Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1491: Chapter 1592: If You Do Something Wrong, You Should Admit Your Punishment_1

Although Jiang Yichun was chased out of the room by Bai Ruozhu, as a martial artist with exceptional hearing, how could he not hear Ling’s nonsense? He wished he could rush in and stuff a rag into Ling’s mouth to stop her from spouting nonsense that might cause Ruozhu to misunderstand.

Bai Ruozhu applied Golden Wound Medicine to her injuries, then wrapped them up simply and fed her a Qi-replenishing pill before walking out of the room.

As soon as the door opened, she met with a pair of anxious eyes. A chill crept into her heart. Was he really that worried?

”The wound has been taken care of; you should find another doctor for the rest. I don’t believe there isn’t a single trustworthy doctor by the emperor’s side. Also, stop sending just anyone my way. This is my house, and you’d better ask for my consent first.” Bai Ruozhu dropped the words and walked away. Jiang Yichun hurriedly grabbed her arm.

”Ruozhu, are you angry? I really have nothing to do with her. Why must you do this?” he explained quickly.

”She’s unconscious and still calling out for you, wouldn’t it be too heartless of you to talk like this? Moreover, you had the chance to explain things to me on our way here, yet you deliberately chose not to. Isn’t it because you were afraid I wouldn’t agree to save her?” Bai Ruozhu’s anger grew as she thought about it. ”Since you’re so worried about her, just stay by her side and take care of her, and don’t come back to this house!”

Jiang Yichun didn’t expect her to be so furious and hurried to take her hand, ”What’s gotten into you, Ruozhu? Don’t you understand how I feel about you by now? I had no idea she harbored such feelings. It would have been problematic if she had died, and I didn’t want to expose our connection. That’s why I thought of looking for a trustworthy doctor, and you are the person I trust the most.”

”Trust the most? Aren’t there still many things you’re keeping from me? That woman inside, how can she become so attached to you after meeting you for just a few days? Do you really take me for a fool?” Bai Ruozhu said indignantly.

A flicker of hesitation crossed Jiang Yichun’s eyes, and, seeing the increased suspicion in Bai Ruozhu’s, she pushed him away forcefully, ”I give you a quarter of an hour to take her away, or else I’ll just throw her out onto the street myself. You know I mean what I say and I will do it!”

”Ruozhu!” Jiang Yichun called out, but Bai Ruozhu sharply interrupted him, ”Jianqi, keep an eye on him. If that woman is still here after a quarter of an hour, lead your men to throw her out. No mercy for anyone who tries to stop you!”

Jianqi’s body tensed up. No mercy? His master was truly angered.

Bai Ruozhu didn’t want to talk more with Jiang Yichun and made her way to the front yard. Her Little Dengdeng was playing there, yet his father, who hadn’t seen him for more than half a month, didn’t go to see him upon return but was busy saving another woman.

Jiang Yichun wanted to follow Bai Ruozhu, but Jianqi stopped him, ”Son-in-law, don’t make it difficult for us. Please take her away first, or nothing you say to the master will matter.”

Fire blazed through Jiang Yichun’s eyes, and he dearly wished he could give Jianqi a beating.

”If you really care for your master, don’t stop me. That Shadow Guard has a special status. If she dies at the Bai Family, it would be difficult to explain to the emperor.”

Jianqi’s face was stern, and he didn’t budge. ”I don’t know how special anyone else is, but I know the master’s orders are of utmost importance. Son-in-law, the incident from last time has already cast a shadow on the master’s heart. She is still angry, and you shouldn’t have brought another woman home.”

Upon mentioning the last incident, Jiang Yichun’s spirit deflated. He couldn’t control himself at the time, but even after freeing himself from the evil technique’s control, he still vividly remembered the scene. He could never forget that thrust with the sword, the tragic expression in Bai Ruozhu’s eyes.

After a moment of silence, he signaled for the Shadow Guards to come and take Ling away. The Shadow Guard named Jiao glared at him angrily and said in a low voice, ”Sir Jiang, she is hanging by a thread. Isn’t it dishonorable to abandon her like this?”

”The emperor will arrange for a better doctor to treat her. If you are worried, you can stay with her,” Jiang Yichun said coldly, and with that, he headed for the front yard.

By then, Bai Ruozhu had already paid her respects to her parents and hugged Little Dengdeng tightly, kissing him fiercely. She buried her face in her son’s shoulder, feeling a bitter taste in her heart.

On the one hand, she thought of all that had happened during this period, and there was always a knot in her heart that she couldn’t untangle. On the other hand, she thought of how long her son had been without his father’s company and felt sad for him.

”Mother, what’s wrong? Are you crying?” Children are very sensitive; Little Dengdeng quickly noticed his mother’s unusual state.

”Ruozhu, what’s the matter?” Lin Ping hurriedly asked as well.

Bai Ruozhu suppressed the displeasure in her heart and put on a smile again, letting go of Little Dengdeng and standing up, she said, ”What could possibly be wrong with me? I just feel that Dengdeng is growing up, I need to hug him tightly while I can, or he won’t let his mother hug him when he gets bigger.”

Upon hearing this, Dengdeng puffed up his little face and said, ”Even when I grow up, I’ll let mother hug me, I love my mother the most!”

Lin Ping and Bai Yihong burst into laughter, thinking they were worrying over nothing.

Suddenly, Jiang Yichun entered the front yard, holding a washboard which he had asked for from the maids in the house, and briskly walked into the Main Hall. Lin Ping and Bai Yihong were stunned by his appearance.

”I pay my respects to father, mother,” Jiang Yichun first bowed to the elders. Lin Ping and Bai Yihong snapped back to reality and quickly told him there was no need for such formality; Bai Yihong, looking at the washboard in his hand, asked, ”Yichun, why do you have a washboard?”

Every man in the Bai Family knew what a washboard was for, especially Bai Yihong, who had a particularly vivid memory of that object.

”Father, one should face punishment if he has done something wrong. I made Ruozhu angry, and I’ve come to accept my punishment,” Jiang Yichun said while also looking at Bai Ruozhu with a face full of guilt and nervousness.

”Uh, I see...” Bai Yihong felt his mouth faltering; he really shouldn’t have asked. Now it was just awkward, and he didn’t know how to respond to his son-in-law’s statement.

Lin Ping reacted quickly, she winked at Bai Yihong and said, ”Oh dear, I don’t know how dinner is coming along. Zehao said he wanted sweet and sour ribs, and I think I didn’t explain it clearly to the kitchen. Come with me, and we’ll check on the kitchen.”

As she spoke, she also went to pull Little Dengdeng aside, whispering, ”Grandma will take you to the kitchen to have some fried meatballs, we’ll come back later.”

Unfortunately, Little Dengdeng had not yet grown perceptive enough. Plus, his father had always been busy and hadn’t played with him lately, so he simply grabbed his father’s leg and refused to leave.

”Grandma, you go ahead, I don’t want fried meatballs.” Little Dengdeng said without turning his head.

Seeing there was no recourse, and not wanting to remain in the awkwardness, Lin Ping had no choice but to leave with Bai Yihong.

”Are you done with your antics? Why do you bring up such things in front of my parents?” Bai Ruozhu said, displeased.

”I’ve already sent her away, I know you’re still angry with me. Is it not enough that I’m admitting my mistake?” Jiang Yichun said, then threw the washboard onto the ground and, lifting the front of his robe, knelt down on it.

Bai Ruozhu was taken aback. This was the family’s Main Hall, where anyone coming and going could see; it was the place for receiving guests. His kneeling here, what did it look like!
