Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2325: Chapter 2324: The Secret Revealed

”How could this happen?” Bai Ruozhu asked anxiously, only to find that Jiang Yichun was no longer by her side.

She sighed silently, it was the same again.

Everything around her had changed, but upon closer inspection, she found she was still near the Luo Family residence. It was just that, being more than twenty years ago, the streets and houses were different from now.

The streets were empty, and the sky was already darkening. She slowly walked towards the Luo Family’s house. Was this the time after they had fled the Yueqiu Tribe?

How did Fang Qing kill the Yueqiu clan leader?

With doubts, Bai Ruozhu found the Luo Family’s house, sneaked in by climbing over the wall, and made a hole in the window to observe.

Inside, Luo seemed to be sleeping, but she suddenly opened her eyes, giving Bai Ruozhu a fright.

Then Luo slowly got up and walked towards the inner room, where Fang Qing was sitting in front of the Bronze Mirror, painting something on his face.

”You, you’re not Aqing!” Luo screamed in terror.

Fang Qing turned around, and only then did Bai Ruozhu see clearly. He looked particularly young, just like a little teenager, the paint on his face hadn’t been spread, making him look somewhat ridiculous.

”You must be bad people, people of the Yueqiu clan leader. Where did you take my Aqing?” Luo screamed hysterically.

Only then did Bai Ruozhu realize Luo had mental issues, probably from too much trauma.

”Mom, mom, don’t get excited, I...” He stopped halfway, regretful, and stamped his foot, feeling helpless about what to do.

That’s right, the man in front was not Fang Qing, but their son Aluo, the child they mentioned before Ma Tongfang tricked them!

Why did Fang Luo impersonate his father, and where did Fang Qing go?

The more Bai Ruozhu thought, the heavier her heart sank. It was very likely Fang Qing was already dead because the Merfolk had a Vein Curse that prevented them from living past thirty. Perhaps Fang Luo saw his mother’s unstable emotions and disguised himself as his father to comfort her.

If this is the truth, then wouldn’t her trip with Achun be in vain?

Disappointment suddenly flooded her heart, but Bai Ruozhu quickly shook her head, set aside her emotional distress. She was fully prepared; even if it wasn’t feasible here, they could still search the Donghai, there’s bound to be a way.

Inside, Luo panicked, wandering frantically like a headless fly, clutching her hair tightly as she walked, muttering, ”No, no, it can’t be, Aqing is still alive, he is!”

Fang Luo rushed to comfort her, ”Yes, alive, alive, get some sleep and you’ll see him soon, go and sleep.”

”He’s really alive, you’re not lying to me?” Luo grabbed Fang Luo’s collar.

”No, really not lying to you.” Fang Luo’s eyes revealed helplessness, along with some sadness.

He helped Luo back to bed, where she lay disoriented, soon closing her eyes.

Fang Luo turned back to the inner room, continuing to paint in front of the Bronze Mirror. His face showed no emotion, seeming numb, making Bai Ruozhu feel rather sad.

”Who!” Fang Luo called in a suppressed voice, afraid of waking Luo. His voice carried a murderous intent but dared not be too loud.

Bai Ruozhu’s heart tightened. Did he discover her? She’d been in the Illusory Realm for three days without anyone noticing her; why would Fang Luo notice?

Fang Luo suddenly stood up, jumped out the window, and into the courtyard.

”Who is there?” He asked a shadow, and not far away Bai Ruozhu secretly breathed a sigh of relief; it turned out it wasn’t her who had been discovered.

”Amitabha, ghostly Qi is prevalent here, I, the monk, have come to enlighten you.” The Buddha’s chant sounded, and a monk emerged from the shadows. Moonlight cast on his face and his bald head, adding a touch of sanctity.

Bai Ruozhu was surprised to see the monk in the courtyard; it was Gao De!

”You can’t even tell if I’m a person or a ghost, and you talk of enlightenment?” Fang Luo sneered, ”Monk, no one here is doing evil, those people are innocent civilians who tragically died during Tu City’s massacre; they could put aside their resentment and continue their lives. Why disturb them?”

”Not so. After all, ghosts don’t belong in this world, and if they remain too long, they will inevitably turn into Vicious Ghosts, and by then no one will be able to stop them.” Gao De said, pressing his palms together to salute, ”I see both you and your mother are not evil, harboring goodwill, therefore, I don’t wish to act against you. You should persuade your mother to stop early; it’s detrimental to her.”

Fang Luo smiled wryly, ”Do you think she doesn’t want to stop? She’s been traumatized, her mind is mentally unstable, she doesn’t even know what she’s doing. I have to impersonate my father every day to soothe her, how can she stop?”

”Amitabha, can you let me, the monk, have a try?” Gao De asked.

”How can I trust you?” Fang Luo looked guarded.

”If I can’t stop her Illusory Realm, then I won’t intervene again, nor will I act against you and your mother. How’s that? I am Puming Monk from Xinchan Temple, I swear on Xinchan Temple’s reputation that I won’t break my oath. With Buddha above, if I breach my word, let me Puming fall into Abi Hell and suffer endless torment.”

The Gao De before them was completely different from the Gao De Bai Ruozhu had encountered; he was as compassionate as Master Pu Zhu, and based on his Buddhist name, he was likely Master Pu Zhu’s junior brother.

Eventually, Fang Luo believed his words, nodding in agreement, ”But you can’t harm my mother, or I will lay down my life, and bury the entire city with us!”

”Benefactor’s murderous intent is too heavy.” Gao De sighed.

Soon he set up an altar in the courtyard, then sat in the center chanting scriptures.

As the scripture echoed, noises gradually appeared, Bai Ruozhu strained her ears to listen, soon identifying them as waves of crying, painful screams intertwined, making her heart unbearably sad.

Soon the sounds grew louder; Gao De’s chanting awakened the ghosts from the Illusory Realm so they could go to the Underworld and reincarnate, but upon awakening, they trudged painfully, constantly wailing.

Soon fine beads of sweat appeared on Gao De’s forehead; he was struggling, seemingly unable to stop Luo’s Illusory Realm, or unable to enlighten so many resentful ghosts.

Finally, the screams rose to a peak, Gao De spat out a mouthful of blood and collapsed to the ground.

Inside, Luo seemed unaffected by the noise and continued to sleep. Soon the surrounding sounds subsided, gradually returning to peace.

Those people—no, those ghosts—returned to the Illusory Realm, back to their peaceful lives before death.

”Master, are you alright?” Fang Luo went to help Gao De up.

”Enough, I am powerless.” Gao De said, shaking his head, ”But I won’t leave, I will watch over this place.”

”Didn’t you promise not to interfere anymore?” Fang Luo said angrily, cold light flashing in his eyes.
