Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2397: Chapter 2398: Taking the Enemy as Father

The sea monster, enraged by the people on the deck, turned to attack them, and Bai Ruozhu seized the opportunity to emerge from Space, planting a firebomb in the ship cabin.

”Send a few men to capture that woman. How could she possibly carry firebombs with her?” The Black Boss shouted furiously, having completely lost the gentlemanly image he displayed last time, resembling a hysterical lunatic.

A few pirates rushed into the ship cabin but found no trace of Bai Ruozhu at the site of the explosion; Bai Ruozhu had already escaped after throwing two firebombs.

Of course, she still had more firebombs in Space, but using too many would expose her Space, so she could only proceed to the lower level of the ship, trying to find a way to sabotage the seemingly indestructible vessel.

She was running downwards when suddenly she heard the sound of weeping, seemingly a child’s.

Bai Ruozhu slowed her pace, her heart sinking. She originally thought the Black Pirate Ship only had those pirates aboard, not ordinary people; could it be that laborers were held below?

As she approached, the crying grew louder.

A group of filthy-clothed individuals huddled together, awaiting disaster that could descend at any moment. They quickly noticed the suddenly appeared woman; aside from captured women, there were no female pirates on this ship, nor any woman dressed so neatly.

Everyone stared at Bai Ruozhu in amazement, causing Bai Ruozhu to feel somewhat heartbroken; she nearly injured these poor ordinary people with the explosions.

”Who are all of you? Captured by the pirates?” Bai Ruozhu asked.

A brave middle-aged man replied, ”I’m a fisherman from Gulu Island, captured while fishing at sea by the Black Pirates and held here to work for them, probably for nearly half a year now.”

With one person speaking, the others were willing to talk, and most people here were residents of sea islands, some were from the Danliang Merchant Ship that was hijacked.

At this moment, Bai Ruozhu noticed a woman whose face was very dirty, seemingly unwashed for a long time, but she lowered her head in fear; Bai Ruozhu’s sharp eyes noticed the skin connecting her neck and back, which was snow-white and exceptionally smooth and tender.

Bai Ruozhu looked at her face again; this woman was unusual, her face deliberately painted.

She kept her head down and did not speak or offer her own situation.

Someone noticed Bai Ruozhu’s gaze and helped to say, ”She’s a mute, helping in the kitchen.”

Bai Ruozhu nodded, setting aside her doubts.

”Madam, since you could come in, could you help us escape?” A woman pleaded tearfully, tightly holding a boy beside her, ”If we can’t leave, my son will grow up to become a pirate, how could I face his dead father?”

Bai Ruozhu also wanted to help these pitiful people, but outside was chaos, how could she get them out?

If on land, she could try to lead them away, but this was the vast ocean; taking them off the Pirate Ship only meant entering the sea, possibly without direction, they could all drown.

”I can’t save you, outside is the ocean, my ship has already sailed far away, I can barely escape myself, let alone bring you all. Staying here, though bitter, at least keeps you alive; coming with me could quickly mean dying at sea.” Bai Ruozhu shook her head and said.

”But you don’t understand, madam, they kill when displeased, they drink and drag us to be targets, people die every few days, we don’t know how much longer we can live.” The woman cried painfully.

Others also began to weep, sadness and despair spreading among them.

Bai Ruozhu gritted her teeth; these Black Pirates were too cruel, yet she still couldn’t save them unless her ship could break through the Black Pirate Ship, to truly let them leave.

But that situation was too difficult; she could teach the Black Pirates a lesson, but genuinely breaking the advanced Pirate Ship was almost impossible.

”If there’s a chance to defeat the Black Pirates, you’ll be free.” Bai Ruozhu sighed helplessly, ready to leave; if she stayed, the pirates would eventually come.

”Sister!” The boy held by the woman suddenly stood up, ”I don’t ask you to save me, just if you meet people from Qiuye Island, help me send a message.”

Bai Ruozhu turned and looked at him, ”Okay, if I encounter them, I’ll help you say it.”

The boy blushed slightly, walked over to Bai Ruozhu, and whispered, ”Tell Xi Niu not to wait for me anymore; we have a child betrothal, but if I can’t return, doesn’t it hinder her?”

Bai Ruozhu felt even more heartbroken, ”Alright, I’ll say it.”

She wanted to take this boy away, but he wasn’t the youngest or the most in need of help; even if she could save one, it should be the smallest child.

Yet outside were Black Pirates and a vengeful sea monster; whoever she took away might be harmed.

She could only grit her teeth and leave, with a heart full of reluctance.

Suddenly, a woman’s scream arose from behind, and Bai Ruozhu sensed killing intent; she quickly moved forward, a white shadow rushed out from her body, followed by the sound of something falling.

Bai Ruozhu turned her head to see the boy who spoke to her earlier clutching a dagger, face distorted with fury, poised to stab her.

Furball jumped back to Bai Ruozhu, saying it hadn’t been harsh, considering itself polite.

”Abao, what are you doing? Are you crazy?” The boy’s mother screamed, rushing from the crowd to grab the boy, but quickly realizing he lay helpless on the ground.

Others were also stunned, quickly condemning the boy for attacking Bai Ruozhu, but soon someone noted an inconsistency.

”Abao, how could you have a dagger?”

The boy fiercely glared at Bai Ruozhu; he spoke with difficulty, due to Furball’s poison, ”If she plans to attack the Black Pirate Ship, she deserves to die!”

”Are you stupid? That’s our only path to rescue!” The woman shouted in anger.

Abao sneered, ”Why leave here? Return to fishing? Or face the aristocrats on the island? The Boss agreed I could become a pirate; I’ll eat and drink well with them. If I kill her, the Boss will surely promote me!”

Bai Ruozhu snorted, ”That’s called turning traitor, is it? But can you kill me? I must admit, your acting skills are excellent.”

The boy had no martial arts skills, and if he hadn’t used talking as an opportunity to approach Bai Ruozhu, he wouldn’t have had a chance to strike.

The boy, refusing to repent, glared at Bai Ruozhu, ”If you dare, kill me; the Black Boss won’t spare you, you’ll be torn to pieces!”
