Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Ye Jian, who was sitting on the top of the mountain, turned around and smiled at the young officer behind her. Her smile was brighter than the sun. It was like the rising sun breaking through the shackles of darkness and welcoming a new day with its most beautiful posture.

Xia Jinyuan, who was standing still, smiled too. He knew that his girl had walked out of her sorrow and was using her best mentality to face the coming days.

In the past few days, Ye Jian hadn’t been smiling much. Even when she smiled, there was always a hint of sadness between her eyebrows. Xia Jinyuan’s heart ached when he saw this.

However, it was something that had to be done. No matter how much he persuaded her, she had to rely on herself to walk out of her sorrow. As her boyfriend, no matter how much he persuaded her, it was useless.

Now that she had moved on, Xia Jinyuan felt relaxed.

”If you want to see the rising sun, you have to do it earlier. It’s too late now. The sun has already risen. It’s the most beautiful moment when the golden light breaks through the sky.”

Xia Jinyuan walked over with a smile and sat down beside Ye Jian.

He naturally placed his strong long arm around Ye Jian’s shoulder and let her lean into his arms. He laid her head on his shoulder, and they looked at the desert scenery together.

Ye Jian leaned into his arms naturally. She snuggled into the arms that had been giving her strength and guiding her forward.

The scenery in front of them was not as lush and vibrant as the forest. As far as the eye could see, it even felt desolate. However, there was a firmness in the desolation. If you looked at it for a long time, your mood would unknowingly become exceptionally broad.

The undulations seemed to extend to the end of the sky. When Ye Jian saw the brownish-green bushes growing in the desolate mountain range, her pitch-black eyes narrowed slightly, and her facial expression became calmer.

”They’re really beautiful…” she said in a low voice. ”It’s the beauty of tenacity. They’re never afraid of the heat or the cold.”

Who were they?

Xia Jinyuan knew who she was talking about. He put his arm around her shoulder and said gently, ”They’re not the most beautiful. I’ll bring you to see the true desert scenery when I have the chance.”

”The wind-dried poplar trees that stand for a thousand years, the yellow sand all over the sky, the bright golden leaves, the wind blowing from the mountains. There’s the smell of snow and the smell of sand… You’ll also see the golden leaves of the poplar trees falling, the smoke rising from the desert, the setting sun over the long river… The most beautiful scenery is that.”

As the man beside her talked about the scenery of the desert, Ye Jian’s mind had already painted the eternal desert scenery.

She had been to the borders a few times. The scenery was right in front of her eyes, but she couldn’t stop to admire it.

Firstly, she didn’t have the time. Secondly, she didn’t think it was beautiful at that time.

Thinking about it now, she felt a little regretful.

She wondered if the female soldiers would stop and admire the scenery around them. They would probably be like her. They probably didn’t have time and didn’t think it would be beautiful.

If one didn’t admire it with one’s heart, how could one find it beautiful?

”Do you know what the spirit of a poplar tree is?” He tilted his head and kissed Ye Jian’s forehead. Ye Jian looked up and shook her head gently.

Spirit of a poplar tree?

She had never heard of it.

Xia Jinyuan thought for a while before continuing, ”Even a thousand years after a poplar tree dies, it won’t fall. Even after it falls, it’s around for another thousand years. After decaying, its roots are still firmly rooted in the desert and fixed to a sandpile. Even if its life is gone, it can continue to protect the sandpile until its roots decay and nothing is left.”
