Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 64: Chapter 63: Su Hanhan, You Wouldn’t Want... This, Would You?

’No!’

’When did I ever agree to wear black stockings for him???

Su Qinghe stared at Gu Yifan, completely bewildered.

”Hey, what’s with that look?”

”Wait, Su Hanhan, don’t tell me you’re a sore loser and want to back out, are you?

”I’m telling you, we already pinky swore on it!”

”You wouldn’t want anyone to know... Bah! Anyway, it’s useless to try and back out!”

Gu Yifan said hurriedly upon seeing her expression.

Su Qinghe: ”...”

Hearing Gu Yifan’s words, she was momentarily at a loss for what to say.

But the thought of having to wear black stockings in front of Gu Yifan made her blush uncontrollably.

’This guy never said it was black stockings I’d have to wear!’

Boohoo...

Realizing she’d been tricked by Gu Yifan, Su Qinghe felt both helpless and shy.

Still, it was a good thing her test score would probably be higher than his. Otherwise, she really wouldn’t know what to do.

”Hey, you’re not really thinking of backing out, are you?”

”Su Hanhan, I’ve always believed you’re not the type to go back on your word. You wouldn’t let me down, would you?”

Seeing Su Qinghe remain silent, Gu Yifan spoke again.

”N-No...”

Su Qinghe mumbled, her face flushed red.

”OK, as long as you’re not!”

”Just you wait, you’ll be wearing those black stockings!”

Gu Yifan nodded, his expression full of confidence.

Seeing him so confident, Su Qinghe couldn’t help but sneak a glance at him, a flicker of doubt in her heart.

Still, she believed her score would be higher than Gu Yifan’s.

The reason was simple.

For nearly three years, her title as the top student in their grade had been untouchable.

Even though Gu Yifan’s grades seemed to have improved by leaps and bounds recently, she still didn’t think his score could surpass hers.

This must be the confidence of a top student!

However, this time, she had miscalculated.

...

「April 12th, 2013. 5:30 PM.」

”RING RING—RING RING—”

”The exam period has ended. All candidates, please put down your pens and stop writing immediately. Place your answer sheet, test paper, and scratch paper on your desk in that order, from top to bottom.”

With the ringing of the bell and the broadcast announcement, the third-year high school students’ two-day, city-wide mock exam came to an end.

Gu Yifan was already waiting outside Su Qinghe’s exam room.

That’s right!

As usual, he had turned in his test early.

It couldn’t be helped!

He would have loved to keep a low profile, but his abilities simply wouldn’t allow it.

He finished every single subject in under an hour. You couldn’t expect him to just sit in the classroom and wait, could you?

That would be so boring!

...

As the exam ended, crowds of students poured out of the exam rooms. Many walked with arms slung over each other’s shoulders, chattering away as they compared answers. Some were excited, others couldn’t seem to give a damn, but Su Qinghe appeared perfectly calm.

”Hanhan, over here!”

Gu Yifan spotted Su Qinghe in the crowd and waved, calling out to her.

The moment she saw Gu Yifan, a small smile couldn’t help but grace Su Qinghe’s face, and she quickly jogged in his direction.

”Holy shit!”

”Did I see that right?”

”Just now, did Goddess Su smile at me?”

...

The boys, who had almost never seen her smile, were all momentarily stunned.

They had never imagined that such a brilliant, sweet smile would one day appear on Su Qinghe’s face.

Unfortunately for them!

Su Qinghe’s smile wasn’t directed at them.

As everyone watched,

They saw Su Qinghe jog to Gu Yifan’s side. He gave her a small smile, and then the two of them squeezed through the crowd and quickly disappeared from sight.

Everyone: ”...”

And the boy who had just claimed Su Qinghe smiled at him was now beet red with embarrassment—a total social suicide! He desperately wished a hole would open up in the ground for him to crawl into.

”Hanhan~”

On the roadside by the school gate, Gu Yifan suddenly turned his head and said to Su Qinghe.

”Hm?”

Su Qinghe turned to look at Gu Yifan.

”We have make-up classes tomorrow, Saturday. Do you still have to go to your part-time job on Sunday afternoon?”

Gu Yifan asked.

”Mm... I already told Grandma Li I’d go.”

Su Qinghe replied softly, ”But Grandma Li knows the college entrance exams are coming up, so she told me I can take a break after this Sunday. She said once the exams are over, I can come back whenever I want.”

”Ohh~”

Gu Yifan nodded. He thought for a moment, then said, ”Hmm... How about this: I’ll go with you on Sunday and help you sell steamed buns.”

”Huh?”

Su Qinghe was taken aback. She didn’t know why Gu Yifan suddenly wanted to go with her to sell steamed buns.

”N-No, you don’t have to. It’s very tiring.”

she said softly after a moment’s thought.

”Tiring?”

”If you can do it, why can’t I?”

”Su Hanhan, it sounds like you’re looking down on me a little!”

Gu Yifan shot her a look and said nonchalantly.

”I... That’s not what I meant.”

Su Qinghe hurriedly explained.

”Alright, it’s settled then!”

”I’m just going to help, not for pay. I don’t think Grandma Li will refuse me, right?”

Gu Yifan said with a wave of his hand.

The Grandma Li they were talking about was the owner of the steamed bun shop where Su Qinghe worked part-time.

Gu Yifan had met her before when he went to find Su Qinghe at work.

She was an elderly woman, around sixty-five years old, and very kind and benevolent.

At the time, knowing Gu Yifan was there to see Su Qinghe, she had kept insisting he eat some buns, bringing over all the different flavors in the shop for him to try.

Since Gu Yifan had put it that way, Su Qinghe just pouted and didn’t say anything more.

Because she knew it was useless to say anything else.

Sigh~

’This guy is so domineering.’

After knowing him for so long, she understood clearly that while Gu Yifan was usually easygoing, once he made a decision, nobody could change his mind.

”Alright, stop pouting. You could hang an oil lamp from that lip!”

Gu Yifan reached out and ruffled Su Qinghe’s hair, speaking in a slightly exasperated tone.

”I... I’m not.”

Su Qinghe’s face reddened slightly as she stubbornly mumbled.

”Fine, fine!”

”If you say you’re not, then you’re not!”

Gu Yifan said, shaking his head.

Just then, their taxi arrived. He turned his head to Su Qinghe and said, ”The car’s here, let’s go!”

He then opened the taxi door and let Su Qinghe get in first.

Su Qinghe didn’t say any more and obediently sat down in the back seat.

”Cuihu District, please, Driver.”

”You got it~”

The driver replied, started the car, and stepped on the gas. The car shot out into the middle of the road like an arrow.

Honestly, you really need a strong heart to ride in one of these Mountain City taxis!

Fortunately, both Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe were used to it.
