Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2367: Chapter 2366: The Wound Torn Open

Bai Ruozhu’s face also turned cold. She said to Yuan Licheng, ”Quickly take Lan Ying back to rest, I’ll handle things here.”

She knew Fo Lanying didn’t want her to take the blame for this, so he forced himself to come out and explain. She was even more aware of how severe Fo Lanying’s illness could get when it flared up; otherwise, with Fo Lanying’s character, he would definitely have forced himself to endure it. Although she couldn’t feel Fo Lanying’s pain, she could imagine how intense it was. The pain came from his divine sense, so even if it hurt unbearably, he couldn’t just pass out.

Bai Ruozhu turned to look at the witch doctor, cold light already shot from her eyes. She was originally just a passerby and didn’t want to meddle, but now this witch had already challenged all her patience.

She subtly moved her fingertips hidden in her sleeve. The witch, seeing her staring, puffed out her chest like a cock ready for a fight and glared back.

”What are you looking at? Did I say something wrong? What, you still want to get physical? Lady Nuwa will surely punish...” The witch loudly proclaimed, but suddenly her voice cut off; her mouth could move, but no sound came out.

She pointed at her throat in horror, making sounds but unable to utter a word.

She desperately clutched her throat, yet still couldn’t speak. Others noticed the problem too, many concernedly asked, ”Witch, what’s wrong with you?”

It seemed the witch had quite a high status on Luili Island.

The witch pointed at Bai Ruozhu and started gesturing wildly, as if accusing Bai Ruozhu, causing everyone to turn their eyes toward her.

Bai Ruozhu sneered, ”What do you mean? Are you saying I’m harming you? Aren’t you under Lady Nuwa’s protection? How can a mere mortal like me harm you? Besides, I haven’t even touched you. Could it be that your selfish talk got you punished by Lady Nuwa?”

The crowd had felt some sympathy for Fo Lanying just now, and upon hearing Bai Ruozhu’s words, they couldn’t help but speculate whether the witch truly had been punished by Lady Nuwa.

Bai Ruozhu ignored the witch. If this hag settled down, she would detoxify her in a few days to restore her speech. If she kept causing trouble, then she might as well remain mute for life.

She wasn’t a good person to begin with, and she’d been more than patient with the witch.

”Village head, Lan Ying will be fine in a while. Thank you all for your concern; it’s getting late, let’s let everyone go home and rest.” Bai Ruozhu said to Wa Shu.

Wa Shu looked concernedly at the witch and carefully asked, ”Lord Bai, you’re skilled in medicine, can you take a look at the witch?”

”She suddenly can’t speak, but it’s not a disease. I’m just a doctor; I can’t interpret the will of the deities.” Bai Ruozhu directly refused.

”This, this...” Wa Shu didn’t know what to say.

The witch angrily lunged forward, seemingly aiming to grab Bai Ruozhu, but was stopped by the people nearby.

”Village head, the witch is upset, best to take her back first.” Someone advised.

Wa Shu had to let people pull the witch away. Bai Ruozhu watched the witch’s fierce face and felt that she’d been too gentle; this damned witch thought she was easy to bully and came at her violently.

Fo Lanying’s condition didn’t last long and gradually improved. Bai Ruozhu gave her some calming medicine, instructed Yuan Licheng to watch over her, and then returned to rest.

The next day was as usual, with Bai Ruozhu teaching medical knowledge to the people of Luili Island, when someone hurriedly ran over.

”Lord Bai, you must come quickly, Liu Si’s wound has opened again, and there’s a lot of blood!” The informant shouted loudly.

Bai Ruozhu was taken aback, by the length of time, the wound should almost be healed, right? Why would it open again?

”Alright, I’ll go take a look.” Bai Ruozhu left the others and followed the informant to Liu Si’s house. As she ran, she asked, ”How did his wound open? Did it get hit again?”

”I don’t know, it seems he was just sleeping on the bed and didn’t do anything.” The person replied.

Bai Ruozhu knew she couldn’t get any answers from him and quickened her pace, leaving the informant behind. The other people of Luili Island saw and followed along, partly because they were enthusiastic and partly due to boredom, as any minor event would attract everyone on the island.

When Bai Ruozhu arrived, the air was thick with the smell of blood, and the pillow inside the room was stained with large patches of bright red, while Liu Si lay unconscious from blood loss!

She rushed forward; normally, even if a wound opened, it wouldn’t bleed so much, given that several days had passed and the wound had healed somewhat.

Unless the wound was violently impacted again!

Bai Ruozhu quickly checked Liu Si’s wound, sure enough, the stitched area was completely torn apart, not only the wound was torn open again, but the stitched sides were ruptured, as if someone violently tore it open, even...

Bai Ruozhu noticed that the newly grown flesh inside the wound was torn apart, it was intentional!

Liu Si couldn’t have hurt himself like this, even if he were in pain he wouldn’t have had the strength to tear the wound apart like this, it must have been someone else!

She quickly treated Liu Si with needles, but the wound had become so severely torn that even suturing was challenging, it took her quite a while to fix it.

”Who was watching him before this?” Bai Ruozhu wiped the sweat from her forehead and turned to ask the people in the room.

A seemingly honest woman spoke up, ”I’m his wife, I was watching him.”

”Did anyone come by today? Were you always by his side?” Seeing the woman only crying, Bai Ruozhu said, ”His wound was intentionally torn apart.”

”What!” The woman exclaimed, and the spectators were stunned too, never had they encountered such a thing on their island, who would intentionally tear open another’s wound?

The others were equally stunned and couldn’t help but ask who did it.

Bai Ruozhu pointed at Liu Si’s already wrapped wound and said, ”Those who’ve been injured should know, if several days have passed and the wound has healed well, even if touched it wouldn’t bleed so much, unless the wound was torn open anew.”

Liu Si’s wife snapped out of her shock and said tremblingly, ”The witch came over in the morning, she couldn’t speak and I don’t know what she was doing.”

Bai Ruozhu squinted, this witch to get back at her didn’t even spare the patients she had treated, and this person was her compatriot.

”But the witch left a while ago, then I went to the toilet, when I returned my husband was bleeding heavily, so I quickly called the neighbors for help.” Liu Si’s wife said.

The village head and others were already waiting outside, hearing this, their faces darkened.

”It couldn’t be the witch, she represents Lady Nuwa, she wouldn’t do such things.” Wa Shu anxiously said.

Bai Ruozhu snorted coldly, ”No matter who it is, this is equal to attempted murder, it must be thoroughly investigated!”
