Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Looking at Ah Da, whose face was turning paler, Ye Jian questioned Duo Ji, who was panting from suppressed sorrow, in a tense voice, ”Why did you stop halfway and bring a prisoner down? Why did the escaped prisoner have a sharp weapon on him?”

According to the rules, Ye Jian had no right to ask. However, she had seen the dead policeman, Dayang Ciwang, lying in a pool of blood… And the possibility of saving the policeman, Ah Da, was extremely low. Ye Jian couldn’t help but ask.

Her questioning voice was extremely sharp.

Duo Ji choked and was about to explain when Ah Da spoke.

His voice was so weak that it was as if he could stop breathing at any moment. ”Big Brother Ciwang… fell sick. I… I tried to save him. Wu Gan… sneak attacked from behind and cut his throat. The murder weapon… plastic… sheet, the hospital… Someone… helped him.”

It wasn’t Tibetan. It was a common language. He didn’t hide the news from the young female soldier who was helping them. He wanted Ye Jian to hear it. He wanted to answer Ye Jian’s question. He explained to Ye Jian that it had nothing to do with his colleagues.

The escaped prisoner had a sharp piece of plastic that could cut his throat. Someone from the hospital helped the prisoner. The police officer, Dayang Ciwang, had suddenly fallen sick. Duo Ji, who was guarding the prisoner, went to save him. However, Ah Da ended up getting cut by the prisoner, who had already planned it. In that case, the prisoner was very skilled seeing as he succeeded in one fell swoop.

Ye Jian lowered her eyes to hide the gloominess in them.

’Captain Xia, you have to be careful.’

After speaking weakly, blood spurted out of Ah Da’s mouth again. Duo Ji shouted at the top of his lungs, ”Drive faster, drive faster!”

Tibetan men didn’t cry easily. At this moment, their tears and roars flew.

Duo Ji wasn’t young anymore. He was in his early 30s and was tanned from the strong ultraviolet rays on the highlands. Duo Ji, who was in his early 30s, looked like he was almost 40 years old. One of his comrades had been sacrificed, and the fate of the other was unknown. This made the Tibetan man instantly age a lot.

The police siren sounded all the way. The police officer driving increased the speed of the car to 180 miles per hour and headed toward the small county city that was more than 80 kilometers away.

In this era, there was no mobile signal in many places in the desert. Even though they had cell phones on them, there was no service. Ye Jian kept her cell phone in her line of sight and waited for the signal before making the call.

Police cars were all equipped with satellite phones, but this wasn’t a police car. It was a civilian car. They couldn’t contact the outside immediately because there was no signal!

The only satellite mobile phone used for emergency communication was also taken away by the escaped prisoner…

They should’ve borrowed a phone at the service area. As Ye Jian thought to herself, she frowned. No, there was no time to borrow a phone. The best choice was to drive to the hospital quickly.

She pressed her hand against Ah Da’s neck and didn’t dare to let go. Duo Ji kept staring at Ye Jian’s cell phone until a bar representing the signal appeared.

There were only one and two bars of signal, but it was enough to make Duo Ji ecstatic.

He called 120 and asked the hospital to immediately arrange for people to be on standby. Then, he called the station. Before he could finish explaining what had happened, the cell phone indicated that there was no service or internet.

There was no service or internet. He couldn’t even make an emergency call to the station.

Duo Ji, who was holding the cell phone tightly, heaved up and down violently. He lowered his head and kept talking to his comrade, Ah Da, whose eyes were so weak that he couldn’t open them. ”Ah DA, hold on for a while longer. Hold on for a while longer. We’re almost at the hospital. Don’t sleep, Ah Da. We’re almost at the hospital.”
