Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2391: Chapter 2390: Continuing What Was Left Unfinished

”What’s wrong?” Jiang Yichun noticed Bai Ruozhu’s reaction, asked a question, then instinctively turned to look, resulting in a scare to himself.

Water splashed, and with a thud, he fell into the hot spring pool. A golden fish tail emerged from the water, wriggling and flapping as if unable to find balance.

”Achun, are you okay?” Bai Ruozhu hurriedly jumped into the hot spring pool, dove to the bottom, and pulled him up.

The hot spring pool water was originally not deep, and standing up would expose the surface, but Jiang Yichun couldn’t stand up at the moment.

”How did this happen?” He was able to stabilize only by leaning against Bai Ruozhu, then reached to touch his legs.

No, it shouldn’t be called legs; it should be called a fish tail, and a golden one at that.

Bai Ruozhu carefully touched it as well; it felt smooth and soft, seemingly covered with a layer of soft golden scales.

She was somewhat dumbfounded and muttered to herself, ”I’m not dreaming, am I? This is too fantastical.”

Jiang Yichun lightly slapped his own golden fish tail, felt the pain afterward, and his face fell, ”It’s indeed my own tail, but why do I have a tail?”

Bai Ruozhu widened her eyes at him, ”I understand now, it’s Duannian’s golden light. Some of it entered your body, and that’s why you grew a fish tail!”

Jiang Yichun opened his mouth, clearly unable to accept this fact, but it could only be this reason.

”Help me up so I can take a good look.” Jiang Yichun was still not accustomed to the fish tail, unable to find balance.

Bai Ruozhu pulled him ashore, revealing a large golden fish tail.

”So beautiful!” Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but exclaim, the golden fish tail displayed a gemstone-like luster, with droplets of water hanging on it, making it hard for Bai Ruozhu to look away.

Jiang Yichun was filled with embarrassment, ”What’s so beautiful about it? How am I supposed to walk?”

”Maybe if I cut your tail, the golden light inside will escape like Duannian’s, and you won’t have a fish tail anymore?” Bai Ruozhu pondered, holding her chin, while another hand couldn’t help but gently stroke Jiang Yichun’s fish tail, finding the texture quite pleasant.

”Stop touching it!” Jiang Yichun shouted, his voice somewhat raspy, with a slight blush on his cheeks.

Bai Ruozhu glanced at him hurriedly; she was too familiar with such a voice, as he always spoke in a low, raspy tone whenever he was affectionate.

She only lightly touched the fish tail, and his reaction was so pronounced; it was too unsafe. What if someone else touched his fish tail?

”It’s strange, Duannian’s fish tail is blue-green, why is yours golden? Is it because of that golden light?” Bai Ruozhu used her finger to poke the fish tail, studying it.

”Stop messing around and later go ask Duannian.” Jiang Yichun’s voice had a tremor.

”Hey, your fish tail’s surface isn’t dry outside the water, unlike Duannian’s.” Bai Ruozhu said as she picked up clothes from the side and helped him dry off the fish tail. This made Jiang Yichun even more uncomfortable, and he couldn’t help but let out a low hum.

Bai Ruozhu felt her ears burning, as his voice was already pleasant, akin to a cup of rich fine wine when deep and low, now making her a bit intoxicated.

Wasn’t this what people said about getting pregnant just by hearing a voice?

”Come over!” He called lowly, grabbing her arm and pulling her into his embrace.

Caught off guard, she fell onto him, accidentally sitting on the fish tail, which caused him to let out another low hum.

”Achun...” She wanted to say maybe they should figure out the fish tail issue first, but didn’t he worry about it?

Initially, it was apparent he was emotional and well in the mood to do things married couples do.

Bai Ruozhu became somewhat dazed from his kiss, completely losing any ability to resist, and soon he flipped over and pressed her down, enveloping her.

Bai Ruozhu’s face flushed, she opened her mouth to lightly nibble his earlobe, which truly sent a shiver through him, his whole body trembling with excitement.

Bai Ruozhu tried to kick against him, passionately responding to him, but suddenly felt something was off.

She hurriedly looked down and couldn’t help but exclaim, ”Achun, your tail is gone!”

Jiang Yichun sat up abruptly, looked down at his legs, and saw they were still just legs, with no sign of the golden fish tail.

Could it have been an illusion just now? No, it was one thing if he was hallucinating, but Ruozhu didn’t see wrong either.

”I’ve figured it out!” Bai Ruozhu said excitedly, ”Your legs transform into a fish tail when they get wet, but dry out they’ll revert back. So no need to worry too much anymore.”

”It can actually be like this?” Jiang Yichun muttered.

Bai Ruozhu simply laughed, ”The mermaids I knew were all like this before; you just need to be careful when it rains.”

Jiang Yichun leaned over and pressed down on her again, ”Let’s talk about this later, let’s finish what we started first...”

”You...” Bai Ruozhu still wanted to say he was being ridiculous, but her mouth was suddenly stopped, words swallowed back.

A night of delightful freedom followed, and upon waking the next day, Jiang Yichun began to worry since any normal man would struggle with suddenly having a fish tail, right?

Even though the tail vanished upon leaving the water, there was an added uncertainty for the future, like if an enemy discovered his secret and threw water at him during a confrontation; he turned into a fish tail then how would he move freely, let alone fight?

He silently sighed; the fish tail would only be useful in the ocean, but he really didn’t want this fish tail!

Bai Ruozhu got up swiftly like the wind, rubbed her sore waist, and grumbled, ”One day you’re just fooling around; I’m heading to ask Duannian what’s going on.”

”Don’t let others know about it.” Jiang Yichun quickly said.

Bai Ruozhu thought he found it embarrassing, not realizing he was thinking deeper, worried enemies would use it against him.

”Alright, I won’t say anything for now.” Bai Ruozhu responded and dashed out.

A brief journey where Bai Ruozhu’s head spun with countless thoughts; how to inquire with Duannian without revealing too much, determine if Duannian and Achun are in a similar situation, or maybe ask Duannian to help Achun revert back?

After knocking on Duannian’s door, Bai Ruozhu had already made her decision.

”Duannian, how’s your recovery?” She asked as soon as she walked in.

Duannian hadn’t fully awoken, squinted and said, ”Bai Ruozhu, you got up too early, haven’t you had breakfast yet?”

Bai Ruozhu chuckled awkwardly, ”I suddenly remembered a myth I read a long time ago and wanted to verify it with you.”

Wa Wei leaned over with anticipation, asking, ”Sister Ruozhu, what’s the myth related to Duannian?”

Bai Ruozhu nodded, starting to weave a story.

”It is said that someone was bitten by a spider once...”
