Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 85: Chapter 85: Su Qinghe’s First Time in Black Stockings

「Twenty minutes later.」

By now, the dishes on the table had been completely cleared.

”Haaaah...”

Gu Yifan let out a long, satisfied sigh.

’To be honest, that Hanhan Su Qinghe’s cooking is seriously good!’

Su Qinghe had a small appetite and didn’t eat much, so most of the food had ended up in Gu Yifan’s stomach.

And seeing Gu Yifan eat with such relish, Su Qinghe was also very happy.

She then got up, gathered the dishes, and took them into the kitchen to wash. As for Gu Yifan, he plopped onto the sofa like a king, pulled a cigarette from his pocket, and contentedly lit it, starting to puff out clouds of smoke.

When Su Qinghe came out after washing the dishes, she saw Gu Yifan smoking and froze for a moment. Her brows furrowed slightly, but she didn’t say anything.

She silently turned and went back to the kitchen, returning a moment later with a pot of freshly boiled water to make a cup of honey citron tea for Gu Yifan.

”Have some honey citron tea.”

”The weather is dry. If you smoke too much, your throat will get sore.”

Su Qinghe said softly.

”Uh...”

Gu Yifan was taken aback for a moment, then took the hot tea and said, ”Okay, thanks.”

But when he saw her mouth slightly agape, looking like she wanted to say something but was holding back, Gu Yifan frowned and asked, ”You... have something you want to say to me?”

Su Qinghe paused, wondering to herself, ’How did he know?’

”Mhm.”

But seeing Gu Yifan staring at her, she had no choice but to nod obediently.

”Seriously!”

”If you have something to say, just say it!”

”Stop hemming and hawing like a little girl!”

Gu Yifan said, half-exasperated and half-amused.

Su Qinghe: ”...”

She was a bit dumbfounded, looking at Gu Yifan with a blank expression.

”Oh, sorry. I’m used to cussing out Wang Zibo. I almost forgot you actually are a girl!”

Su Qinghe: ”...-_-||”

”Oh, come on, don’t get hung up on the details!”

”Just say whatever’s on your mind. It’s not like I’m going to eat you!”

Gu Yifan waved his hand, changing the subject.

Seeing him change the subject, Su Qinghe pouted a little but didn’t press the issue.

After a moment of hesitation, she finally said, ”Smoking is bad for you. Could you maybe smoke a little less?”

”Hm?”

Gu Yifan’s eyes widened. He hadn’t expected this to be what Su Qinghe wanted to talk about.

’Good thing she didn’t just tell me to quit outright. Otherwise, I really wouldn’t have known whether to agree or not.’

’After all, it’s a habit I’ve had for two lifetimes. There’s no way I could just quit on the spot!’

’But seriously!’

’Even though everyone knows cigarettes are bad for you, sometimes, for a man, they’re actually a good thing!’

’It’s simple!’

’Cigarettes only hurt your lungs, not your heart!’

Gu Yifan vaguely remembered that in his previous life, the first time he’d ever started smoking was seemingly after he confessed to Han Ning and was rejected.

Just like being a ”simp,” it slowly became a habit. He couldn’t go a single day without a cigarette.

For a moment, Gu Yifan was once again lost in those painful memories of being a simp...

Meanwhile, Su Qinghe saw that Gu Yifan had gone silent after she spoke.

She thought he was angry and quickly said in a small, weak voice, ”D-Don’t be mad. I just read in a book that smoking is really bad for your health. Smoking one cigarette shortens your life by about five minutes on average...”

But before she could finish, she heard Gu Yifan say, ”Okay!”

”Huh?”

Su Qinghe didn’t quite process it, looking at Gu Yifan with a blank expression.

”I promise you, I’ll try my best to smoke less from now on.”

Gu Yifan reached out and ruffled her hair, his tone gentle.

”Oh, oh...”

Su Qinghe was still a little dazed, and she nodded subconsciously.

...

As the saying goes: a full belly leads to lustful thoughts.

Gu Yifan suddenly remembered the matter of making Su Qinghe wear black stockings. He looked at her and said coolly, ”By the way, Hanhan, do you still remember our bet?”

Hearing Gu Yifan’s question, Su Qinghe finally snapped back to her senses.

The moment she remembered how she had once been so sure that Gu Yifan’s grades couldn’t possibly surpass hers, Su Qinghe couldn’t help but blush.

”I... I remember.”

She nodded honestly.

”Mm... as long as you remember.”

”Then it’s time for you to fulfill your promise!”

The corners of Gu Yifan’s mouth slowly curled up into a crooked smile.

”???”

Seeing that smile on Gu Yifan’s lips, Su Qinghe was suddenly filled with a bad feeling.

Just as her imagination was running wild, she saw Gu Yifan pull an exquisite gift box from his schoolbag and hand it to her.

She subconsciously reached out and took it.

”Go on, open it and see for yourself.”

Gu Yifan took a light sip of the honey citron tea from the table and said coolly.

”Oh, okay.”

Su Qinghe obediently untied the ribbon on the box.

The next second, a pair of black thigh-high stockings appeared before her eyes.

”This is...”

Her eyes instantly widened. She jerked her head up to look at Gu Yifan, her gaze filled with shock as she stammered, ”S-Stockings???”

”That’s right! Stockings!”

Gu Yifan nodded coolly.

”But...”

”D-Didn’t you say it was clothes?”

”How could it be this?”

By now, Su Qinghe’s face was completely red as she spoke in a weak voice.

”It is!”

”Black stockings are clothes, aren’t they?”

”Nothing wrong with that logic!”

Gu Yifan spouted nonsense with a perfectly straight face.

Su Qinghe: ”...”

’Stockings are clothes... I guess that’s true...’

’He makes so much sense, I can’t even argue back!’

’But I’ve never worn anything like this before!’

’Su Qinghe was on the verge of tears!’

She truly never imagined that Gu Yifan would want her to wear... black stockings!

Seeing Su Qinghe’s miserable expression, Gu Yifan said coolly, ”Hey, Hanhan, you’re not going to be a sore loser and back out, are you?”

Su Qinghe: ”...-_-||”

”N-No.”

She bit her lower lip lightly and said in a small voice.

”Good, as long as you’re not!”

”Now hurry up and go change into them!”

Gu Yifan said, raising one of his sharp, dashing eyebrows.

Inwardly, Su Qinghe wanted to refuse, but she was afraid that Gu Yifan would get angry if she went back on her word.

So, she had no choice but to accept. In a voice as faint as a mosquito’s buzz, she said to Gu Yifan, ”I smell like cooking fumes. I’m going to take a shower first, then I’ll put them on...”

Without waiting for Gu Yifan to react, she hugged the box of black stockings and ran...

That’s right!

You read that correctly!

She ran!

Watching her back as she fled in a panic, Gu Yifan was a little dumbfounded.

’Wait!’

’What the hell is going on?’

’Is this Hanhan really trying to back out of the bet?’

.....

「Half an hour later.」

When Su Qinghe walked out of the bathroom, Gu Yifan practically had a nosebleed on the spot!
