Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

The sun was shining brightly outside, and the warehouse was pitch-black.

The city map was laid out on the ground. Li Jinnian held the flashlight in his hand and slid his slender fingers across the map. His cold voice entered the ears of the team members.

”Our position is here, and the peacekeeping camp is this way. The straight line distance is 16 kilometers, and the detour is 24 kilometers. Now that the peacekeeping camp has entered red alert, there’s a possibility of a battle at any time. I plan to walk in a straight line and pass through this crossfire point at a close distance!”

The importance of the special materials made Li Jinnian realize that he had to race against time. The materials that were less than 50 kilograms were the key to the progress of the entire project. Once the materials were gone, the entire project would stagnate. The consequences of stagnating would be the lagging of the country’s weapons. The consequences would directly affect the strength of the country. Hence, he had to race against time.

The distance of 24 kilometers soon became 16 kilometers. Then, it became eight kilometers. The time they took to traverse also shortened.

Ye Jian’s gaze stopped at the crossfire point. After taking a look, she said to the communication soldier, Big Prawn, ”Show me the satellite map. I think I passed by this place last night.”

Last night, she took a ride over. Hiding in the chassis, she saw a road sign lying on the ground. When the headlights of the car behind swept past, she could vaguely see the street name on the road sign. She needed to confirm it again.

The military laptop showed the satellite map of Yeni. This was the satellite map before the war. After the war, the area was filled with devastation. It was hard to tell where it was.

Big Prawn quickly found the location they would pass through later. Ye Jian leaned closer to take a look. There was a smile in her black eyes that reflected the flames of war.

”We can go over here. It’s very safe.” She placed the laptop in the middle and zoomed in on the exact location of the map. ”Although this street was bombed and it’s very close to the crossfire point, this place…”

Her slender fingers pointed at a pre-war building. ”This place has been directly blown up by artillery shells. We can pass through the entire building. The exchange of fire will be on our left. Using the wall of the building as a cover, we can directly pass through to Saya Street. If the route through the building is destroyed, we can retreat immediately and then…”

Her slender and fair finger pointed at the street not far from the building. ”We can still retreat from here and here. We can also avoid the crossfire and choose many routes.”

”If we pass through Saya Street, we’ll reach the park. Behind the park is the suburbs of Yeni. It’s not far from our camp. More importantly, the illegal militants have surrounded our camp. If necessary, we can kill our way through them and clear a bloody path. We can also get the soldiers in the camp to send the materials out. We can then leave immediately.

”The timing has to be seamless. That way, we can leave after the battle. Of course, if the situation at camp is urgent, we can continue to stay until they retreat.”

Ye Jian was a commander. Her arrangements were based on the big picture. She would take different things into consideration to achieve an all-round combat plan. With a precedent, there would be a process. She would consider the mobilization during the entire process, then consider the results and follow-up.

As she spoke, Li Jinnian looked at the satellite map and combined it with the military map. He went through it in his mind and nodded. ”Okay, we’ll evacuate according to your route.”
