Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2365: Chapter 2364: The Holy Spring Has a Spirit

Bai Ruozhu looked in the direction of the voice and saw an old woman dressed in bird feathers standing not far away, glaring at her angrily, looking utterly ridiculous.

But now was a critical moment for saving a life, and Bai Ruozhu wasn’t in the mood for jokes, otherwise, she would have already laughed out loud.

In this hot weather, wearing a bunch of bird feathers—isn’t she hot? Does she really think she’s a ”wild chicken”?

The old woman’s face was ferocious. She pinched her fingers into a sword finger shape and pointed at Bai Ruozhu, exclaiming, ”How dare you act recklessly when a life is at stake? Do you even know where you’re from, witch doctor?”

She wasn’t actually speaking but instead performing like an opera singer, making Bai Ruozhu’s skin crawl.

She suddenly felt quite fortunate that Danliang Country was fairly culturally advanced; the Mountain Village she had just transmigrated to wasn’t that backward either. Otherwise, dealing with witch doctors performing their rituals at every turn would have been unbearable.

”I am a female Chief Doctor of fourth rank in Danliang Country, I hold an official position, and it’s not beyond me to save a person.” Bai Ruozhu, eager to save a life, was somewhat too impatient to pay attention to this witch doctor acting all mysterious.

”How bold!” The old woman cried out, quickly rushing forward and blocking Bai Ruozhu, clearly intent on not allowing her to touch the injured person.

”This is Luili Island, your arrival has already attracted the wrath of Lady Nuwa, who has withdrawn the Holy Spring, and now someone is bleeding for no reason. You cannot stay, quickly get out!” The witch doctor cried out theatrically.

Bai Ruozhu stared coldly at her, ”Who do you think you are? You’ve already called me reckless twice. Have you ever saved a similar patient? Wa Ling’s bones were fractured, and you couldn’t save him either, could you? If you can’t save him, then get out of the way and don’t obstruct me!”

”How arrogant!” The witch doctor was full of airs, ”Whether they survive is up to Lady Nuwa to decide. Wa Ling allowed you outsiders onto the island, and that’s why Lady Nuwa punished him!”

Bai Ruozhu was really impatient, ”Get out of the way! I hate it when people can’t save others and then hide behind divine decrees. You’re no doctor at all.”

Jiang Yichun knew Bai Ruozhu was out of patience. He approached and suddenly drew his sword, not unsheathing it, but used the sword tip to lift the witch doctor’s collar and tossed her aside.

The witch doctor fell heavily to the ground, the feather crown on her head fell off, and many of the long bird feathers on her body broke, scattered and fluttered in the air.

”You will definitely be punished by Lady Nuwa!” The witch doctor shouted angrily. Jiang Yichun tapped her mute point with the sword hilt.

”Too noisy.” Jiang Yichun said coldly, not realizing he had amazed the surrounding islanders, who looked at him with admiration.

Bai Ruozhu continued to save the person, but someone soon spoke up, ”Isn’t treating our witch doctor like that a bit too much? She is Lady Nuwa’s envoy.”

Jiang Yichun looked over coldly, ”If she can’t save him, then shut up and don’t interrupt my wife treating the patient!”

Wa Wei was watching Bai Ruozhu’s movements intently, filled with admiration and fear. If it were her, she would be too scared by all the blood to think straight, let alone know what to do.

Liu Si’s rear head was badly fractured, leaving a large gash after impacting a rock. Bai Ruozhu stopped the bleeding and disinfected the wound, then took out a needle and thread to stitch it up, startling those around her.

”Liu Si has always opposed Danliang people coming to the island, and he wasn’t very polite to Lord Bai before. Isn’t Lord Bai plotting revenge by poking needles into his flesh?”

The speaker couldn’t help but take a deep breath, feeling pained just watching.

Bai Ruozhu helplessly pursed her lips, thinking that when doctors are treating and saving lives, unnecessary people should leave.

”His wound is too long, prone to continuous bleeding, so using this suturing technique can help it heal faster.” Bai Ruozhu explained to Wa Wei beside her, ”This is a catgut suture; it will dissolve on its own as the wound heals, without the need to remove it, sparing the patient additional pain, though the suturing process is a bit more difficult.”

”Why hasn’t Liu Si woken up yet; has he died?” Someone murmured.

Bai Ruozhu finished the last stitch and turned to the extremely nervous village head beside her, saying, ”He injured his head, it’s normal to be unconscious for a while. I’ll prepare medicine, and when he wakes up, warm it up for him to drink to stop bleeding and dissolve bruises.”

”Can Liu Si survive?” Wa Shu asked cautiously.

Bai Ruozhu looked at him in surprise, ”Why wouldn’t he survive?”

”Most with serious injuries on the island can’t survive, especially those with head injuries,” Wa Shu said.

Bai Ruozhu sighed inwardly at the drawbacks of low medical levels; external injuries can’t be properly stopped from bleeding, and soaking in hot springs doesn’t help.

”First, carry him back to rest, be careful not to touch his wound, and also, his head shouldn’t get wet, don’t randomly use things to wipe it.” Bai Ruozhu instructed.

”Okay, okay.” Wa Shu hurriedly agreed, firmly believing Bai Ruozhu’s words, evidently aware that the island’s medical standards couldn’t compare to Danliang’s.

”But...” Wa Shu hesitated, looking with difficulty towards the witch doctor who had fallen to the ground, ”Can you release the witch doctor first?”

Bai Ruozhu looked at Jiang Yichun, ”Release her, I’m tired too, going back to rest.”

Jiang Yichun flicked a coin out, hitting the witch doctor, who could now move and speak.

”You will definitely face divine retribution; Lady Nuwa won’t spare you!” The witch doctor yelled angrily, looking all the more like a madwoman screeching in her chaotic state.

Bai Ruozhu glanced at her indifferently, then pulled Jiang Yichun to leave and rest; utterly exhausted after a day’s work and too hoarse to deal with such insanity.

Back in the room, Jiang Yichun tenderly held her hand saying, ”Let’s leave tomorrow, don’t wear yourself out.”

Bai Ruozhu quickly shook her head, ”No, we must see things through, this all started because of me.”

With that in mind, she pulled Jiang Yichun, and they both entered the Space together.

This time, something had changed in the Space: the hot spring pool had expanded, almost as big as the fish pond, with the two pools occupying opposite sides, one with emerald green water, the other with milky white, looking exceptionally pleasing.

Suddenly, Bai Ruozhu noticed a bubbling spring eye in the hot spring pool. She hurried over, jumping directly into the pool and swimming towards it.

The spring eye felt like a playful child, making Bai Ruozhu recall the feeling when the Holy Spring drilled into her Space, as if a mischievous child found a fun place and insisted on coming in.

She reached out for the spring eye, and a voice suddenly transmitted into her divine sense.

”Don’t chase me away, it’s so nice here, I want to stay.” A cute little girl’s voice sounded, instantly melting Bai Ruozhu’s heart.

If she had a daughter, she would speak in this adorable way, right?
