Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

”The three of you, lock onto Shooting Point A. Suppress firepower!

”The three of you will lock onto Shooting Point B. The three of you will lock onto Shooting Point C. The three of you will lock onto Shooting Point D. We’ll suppress them with firepower. We won’t allow them to take half a step forward! Press down until their range of activity is limited to Shooting Points A, B, C, D. Do you understand?”

There were a total of 15 people. They were arranged by the platoon leader and placed in the corresponding combat positions. The other three were for support and assault. They had to shoot accurately. Once the enemy went past Shooting Points A and D, they would immediately complete their shooting.

The entire combat formation was a semicircle. The outer line of the semicircle was filled with peacekeeping soldiers. In the semicircle, there were locked illegal militants. In the innermost part of the semicircle, there was Ye Jian, who was behind the illegal militants.

A firepower chain had been pulled up. The Chinese peacekeeping soldiers started their self-defense counter-attack.

The soldiers who came to do peacekeeping had undergone strict training. They were selected before they could become a member of the peacekeeping team. After a strict selection, they could enter the peacekeeping team and be sent overseas.

From soft to hard skills, they were all top-notch in their own class. Their combat ability could withstand tests. Similarly, they had strong resistance to pressure.

Even though this was their first time exchanging fire with illegal militants and their first actual combat, they didn’t hesitate to raise their guns and retaliate.

This was a self-defense counter-attack. They did not want to cause trouble nor get involved, so their actions were completely in self-defense. Hence, even if the United Nations knew about this, they wouldn’t punish or condemn the Chinese peacekeeping soldiers.

As for Ye Jian, she didn’t feel burdened at all. She didn’t feel that it was very dangerous for her to accept the challenge alone.

The other party was a group of illegal militants. From this perspective, she wouldn’t have any psychological burden.

This was a crossfire with an uneven military strength, but China’s strength was far higher than the enemy’s. The stronger Chinese peacekeeping soldiers fought calmly the entire time. The illegal militants who were at a disadvantage were already exasperated.

They thought that they only needed to exchange fire with the Chinese soldiers in front of them, so they were not vigilant against their backs at all. As they were the ones who controlled the route into the town of Covil, they never thought of guarding their backs.

Ye Jian’s shooting caused the illegal militants to panic. Amidst the gunshots, they were so angry that they had no choice but to split their forces to guard their backs.

”Kill them, kill those damned fellows!”

The angry voices from the illegal militants’ camp were already covered by the gunshots. Ye Jian couldn’t hear them, and neither could the peacekeeping soldiers. They could have settled this peacefully, but the enemy chose to start a war.

The entire exchange of fire lasted for about an hour. From the initial dense gunfire to sporadic gunfire, the Chinese firepower continued. The enemy’s firepower had already stopped.

In the end, the entire crossfire point fell silent. The Chinese soldiers stopped shooting. They quietly waited for any movement in front of them.

He Wei wanted to get closer to watch but was pulled back by Squad Leader Feng. ”It won’t take long. Let’s wait a little longer.”

They would wait to see if there was still any movement in front and if there would be cold weapons.

The hardest thing to guard against on the battlefield was cold weapons. A person might think that all the enemies were dead, but in reality, there were still people hiding in the dark and waiting for an opportunity to drag others down with them.

Hence, they didn’t have to rush out immediately. They had to wait quietly for at least five minutes. This was the minimum waiting time.

Ye Jian had the same thought.
