Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2385: Chapter 2384: Black Pirates

The kitchen maid snorted coldly, ”As for how well I do my job, it’s not for Miss to say; rather, what have you done as a disciple? Colluding with the Merfolk, making things difficult for Master Bai?”

”What do you mean? How did Duannian and I offend you?” Wei Wei angrily asked.

Someone nearby came over and pulled the kitchen maid, advising, ”Stop talking, if you anger her, the next one the Merfolk eat will be you.”

The kitchen maid stuck out her neck and said, ”Anyway, I’ll end up being killed by them sooner or later. Might as well speak freely, instead of dying without a voice.”

Wei Wei’s lips trembled with anger, ”This is pure nonsense. Duannian has always stayed in the room, never going out. How could he harm you? You can’t slander people because of prejudice.”

”Prejudice? Wang Lu has been missing for days, and even his body couldn’t be found. If he wasn’t eaten by the Merfolk, then what?” someone else chimed in.

Wei Wei wanted to argue, but a male chef showed a mocking expression and said, ”Looking for trouble, aren’t you worried about having nightmares at night? What a disgrace!”

Wei Wei’s face was flushed red with anger, gritted her teeth and ran out.

She went to the deck and cried for a long time, but didn’t tell Bai Ruozhu about this matter nor let Duannian know. Duannian, seeing her eyes swollen, even worried that she’d contracted conjunctivitis and advised her for a long time, fortunately letting her muddle through.

The next day, Wei Wei found fish bones in her meal, quite a lot of them too. If she hadn’t been used to chewing carefully, she would’ve gotten a bone stuck in her throat.

The sea fish bones were large and easy to notice, Wei Wei had to pick them out one by one before finishing the meal.

On the third day, when Wei Wei went to collect her dried clothes, she found them cut with holes right at the chest, as if intentionally to humiliate her!

Finally unable to hold back, she squatted on the ground and cried out loud. Why were these seemingly simple people treating her like this? Was it them who went mad or had she done something wrong?

Thinking that her clan might also fear and reject Duannian like this, her heart wrenched with pain.

No, she couldn’t endure this any longer.

She originally didn’t want to trouble Bai Ruozhu, but she didn’t know what might happen if things continued.

She walked to Bai Ruozhu’s room, where Bai Ruozhu was discussing with Jianqi and Qiu Zhi about tracing Wang Lu’s whereabouts. Wei Wei thought about it and decided to tell her later.

Unexpectedly, in the evening, as night fell, a ship suddenly appeared in the ocean, sailing towards their direction.

Upon hearing his disciple’s description, Ding Lao hurriedly went to the deck to check. One look and his face turned pale as paper.

”Quickly, change direction, it’s the Black Pirates, the Black Pirates!” Ding Lao shouted in terror.

The boat was in an uproar, everyone panicked, filled with fear at the words ”Black Pirates”.

Bai Ruozhu and the others quickly gathered on the deck, Ding Lao panted heavily and explained to them, ”The Black Pirates are infamous in this area; they pillage and murder without restraint, not just for wealth but leave no survivors on looted ships.

If you see a ship at sea where everyone’s dead, don’t think it’s a supernatural event.

More likely, the Black Pirates have killed everyone and left only the dead bodies on the ship.”

Someone from the Zhinan Group exclaimed, ”They’re after us? Isn’t it said that the Black Pirates never loot official ships?”

Bai Ruozhu listened with curiosity, she did not know how ancient pirates were, could they really break through their small team?

The ship drew nearer, it had black sails, and the hull was all dark and eerie.

On the deck were a group of vicious men, among them a very wise-looking middle-aged man, around forty years old.

His scholarly attire seemed out of place amongst the pirates, but Bai Ruozhu immediately recognized him as the leader of the pirates.

And next to that man stood someone, the very person they had been searching for, Wang Lu.

As the ship got closer, others on the deck also recognized Wang Lu, and someone couldn’t help but curse, ”Wang Lu, you traitor, we’ve been worried sick about you, afraid you’d end up dead. But look at you, running off to join pirates instead!”

Wang Lu didn’t get angry, still wearing the same sulky expression, casually snorting, showing his disdain to bother with the other sailors.

Bai Ruozhu thought deeply and began to understand that Wang Lu had secretly defected to the pirates, helping them navigate and bring them here.

”Wang Lu, as a sailor of the official ship, how could you willingly degenerate and join pirates, are you mad?” Li Jin angrily pointed at him and shouted.

This ship already had one Zheng Xin, how could there be another Wang Lu?

Wang Lu sulked silently, then slowly said, ”Don’t worry about my business, I just want to help Boss Zheng achieve his ambitions.”

Bai Ruozhu dared not delay, quickly instructed Yuan Licheng to set up a formation. They needed defenses against pillaging and plundering.

But before Yuan Licheng could finish setting up, the opponents threw over several chains, followed by several swordsmen rushing over, their speed catching Bai Ruozhu off guard.

Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun hurried to confront them, while Mo Beishan and others joined the battlefield.

The Black Pirates were well-trained, the attackers setting up a sword array—despite casualties, they still safely reached Bai Ruozhu and the others.

”Kill, grab anything you want, you can have the women on the ship whenever you want!” The scholarly man laughed heartily, seeming more like a pirate.

Enraged, Bai Ruozhu spun her sword, quickly leaping onto the pirate ship, thrusting straight for the pirate leader’s throat.

”Boss, watch out!” Wang Lu suddenly intervened, Bai Ruozhu didn’t have time to retract her move, or perhaps she never intended to, the sword pierced through Wang Lu’s side.

”Courting death!” The pirate leader flared up, drawing a soft sword from his waist and fiercely slashed back at Bai Ruozhu.

Bai Ruozhu seized the opportunity to roll aside, not only evading his attack but also fiercely pulling out the dagger that had injured Wang Lu.

”I underestimated you.” The pirate leader sneered, quickly applying pressure to Wang Lu’s side to stop the bleeding.

Others seized the chance to surround him, actually forming a sword array to protect him.

Seeing the unusual sword array, Bai Ruozhu didn’t dare to be careless, feigned attacks and took a quick turn to rush back onto the ship.

”How could it be the Shu Mountain Sword Array?” Qiu Zhi exclaimed in disbelief, ”Who are you really?”

The pirate leader stared at him, disdainfully saying, ”So there’s a little Daoist, why can’t pirates use the Shu Mountain Sword Array?”

Bai Ruozhu was taken aback, how did Shu Mountain come into this, are there Shushan Sect members here?
