Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Ye Jian didn’t know that Sea Anemone wanted her to join the Storm Commando Brigade. Ye Jian wasn’t willing to put down her work and eat before she finished assembling the heavy machine gun. Hence, she asked Sea Anemone to go back and save some food for her. She would go after she was done.

She was the one who dismantled the heavy machine gun. Since she dismantled it, she had to be responsible.

She was indeed hungry. Just like what Yang Heng said, she was so hungry that she could eat grass.

At this moment, it was already noon in Libya. Li Jinnian brought Commissioner Miao back to the camp. He was driving a truck. For safety reasons, Commissioner Miao didn’t sit in the front passenger seat. Instead, the two water ghosts were in charge of driving. The rest of the people were sitting in the back of the truck.

Yang Heng took the water bottle and finished half of it in one go. There was still one mouthful left. One of the male soldiers who came to bring them back smiled and said, ”You must be very hungry. You don’t have to eat grass when we go back. We have vegetables for you.”

”Cough, cough, cough…”

Yang Heng choked on the water that he didn’t manage to swallow. His face turned red. After coughing for a while, he wiped the water off the corner of his mouth and said awkwardly, ”I was just joking. I was just joking.”

It was just a casual remark. Did everyone know about it now?

Big Prawn, who had spoken, could guess what Yang Heng was thinking when he saw his expression. He smiled brightly and said, ”Previously, there were times when we were hungry enough that we wanted to eat grass too. The grass we picked was quite delicious.”

During training, they ate a lot of grass.

What could Yang Heng say? He could only smile.

Seeing his awkwardness, Big Prawn didn’t continue. The interpreter was shy, and they didn’t have a deep relationship. He had to stop joking.

Yang Heng heaved a sigh of relief when Big Prawn didn’t say anything else. He was a little restrained when he was with the special forces. He wasn’t like Ye Jian, who could get along with them. It was obvious that they were comrades.

Ye Jian… He didn’t know how she was doing.

Yang Heng glanced at the special forces captain who was sitting with Commissioner Miao. He hesitated for a moment before bending over. He placed his hands on the shoulders of the three PhD students and walked over.

The moment he moved, Li Jinnian’s gaze landed on him. Seeing this, he reached out and pulled him.

Yang Heng, who was swaying in the car, immediately clenched his fists tightly and sat down stably.

He asked about Ye Jian.

When Li Jinnian heard him mention Ye Jian’s real name, his gaze was sharp for a few seconds. Yang Heng felt that Li Jinnian’s gaze was like a scalpel that wanted to cut him apart.

Under such a stressful gaze, Yang Heng said in a low voice, ”We used to study in the same senior high. My parents almost acknowledged her as their goddaughter. My parents only gave up because Ye Jian didn’t agree.”

So that was the case.

Although his gaze was still cold, Li Jinnian retracted his sharp gaze and said to Yang Heng, ”She’s fine. She’s in the camp now.”

He paused for a moment and said, ”You can’t mention her name when you go back.”

”It’s good that she’s fine.” Yang Heng heaved a sigh of relief. He finally felt relieved. He nodded slightly. ”I understand. I won’t tell anyone.”

Yang Heng fell asleep listening to the rumbling of the truck.

Outside was Yeni’s most beautiful coastline, the washed sky, and the blue sea. The waves rolled over with white waves. A few birds brushed past the waves and quickly spread their wings and flew high. In the distance, a transport plane gradually flew away.

In the waves, several figures were chasing after three square objects that were floating on the surface of the sea in two directions. They each had something trailing behind them, which was a combat bag.
