It ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍could be said that unless higher-level combat power appeared，ordinary Corpse Beasts would find it very difficult to break through the Oderlinsar Defensive Line。

But ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍this referred to the defensive positions themselves，not the entire border region。

After ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍all in conventional military warfare it was very difficult for the enemy to bypass your defensive positions to strike the rear，they had to worry about whether their logistics would be cut off，and whether their vanguard forces would be trapped inside and destroyed by a pincer attack。

So defensive line construction basically focused on heavily fortified positions where forces were concentrated，and many regions had no garrison forces。

And these regions gave the pervasive Corpse Beasts opportunities to break through the defensive line。

For this reason the Alliance urgently assembled the second-line Garrison Troops of the various states，completed their equipment replacement and had them follow Transport Airships to designated regions to resist，buying time for the establishment of the more rigorous second section of defensive lines in the rear。

This order was not telling them to go out and throw their lives away，specialized portable blast-resistant walls allowed ordinary soldiers to establish small defensive fortifications within an extremely short period of time，allowing them to protect themselves in the short term while inflicting a certain amount of damage on the Corpse Beasts without any problem。

The primary precision elimination missions meanwhile were assigned to the Alliance Second Airborne Division that had been recalled home for rest and reorganization，as well as the various Division-level Special Operations Battalions。

Their objective was very simple，penetrate deep into the actual area to provide valuable precision bombing targets for the aerial formations，not only searching for Corpse Beasts，but also searching for the Allied Nations Army。

Wengita

Urgent high-pitched alarms suddenly sounded above every town and city throughout the state，waking residents who had gradually fallen asleep from their dreams。

Inside the bedroom John jolted awake from the bed，switched on the light and sat up before pulling out the pistol pressed beneath his pillow，the cold hard sensation in his hand instead calmed his somewhat tense and sensitive heart。

“Darling，what’s happening？”

The woman also sat up and rubbed her eyes，their young son in the wooden cradle had been awakened and was now opening his mouth and crying loudly，she hurriedly got out of bed and took him into her arms to gently soothe him。

John was somewhat uncertain：“I’m not sure，but this seems to be...an evacuation alarm？”

‘Could it be a drill？But the radio didn’t say anything...’

John’s wife’s voice suddenly grew quieter as she spoke，the two exchanged a glance，and John immediately made a decisive decision：“No matter what it’s better to be cautious，hurry and pack a few things，I’ll go get the girls！”

John rushed out of the master bedroom and entered his daughters’ bedroom，the two 13-4 year old girls were already awake and sitting dazedly on the bed。

“Father...”

“Daddy is a big meanie，coming in without knocking...”

He reached out and rubbed his younger daughter’s fluffy messy hair before scooping her up：“Don’t be angry yet，hurry and get dressed，Daddy will apologize to you on the way，Lucy you too。”

After pulling his two daughters along and getting them presentable as quickly as possible he finally had time to wash his face in the bathroom，looking at his bearded face covered in water droplets he could not help but smile。

【Beep！A large-scale plague infection has broken out in Putum and Seod within the Kingdom of Cabansia，to ensure the safety of the lives and health of Alliance Citizens，all residents throughout Wengita State will undergo evacuation and relocation，citizens please bring high-value valuables and patiently wait outside your homes to board official vehicles in an orderly manner。】

【To ensure unobstructed roads and the principle of high-efficiency operation，wartime current management measures are now activated，all vehicles without Alliance Government license plates are prohibited from entering the streets，no one may disrupt order without cause，no one may violate any Alliance law。】

【Violators will be punished with the utmost severity，the minimum punishment is 5 weeks of imprisonment，the maximum is immediate execution。The Alliance will ensure the safety of citizens’ lives to the greatest possible extent，everyone please wait patiently。】

This message was continuously repeated through the Amplifiers and radio stations established throughout the streets。

When John brought his wife、children and entire family to the entrance of their small manor，the street outside was already filled with neighbors。

The Alliance’s housing infrastructure construction was basically monopolized by state-owned enterprises，the overwhelming majority of buildings were identical，the prices were attractive and the living space was not bad，and because they were constructed by the same enterprise，the supporting facilities were extremely comprehensive。

Markets，commercial streets and bus stops and so on were all constructed around residential areas。

Of course，if you wanted to display how different you were，there were also houses in special districts，but larger areas and better locations adopted punitive tiered price increases，and that price might be beyond what you could afford。

Because land approval authority was controlled by the Federal Central Bank，ordinary affordable residential districts had predetermined specification standards，each household could only receive approval for one residence，local states could independently determine construction areas，they only needed to submit planning charts。

But anything exceeding the specification standards would instead be converted into commercial economic land，decoupled from the Alliance’s basic welfare subsidy policies，using floating commercial land prices，with a Federal Central Bank supervisory team conducting on-site calculations according to the state’s economic performance and the land’s location to establish a minimum price。

And the approval quota for commercial real estate land in each state was limited，while the purchaser’s asset documentation would also be reviewed，so as the only commercial real estate that could be freely circulated and traded，its price would usually surge by more than 50 times above the already expensive minimum price，with no upper limit。

There were high property taxes to pay，the costs of daily necessities would also increase substantially in tandem，without any reductions or exemptions，what you received in exchange was a larger house and higher social status。

In other words，the cost of appearing different within the Alliance was extraordinarily high，and there was basically no opportunity to snag a bargain，most people would not allow you to snag one either。

Commercial real estate development was equivalent to giving local authorities a huge moneybag for improving living standards，each term only had one or two approval quotas，usually related to how long the current administration could remain in office，one five-year term meant one，two terms meant two，once used there were no more。

If they saved you money then their entire administration would lose a large sum，if they wanted to launch some new project but had no money they could only stare helplessly，and the public welfare of the current administration would also be reduced。

And the area where John lived was precisely like this，housing prices were extremely expensive，the people living here were naturally either rich or powerful，and generally spoke with more confidence，at this moment they had gathered together and were loudly complaining。

After all others might not be able to say the same but their households definitely had several cars each，when fleeing they could certainly move faster than ordinary people no matter what，and by prohibiting civilian vehicles from traveling was the government not putting them back on the same starting line？

Then what the hell did I earn all this money for？Someone who refused to accept it got hotheaded and called his entire family into the car，started the vehicle，and intended to simply drive away。

But they quickly behaved themselves，a Sherman converted Engineering Tank creaked into the commercial residential district，when it encountered the car blocking the road it did not stop and directly pushed both the car and the people inside forward for a distance，while the female announcer’s gentle voice continued coming from the Amplifier on top。

The family being rammed by the Tank screamed and wailed like ghosts inside the car，fortunately the military did not go all the way，they kicked open the car doors and hauled out the family who had pissed their pants before tossing them into the police vehicle behind，as for the small car blocking the road it was crushed flat and pushed to the roadside，leaving the surrounding wealthy people dumbfounded。

“Th...is there no fucking law anymore？！！！”

Someone in the crowd suddenly shouted this，a soldier advancing alongside the Tank turned his head and glanced at the crowd before coldly saying：“Her Majesty the Empress once said，only those who obey Alliance law are Alliance Citizens！”
