I Became a Witch and Started an Industrial Revolution

Mitia raised a hand clad in a suede glove and tidied the strands of hair scattered by the wind，she did not activate a Magical Shield to resist the forces of nature，the cold helped her maintain a clear mind：

“A World Government could very likely greatly accelerate the development of our ideals，but it could also turn around and completely overturn everything we accomplished before，this is a double-edged sword sharpened on both sides。”

Kate sounded somewhat gloomy：“Maybe they’ll worship you even more，and build statues of you in every corner of the world。”

Mitia nodded and then shook her head：“I’ve actually always held a pessimistic attitude toward Human Nature，but within that pessimism I still retain a tiny trace of hope。I also have to admit，this way of thinking influences my judgment of the future to a certain extent。”

“Actually deep down，I regard Systems and People as things belonging to two different dimensions，the System itself does not possess much inclination，but People do。”

“So no matter how I choose，how I change things，or what kinds of Rules and Regulations I establish，perhaps in the end they will all cause the Alliance to enter a temporary peak where it has no opponents，and its only opponent will be itself。”

“No matter how perfect the structure of a System is，it is nothing more than the difference between water wearing through stone in 100 years or 150 years，as long as those pursuing profit possess perseverance，there is no System they cannot penetrate。”

“The only difference lies with the distributors who control this enormous Means of Production themselves，or rather the different paths distinguished by the ideological inclinations of this group。Three directions will cultivate three kinds of Super Institutions that control enormous Production Distribution Rights，Super Corporations，Superpower Political Parties，and Totalitarian Governments。”

“So the problem itself has no solution，because the Evil Dragon and the Hero are fundamentally one and the same，the only difference is what appearance it chooses to take。”

Mitia looked at the snowflakes falling from the sky，her pupils unfocused as though she were thinking about something：

“From beginning to end there has actually only been one thing I could do well，and that is provide Idealists with soil in which they can exist，as well as soil where more Idealists can emerge、grow and become stronger。”

“Every Idealist is like a paper wall being scorched by flames，although it can resist for a brief moment，the paper wall will eventually turn to ash in the fire，then comes the next paper wall，and the next after that...countless paper walls advancing one after another to block the spread of the Flames of Evil...”

“Either the Flames of Evil ultimately burn down the world，or a method to extinguish them is found before that happens。”

“I’ve already done everything I can do，and I’ve also eliminated the greatest hidden danger，Atomic Energy produces the same Repulsive Reaction toward Divine Power，as long as we locate the Origins of those Gods and construct Nuclear Power Plants above them，They will never be able to awaken...”

Kate suddenly understood：“So that whole act where you dragged them into Self-destruction back then was something you prepared from the beginning？It wasn’t something you thought up on the spot！Damn it！You lied to me！”

Kate puffed up her little face and bared her sharp canine teeth，wanting to take a fierce chomp out of Mitia，but quickly deflated：

“So you brought me along because you’re running away right，you’ve lost confidence，you aren’t sure whether that thing might also be used on you when the time comes，after all this is when you’re at your weakest。”

Mitia tilted her head slightly：“Not exactly，I just feel that whether it’s the Gods or me，we can no longer interfere with this world，the right to choose the path of the future has already been handed over to them，and I’m somewhat unable to sort out my own position。”

“But one thing is very clear，they’ve already grown up，and no longer need Gods to show them the way。”

Drutsk State

Thirty thousand Ernesto Crimson Army soldiers surged like a tide in continuous assaults against the defensive line established here by the Britian Empire，the roar produced by the Machine Gun Positions as they fired could not drown out the earth-shaking battle cries。

From time to time Crimson Army soldiers were struck by the hail of bullets and fell to the ground，or were suppressed inside Shell Craters unable to raise their heads，shell after shell exploded near the Machine Gun Positions，one of them scoring a hit that blasted the Machine Gun into the air。

The soldiers near the position were showered from head to toe by warm matter falling from the sky，spitting out the fragments of flesh that splashed into their mouths，and mechanically repeating the process of loading and firing before their eyes。

Several Vanguard-class Fighters in the air broke through the defenders of the Drutsk State Defensive Line and poured 20㎜ shells into the Trench Zone，while more than ten Defensive Tanks modified from Saint-Chamond Tanks slowly advanced to shield the Crimson Army behind them from stray bullets。

As the distance closed，casualties among the Britian defenders inside the Trenches began increasing sharply，the Tanks’ Cannons and Machine Guns tightly restricted their room to counterattack，while more and more Rifle Bullets shot past around them，occasionally spraying up a splash of blood。

Just as they prepared to make their final desperate resistance inside the Trenches against the Crimson Army troops who had broken in，the Flamethrower Trooper who had been concealed by the squad the entire time stepped out from the formation，raised the nozzle in his hands and sprayed a long dragon of flame into the Trenches。

The soldiers who had not yet had time to react were ignited by the sea of fire enveloping the inside of the Trenches，and miserable screams rang out densely throughout the Trenches，soaring into the sky。

The Trench Line that had originally still possessed the ability to organize resistance instantly collapsed，large numbers of soldiers whose uniforms had caught fire crawled about trying to escape this hell。

Those lucky enough to encounter a kindhearted Crimson Army soldier along the way could even be rewarded with a peanut to free them from their painful lives，while the unlucky ones could only rely on useless rolling to try to extinguish flames that could not be extinguished，tormented by indescribably immense agony until they swallowed their final breath。

The remaining Crimson Army soldiers carrying Rifles and some Assault Rifles continued pursuing the remnants ahead who were retreating while fighting，from time to time routed Britian soldiers were caught，kneeling on the ground and crying incessantly：“Don’t，don’t，don’t shoot！”

And they indeed did not shoot，what awaited him was a Fireball formed from flames。

Paul was positioned along the rear defensive line and luckily escaped disaster，joining the surviving comrades as they withdrew toward the rear Headquarters。

They were originally part of the Joint Army that had attacked Ernesto，from 500000 men when they first set out to integrating the remaining Tsarist forces after entering Xinwapa State，their military strength had once reached a peak of more than 800000。

But beginning with their defeat in the Battle of Como City during the occupation of Xinwapa，they suffered defeat after defeat and were driven back into Britian territory，of the more than 800000 soldiers fewer than 100000 remained today，while instead the Crimson Army that had pursued them the entire way had grown increasingly numerous，now reaching a scale of four to five hundred thousand people，and they had basically all been armed，with everyone carrying a Rifle and a Grenade。

Because uprisings were breaking out everywhere within Britian territory，they also faced the predicament of lacking clothing、food and supplies，there was not even any replacement stock for Machine Gun Barrels，and many firearms could only be discarded once their ammunition ran out。

Britian could not even provide replacements of new soldiers anymore

Sliar and Noront had gathered Ernesto’s main forces，as well as part of the Alliance’s Army Groups，and the battlefield pressure there was much greater than here。

At present rather than saying they were making a final stubborn resistance for the Empire，it would be more accurate to say they had been abandoned here to wait for death。

Inside the dark and damp Cave Barracks，Paul stared blankly toward the entrance of the passage，where the reflected sunlight was the only source of light in this rat hole：

“Back then they said we’d capture Xinwapa in just a few more weeks，what a joke。My brothers，friends，classmates，they’re all dead。”

“Unfortunately I’m not a skilled orator，I’m just a poor man and cannon fodder。”
