Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2314: Chapter 2313: The Person They’re Looking For Isn’t Her

Bai Ruozhu did not know the leader of the Iron Cavalry, and she even disliked him a bit for his rudeness and because he was from the Yueqiu Tribe. However, upon seeing this scene, she felt deep admiration and regret.

She wiped away the tears from her face and hoped that the leader of the Iron Cavalry could be reborn into a peaceful era in his next life, where he wouldn’t have to fight on the battlefield.

Outside the city, Danliang soldiers cheered, ”Ma Xianfeng is mighty! Ma Xianfeng is mighty!”

At this time, Ma Tongfang was not yet a General, just the vanguard of the army.

”Sir, congratulations on killing Manda, the leader of the Yueqiu Tribe’s Iron Cavalry! When you return, you will definitely be made a Partial General!” Ma Tongfang’s confidant said excitedly.

Ma Tongfang laughed heartily, ”What’s this? I must win this battle as well.”

He looked towards the City Gate and transmitted a message using inner strength, ”Tell the chief of the Yueqiu Tribe that the person he wants has been captured by me. If he wants them alive, he must come and negotiate with me personally!”

After saying this, Ma Tongfang didn’t waste any more time and ordered the soldiers to retreat a mile and set up camp, sending a squad to clear the Battlefield.

The Luo Family member was being dragged by him and was crying heavily. Bai Ruozhu felt sympathy but also helplessness; why didn’t this member of the Luo Family have any capacity to resist? Was it because of a severe illness, or had Ma Tongfang done something underhanded to seal their inner strength?

Since it was too far, Bai Ruozhu couldn’t distinguish, and soon sleep overtook her. With previous experience, she didn’t resist and slowly fell asleep.

She didn’t know how long she slept, but this time she awoke in the same place, showing the story continued here. She looked around, wondering why she didn’t see Achun. Where had he gone?

Logically, Achun, with his Merfolk Bloodline, should be more attuned to the environment of the Merfolk, making it easier to see the core parts, right?

At this time, the sound of hoofbeats arose, and a middle-aged man wearing leopard skin, with gold thread tied into his hair and his hair braided in small braids, charged forward at the lead.

”Where are they?” he asked.

”Chief, they are camped a mile away, held by them,” a member of the Yueqiu Tribe replied. Bai Ruozhu recognized him; he was previously the deputy of the Iron Cavalry team.

Clenching his teeth and with a pained expression, he said, ”We were ambushed by Ma Tongfang, and the leader died saving us. We must avenge him!”

Unfortunately, the chief’s mind wasn’t on his words. He told his trusted aide, ”Send a message, tell Ma Tongfang to bring the people, we’ll talk after I see them.”

The Iron Cavalry deputy was furious. How could their chief act like this? Not even caring about the leader’s death, only concerned with that demon. What was so captivating about it!

Soon, a reply came from the other side, ”Our vanguard said for the Yueqiu Tribe’s chief to meet out of the city, or in half an hour, he will kill the demon.”

”Chief, you can’t go, it must be a trap!” someone urgently advised, but it was as if the Yueqiu Tribe chief was cursed, worrying uncontrollably, and immediately agreed to the demand.

Seeing the people about to leave the city, possibly going further, Bai Ruozhu quickly found a hidden place, descended the city wall, and went to the nearby forest.

At this time, the chief left the city, followed by dozens of highly skilled guards.

In the distance, the sound of hoofbeats approached as Ma Tongfang brought a team of cavalry, dragging the Luo Family member along.

”Why is it her? Where’s Fang Qing?” The chief, catching sight of the Luo Family member’s face, couldn’t help but shout.

In an instant, Ma Tongfang’s face turned unusually grim. He excelled at reading people, and how could he not see that the Yueqiu Tribe chief was tense and worried about Fang Qing, not this Luo Family member?

Bai Ruozhu was also stunned; it turned out the person the Yueqiu Tribe chief wanted wasn’t the Luo Family member but Fang Qing! He was taken with that man!

However, she was accustomed to Zhou Jue’s and Ji Ziyan’s matters, a seasoned fujoshi, she was only briefly surprised before accepting it.

Merfolks are naturally beautiful, regardless of gender. Even the southern Merfolk were extremely handsome, and the Yueqiu Tribe Chief’s different orientation, being captivated by a male Merfolk, was normal.

Bai Ruozhu felt a bit excited, as a fujoshi would, but her shoulder was suddenly tapped. Startled, she turned around to see Jiang Yichun standing behind her, gesturing for silence.

”Achun!” Bai Ruozhu called softly, rushing to tightly embrace him. She had thought he hadn’t made it in, thought she’d have to investigate alone. Thankfully, he found her!

”We’ll talk later, don’t get discovered,” Jiang Yichun whispered, brushing his lips against her cheek.

Bai Ruozhu felt reassured, this time tightly holding his hand. Even if she couldn’t pull him into the Space, she didn’t want to be separated again.

”Fang Qing is in my camp’s jail. If you want him, you must surrender and grant Xunyang City to Danliang, and I’ll hand him over unharmed,” Ma Tongfang loudly declared.

The Luo Family member looked up, glaring angrily at him, ”He’s lying... He killed Aqing...”

”What!” The Yueqiu Tribe chief swayed as if he would fall from his horse.

”He’s not dead. I only lied to this woman to scare her. If you don’t believe, I’ll send someone to bring Fang Qing right away,” Ma Tongfang said, gesturing to his subordinates.

The Luo Family member stared at him in disbelief, ”What did you say? Aqing is still alive?”

Ma Tongfang ignored her, looking dismissively at her.

”Speak! Is Aqing really alive?” The Luo Family member shouted, which made her cough violently.

Ma Tongfang threw her to the ground like a piece of trash, ”He’s alive; I said it twice already. Unless you’re deaf, you should have heard me.”

The Luo Family member glared at him angrily, ”I’m your elder sister. How can you treat me like this? Do you even have a heart?”

Ma Tongfang sneered, ”Sister? Your existence as a bastard is a disgrace to the Ma Family. I’m ashamed to have a sister like you.”

The Luo Family member laughed, ”So, from the beginning, recognizing kinship and helping us was all premeditated. I was blind to trust a so-called relative like you, or Aqing wouldn’t have been implicated.”

Bai Ruozhu glanced at Jiang Yichun and said in a low voice, ”No wonder when we claimed to be the Luo Family member’s relatives, Fang Qing was so cold.”

Jiang Yichun nodded, ”Even our Shadow Guard missed it. There might even be Ma Tongfang’s people among them.”

”Hmph, he’s quite ambitious. Did you see him use so many innocent soldiers as bait?” Bai Ruozhu asked.

Jiang Yichun shook his head, ”I just found out and don’t know why I was so late.”

In the distance, the sound of hoofbeats came, and Ma Tongfang’s confidant returned with Fang Qing. The Luo Family member, upon seeing clearly, covered her mouth and cried, ”Thank goodness, Aqing is alive, Aqing is alive!”
