Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2343: Chapter 2342: Sunrise at Sea (Fifth Watch)

Fo Lanying was still a bit at a loss, mainly because she was hurting over the money—ten taels of silver. That little silver she had was from working for Bai Ruozhu, which Bai Ruozhu gave her.

Bai Ruozhu secretly gave her a look, and Fo Lanying snapped back to reality. Was she being silly? This was also for helping Bai Ruozhu with her tasks. Money spent is just spent; maybe Ruozhu would give her more anyway.

Thinking of this, Fo Lanying happily took out ten taels of silver and exchanged them for a small packet.

”Aren’t the rest of you buying?” Zheng Xin looked towards the others. Seeing no one responded, he smiled and said, ”Come to me anytime if you need something.”

Once he left, Fo Lanying immediately handed the packet to Bai Ruozhu.

”Alright, everyone go back to your rooms and rest. We’ll set sail tomorrow.” Bai Ruozhu told everyone before returning to the room with Jiang Yichun.

As soon as she entered, she gingerly opened the packet to inspect it.

”How is it?” Jiang Yichun asked.

”It really is a good seasickness medicine formula, and the medicinal materials used are good too, it’s just that the price is rather steep.” Bai Ruozhu laughed, wrapping up the packet and tossing it into Space.

”I told you, Zheng Xin is a greedy person.” Jiang Yichun said disdainfully.

”People are risking their lives doing this job, the risks at sea are huge, it’s normal to want to earn more. I’ll have others buy some from him later, we need to maintain good relationships after all.” Bai Ruozhu said.

Jiang Yichun said helplessly, ”Alright, we’ll do as you say.”

The two quickly tidied up and then embraced each other and slept.

The next day, just as dawn broke, the sound of the anchor lifting rang out on the boat, waking Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun. They discovered the ship had already started moving.

They got dressed and went up to the deck, just in time to see the sun rising on the distant horizon, dyeing the sky red for a moment. Bai Ruozhu was enthralled by the sight.

Jiang Yichun put his arm around her shoulder, ”How lucky am I to see such a beautiful scene with you?”

Bai Ruozhu felt her eyes warm, reached up to touch them, and found tears uncontrollably flowing out, cooled by the wind on her face.

”Why are you crying?” Jiang Yichun fumbled to wipe her tears, mistakenly thinking she was worried about her vein curse, feeling a bit guilty.

Bai Ruozhu shook her head with a smile, ”I was just touched for a moment.”

Looking off into the distance, she continued, ”A long time ago, I was a girl who loved to dream, constantly imagining a remote palace in the sky, hidden behind the clouds. I even thought there would be someone who would break through all the obstacles to come up to me and say, ’I’ve come to take you home!’”

She laughed again, ”Isn’t it silly? I even thought I didn’t belong to that world, that I should be someone from an alien planet, that the clouds are my home.”

Jiang Yichun held her shoulders, ”You weren’t wrong, you truly don’t belong there, which is why you broke through the layers and returned to where you belong, because I’m here waiting for you.”

With that, he lowered his head and kissed her lips, releasing her after a kiss and gently saying, ”I’ve come to take you home!”

Bai Ruozhu started laughing, ”The man I imagined was handsome but not nearly as devilishly handsome as you.”

Jiang Yichun’s face fell, ”Are you saying you’re not satisfied with me? I’m not your dream lover?”

Bai Ruozhu giggled, leaned in to his ear and said, ”You are my idol, didn’t I just help you have three little monkeys?”

Jiang Yichun held her tightly, wanting to remember this moment forever, no, he wanted to work hard to live, to leave more beautiful memories with her.

The sound of coughing interrupted them from behind, Mo Beishan said awkwardly, ”You two are up early.”

Bai Ruozhu hurriedly left Jiang Yichun’s embrace, blushing, ”We just caught the sunrise, too bad you missed it.”

”No worries, we can see it every morning, won’t take long for you to tire of it.” Mo Beishan casually said, earning simultaneous eye-rolls from Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun.

Soon thereafter, cheers erupted from the ship cabin, as Yizi and Fo Lanying dashed out from their room, excitedly jumping up and down on the deck.

But before long, their expressions changed to sour.

”Did you take the seasickness medicine?” Bai Ruozhu quietly asked.

Only then did the two remember the seasickness medicine Bai Ruozhu had given them, quickly swallowing it down.

After a while, the two finally looked better.

Suddenly, someone rushed onto the deck, storming to the edge of the ship and vomiting.

Bai Ruozhu was startled to find the one vomiting was little Daoist Qiu Zhi.

”Why is he vomiting so much? Didn’t you give him the seasickness medicine?” Jiang Yichun asked worriedly, recalling Qiu Zhi’s contribution in fighting the Gufeng.

”I did give it, could it be his unhealed internal injuries causing his poor physical condition?” Bai Ruozhu frowned, asking Yizi to get some hot water.

Qiu Zhi drank some hot water and looked slightly better.

”Did you take the seasickness medicine? Why is your reaction so bad? We haven’t even entered the sea yet, if it gets windy and the ship rocks more, how will you stand?” Bai Ruozhu said worriedly.

Qiu Zhi’s face turned even paler in fear, ashamedly saying, ”I—I didn’t take the medicine.”

”Huh? Why didn’t you take it?” Fo Lanying knew how uncomfortable it gets, looking at Qiu Zhi as if he was foolish.

Qiu Zhi’s face reddened, ”I thought Zheng Xin’s seasickness medicine cost ten taels of silver, so the master’s medicine must be even more expensive, I was a bit reluctant to take it...”

Bai Ruozhu’s mouth twitched, how did she end up with such a fool!

”You weren’t planning on selling the medicine and sending it back to your Dragon Tiger Gate, were you?” Bai Ruozhu asked helplessly.

Qiu Zhi nodded awkwardly.

Jiang Yichun smacked him on the head, ”When I tell you to take it, just do it! Keep disregarding orders and get lost, getting seasick all the time, how will you be of any use in danger? We’d have to send people to protect you, you better just get off the boat and spare us the trouble.”

Upon hearing he might be kicked out, Qiu Zhi quickly took the seasickness medicine and put it in his mouth, ”I know I was wrong, I won’t act rashly anymore.”

Bai Ruozhu glared at him, their beautiful morning ruined by his vomit, she’d seen people stingy, but never like this.

She simply pulled Jiang Yichun back to the room, into Space to blend the medicinal materials, staying until almost noon.

At midday, everyone gathered, and the boat’s mess hall sent over food. Bai Ruozhu noticed there was still a little girl accompanying her, with skin dark but appearing very healthy.

Seeing Bai Ruozhu looking at her, she gave a big grin at Bai Ruozhu, revealing a set of bright white teeth, with eyes shining particularly lively.

Bai Ruozhu got interested, calling her over and asked, ”What’s your name, are you always on the boat?”

The girl wasn’t shy, and smilingly said, ”I’m called Teng Ya, born on this boat, my parents both cook on the boat.”

As she spoke, she suddenly glanced at Bai Ruozhu’s embroidered shoes, unable to help looking at her petite feet, her face turning red.
