: Chapter 2538: You’re Only Seven Years Old

Bai Ruozhu’s face immediately turned red, and she lowered her head and said, ”I miss you too.”

Jiang Yichun’s small anger disappeared at once, ”Have you recovered?”

Bai Ruozhu nodded, ”Much better, a soak in the hot spring will relieve the fatigue.”

”Alright, we’ll go together.” There was a cunning look in his eyes.

By the time Bai Ruozhu and him came out from Space, it was already two hours later. Her face was flushed, and there was an irrepressible affection in her brows and eyes.

Because there were still a heap of things to deal with, the two could only change clothes and head to the Assembly Hall.

”Yo, this is like a reunion that’s better than a honeymoon.” Tang Feng teased.

Bai Ruozhu’s cheeks turned red, ”I think you should find a wife.”

Tang Feng raised an eyebrow, ”I find being alone more free.”

Bai Ruozhu felt tense, Tang Feng still hadn’t gotten over that hurdle.

Jiang Yichun understood her thoughts and quickly changed the topic, ”There haven’t been any major events in the Capital these days, but someone came looking for you twice. I declined them saying you’ve caught a cold and are not in a position to meet guests.”

”Who was looking for me?” Bai Ruozhu knew it couldn’t be anything urgent, otherwise he would have mentioned it yesterday.

”It was a Fusang aristocratic lady, named Fangzi, who seemed somewhat anxious. Additionally, someone named Yaxi sent you an invitation to visit her home for tea.” Jiang Yichun said.

Bai Ruozhu remembered those two Fusang girls, similar to how she once befriended Leng Wanhua and Bai Qizhi. She nodded and said, ”I’ll find time to visit.”

At this time, Mo Beishan strode back from outside, saying, ”The Crown Prince has returned to the Capital. His horse carriage swaggered into the City, with many people on both sides cheering for him.”

Bai Ruozhu chuckled, ”This is deliberately shown to us, to provoke those of us who didn’t capture him.”

”Don’t worry, there will be time to deal with him.” Jiang Yichun said, his face sinking.

Afterwards, Bai Ruozhu instructed Mo Beishan to continue monitoring the Crown Prince’s movements, while she set off to the Palace. She had been using illness as a reason to avoid going to the Palace for the second prince’s follow-up, postponing any further might raise suspicion.

Soon, she was in the Palace meeting with the Emperor, who kindly inquired a few things and asked if she had been too exhausted when treating the second prince recently.

Bai Ruozhu smiled and exchanged pleasantries but didn’t explain further, otherwise, how could her ”illness” arise without reason?

Afterwards, she examined the second prince again. The second prince’s condition improved progressively; he diligently performed rehabilitation and could now be supported to slowly walk.

”Is your health better now, Bai Ruozhu? I should have visited you, but my mobility is limited.” The second prince smiled sincerely at Bai Ruozhu.

If it weren’t for She Zongyi, or if the second prince hadn’t accepted She Zongyi as a mentor, Bai Ruozhu might have considered him a friend or even agreed to take him as a disciple. However, facing such a sincere smile now, she couldn’t feel any closeness.

”I’ve recovered, but colds are contagious, so I couldn’t go out.” Bai Ruozhu said.

The second prince sensed Bai Ruozhu’s indifferent attitude, and his smile diminished somewhat.

”Good, it’s great to hear that. Don’t overwork yourself.” The second prince was a bit nervous; although the woman before him was relatively young like him, even though she didn’t want to be his mentor, he always felt nervous facing her, reminiscent of being scolded by a teacher as a child.

”Recover well, I will take my leave if there’s nothing else.” Bai Ruozhu said, standing up.

”Alright, take care.” The second prince was a little disappointed but still insisted on standing to return the gesture.

As Bai Ruozhu left the second prince’s Palace, she hadn’t gone far when she encountered the approaching Crown Prince.

”Isn’t this Bai Ruozhu? Just been to diagnose my second brother?” The Crown Prince approached, smiling brightly, obviously showing off in front of Bai Ruozhu.

”Where is Your Highness heading? Not visiting the second prince, are you?” Bai Ruozhu did not answer him but instead asked him.

”I have been outside lately. Hearing that my second brother has improved, I wanted to visit him as soon as I returned.” The Crown Prince said smilingly. If Bai Ruozhu didn’t know the facts, she might think he was deeply brotherly with the second prince.

”Is it so?” Bai Ruozhu raised her eyebrows, ”The Crown Prince might be quite disappointed, but there aren’t just one kind of poison in this world, and not just one person capable of using poison. The Crown Prince should be careful.”

The Crown Prince’s servant turned sullen, ”What does Bai Ruozhu mean?”

Bai Ruozhu laughed, ”Is Zhongyuan Language undetermined for you? Can’t understand the meaning in my words?”

”You...” The servant was about to speak but was stopped by the Crown Prince.

”Do not be disrespectful.” The Crown Prince chided, his eyes flaring with anger yet suppressed forcibly, ”Thank you Bai Ruozhu for the reminder, I will certainly keep those words in mind.”

”The Crown Prince surely is wise.” Bai Ruozhu said with a smile, turning away without departing.

The servant watched Bai Ruozhu’s figure in the distance, agitated and said, ”Your Highness, that Zhongyuan woman is too disrespectful, this is Fusang Country, what’s her arrogance?”

”No need to say more. She is arrogant for a reason, but the more arrogant one is, the faster they meet their end.” The Crown Prince’s face bore a gentle smile, yet his words sent a chill to the listener.

Bai Ruozhu hadn’t gone far, naturally heard the conversation between the master and servant clearly, and she showed a cold smile, well, let’s see who dies first.

Then she visited Zhaoti Temple, where she gave Master Puru a follow-up examination.

Master Puru’s physical condition had been well-managed overall, but he needed to apply medicine to the burnt skin for gradual recovery. Bai Ruozhu left another bottle of medicine for him.

Upon leaving Master Puru’s Room, she saw Luan Xin sweeping in the courtyard, his frail frame visibly thin, yet he was especially diligent in his work.

Recalling Master Pudeng’s kind and dignified appearance, Bai Ruozhu realized that her choice of words ”frail frame” was quite inappropriate; she shouldn’t let Luan Xin know.

Luan Xin spotted Bai Ruozhu, ”Bai Ruozhu, I heard you were sick?”

Doubt lingered in his eyes; he knew Bai Ruozhu’s Medical Skills and deep inner strength weren’t ordinary.

Bai Ruozhu smiled at him, ”Doctors are people too, they can also fall ill, but I’m better now.”

Luan Xin didn’t believe her, but this wasn’t a convenient place for inquiry, so he didn’t pursue further.

Bai Ruozhu walked over and crouched beside him, asking, ”Are you tired doing this?”

”Not tired, it’s good exercise.” Luan Xin replied.

Bai Ruozhu nodded, ”This time, work hard on practicing martial arts, but wait until your body is well-adjusted.”

”I think the same way.” Luan Xin nodded, his demeanor calm, not resembling a child.

Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but find it amusing, whispering, ”You’re only seven, it’s not right to always show an old man’s demeanor, you need to change that.”

Luan Xin choked, after a while only grunting a quiet ”mm.”

He needed to change, considering he had to adopt some behaviors of children, which was challenging, like following Luan Jing who often wiped his nose with his sleeve?
