Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Su Hanhan Is No Longer Silly? Gu Yifan: She’s Harder to Fool Now

A reply from Su Qinghe came through quickly.

Su Hanhan: ”I’m at our school, Exam Hall 3. What about you?”

Gu Yifan paused for a moment after reading the message.

A faint smile touched his lips as he typed his reply: ”What a coincidence. I’m at our school too, Exam Hall 3!”

Just as his chat with Su Qinghe was getting lively, their homeroom teacher, Ye Xiangying, finished announcing all the important reminders from the lectern.

”Alright, that’s everything you need to pay attention to!”

”Don’t get too nervous when you go home. Rest well and get ready for the college entrance exams tomorrow!”

”Um... I’d like to be the first to wish you all a resounding success. I hope you all get the results you’re hoping for!”

”Finally, this marks the end of the last high school class for Senior Class One!”

”Class dismissed!”

As Ye Xiangying dismissed the class, everyone stood up and shouted in unison, ”Goodbye, Teacher~”

”Alright. Goodbye, students!”

...

Amidst the chorus of goodbyes, their high school careers officially came to an end.

「At the entrance to the girls’ dormitory.」

”Hanhan, is this everything? You didn’t leave anything behind?”

Gu Yifan asked as he helped Su Qinghe load her things into the car, handing her a tissue to wipe away her sweat.

”Mm-hmm~”

”This is all of it. I usually go home on the weekends, so I don’t keep much in my dorm room.”

Su Qinghe took the tissue, dabbed the sweat from her temples, and nodded.

”Alright then, hop in!”

”Let’s go home!”

Gu Yifan said with a nod.

”Okay!”

Su Qinghe beamed and gave a firm nod.

Since Gu Yifan was driving his dad’s beat-up old car today, he didn’t attract much attention.

He’d had to plead and bargain, even using Su Qinghe as an excuse, before ”Empress Dowager Chen” finally agreed to let him drive his dad’s old junker to school.

That’s right.

To avoid unnecessary trouble, Gu Yifan still hadn’t dared to tell his family he owned a G-Wagon.

Once they were both in the car, Gu Yifan habitually helped Su Qinghe buckle her con... Pfft, her seatbelt, then started the engine and drove off.

Since they were still on campus, where someone could dart out from anywhere at any moment, Gu Yifan drove very slowly.

After leaving the school grounds, Gu Yifan headed straight for Xingfu District, where Su Qinghe lived.

The plan was to drop off Su Qinghe’s things from the dorm at her place first, then head over to Gu Yifan’s house.

Noticing that Su Qinghe looked hot, Gu Yifan turned the car’s AC down a little lower.

”WHOOSH... WHOOSH...”

The air conditioner was loud, but despite the car being a junker, the AC was no joke.

It didn’t take long for the car to cool down.

”Hanhan, the exams are tomorrow. Are you nervous?”

Gu Yifan asked casually.

”Huh?”

Gu Yifan’s sudden question made Su Qinghe pause.

She tilted her head, thought about it seriously, then turned to Gu Yifan and said softly, ”I’m... I’m okay.”

”Mm... as long as you’re okay!”

”There’s really nothing to be nervous about. The college entrance exams are just like our usual practice tests!”

Gu Yifan said with a nod, a nonchalant look on his face.

Suddenly, he remembered something. He turned to Su Qinghe with a teasing glint in his eye and said, ”Oh, right, Hanhan. For these exams, how about we make another bet on who gets the higher score?”

WHOOSH!

Su Qinghe was instantly reminded of the time this guy had tricked her into wearing black stockings, and her face turned bright red.

”N-No, thank you.”

She said, pouting slightly.

’To be honest, the first time she lost to Gu Yifan on the city-wide practice exam, Su Qinghe hadn’t been willing to accept it!’

But!

After Gu Yifan proceeded to overwhelm her in the next two city-wide practice exams with perfect scores in every single subject, she finally had to admit defeat.

Truly and utterly defeated.

’Three consecutive perfect scores across all subjects!’

’Not everyone could be a monster like Gu Yifan!’

’She was even starting to suspect that he’d been hiding his true abilities all along, deliberately letting her tutor him!’

’But then again, the way he had so earnestly asked her about those math problems at the beginning didn’t seem like an act!’

’So, she could only chalk it up to Gu Yifan’s IQ being simply monstrous!’

That was why now, hearing Gu Yifan try to trick her into another bet, Su Qinghe didn’t even want to engage with him.

’I’m not an idiot!’

’I’m not really a Hanhan!’

Hmph!

Seeing Su Qinghe ignore him, Gu Yifan suddenly felt things were less interesting.

’I should have gone easy on her before,’ he thought to himself. ’Now she’s scared of me, and she’s not as fun to tease anymore!’

”Huh?”

Su Qinghe let out a small cry of surprise.

”What is it?”

Gu Yifan glanced over at her and asked casually.

”I think I just saw Wang Zibo.”

”Wasn’t that him pushing that scooter?”

Su Qinghe said, sounding uncertain.

Gu Yifan looked in the direction she was pointing and saw that the person pushing a scooter in the bike lane across the street was, in fact, Wang Zibo.

”Yeah, that’s him.”

”Looks like his ride broke down or something. Let’s go ask.”

Gu Yifan said with a nod.

With that, he made a U-turn at the intersection and drove over toward Wang Zibo.

Indeed.

Just as Gu Yifan had guessed, Wang Zibo’s electric scooter had broken down.

In June, the midday sun was already scorching hot.

The blazing sun beat down on his cheeks, making his skin burn.

”This piece of junk! It could’ve broken down any other time, but it had to be now! I’m so pissed!”

Wang Zibo grumbled and cursed as he struggled to push the heavy scooter forward.

Anyone who’s ever had to push an electric scooter with a dead battery knows how damn tiring it is.

”I’d kill for an ice-cold Coke right now!” he lamented.

”HONK HONK— HONK HONK HONK—”

Just then, a car horn blared behind him.

It made him jump!

He was already incredibly irritated and was about to let fly a string of curses when he saw the car pull up slowly beside him.

Just as he was wondering what was going on, the window rolled down to reveal Gu Yifan’s handsome face, looking at him with a teasing smirk.

”Gah...”

”Brother Fan, what are you doing here?”

Wang Zibo said in surprise.

”Zibo, you dumbass,” Gu Yifan said coolly. ”What happened? Battery die or just break down?”

”It broke!”

Wang Zibo said with a miserable look on his face. ”Son of a bitch, it just broke all of a sudden. I almost wiped out!”

Gu Yifan found Wang Zibo’s predicament rather amusing.

’This damn dumbass,’ Gu Yifan thought. ’His luck is something else.’

”Oh. And then?”

”Are you planning to push it all the way home? The sun’s this strong, it’ll take you at least an hour!”

Gu Yifan asked.

”Sigh~”

”I don’t want to, but what can I do? If I wasn’t afraid of my mom beating me up, I’d just ditch this piece of junk right here!”

Wang Zibo said with a look of resignation.

Hearing this, Gu Yifan shook his head helplessly. ”Alright, look, there’s a repair shop up ahead. Push it over there and have them take a look. If they can’t fix it right away, just leave it there and I’ll give you a ride home.”

”Oh!”

Wang Zibo’s eyes lit up when he heard Gu Yifan’s suggestion.

”That’s right!”

”Why didn’t I think of that?”

he exclaimed, slapping his thigh in a moment of happy realization.

Gu Yifan: ”...”

’It’s hopeless!’

’With an IQ like that, even if he gets into college, he’ll just be a walking, talking shit-producing machine with a degree!’

...
