Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 68: Chapter 68: Su Qinghe: You... You’re Poking Me

At that moment, Su Qinghe didn’t dare to move.

And Gu Yifan didn’t dare to move either, continuing to silently chant his mantra.

He had no choice!

When you’re the one holding a loaded gun against someone, the slightest wrong move could cause it to go off!

...

After a little while longer,

Slowly, their emotions began to settle. Still, neither of them moved. An unspoken understanding passed between them, and they remained silent, simply holding each other and enjoying the warm, beautiful moment.

The moon was full tonight.

The watery, white moonlight melded Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe’s shadows into one, reflecting them on the water’s surface—a gentle, tranquil scene...

In that instant, it was as if the entire world had stood still.

But the occasional sound of fish splashing in the pond, sending ripples across the water, served as a constant reminder that reality, in the end, was still reality.

Suddenly.

A burst of laughter and chatter came from the small path beside the lotus pond.

Su Qinghe’s heart leaped in alarm, and she quickly struggled out of Gu Yifan’s arms.

A blush still lingered on her small face. Compared to her earlier gentle demeanor, she now possessed an added, bewitching beauty.

A moment later, a few girls walked past the lotus pond, laughing. They were likely good friends returning from a late-night snack run, having gotten hungry in the middle of the night.

The group of girls noticed the two of them, but the path lights were too dim to make out their faces.

”Ah~!!”

”It’s a ghost!!!”

Startled by the sudden appearance of two figures, the girls let out a terrified shriek, then scrambled frantically toward the girls’ dormitory, practically tumbling over themselves as they vanished inside.

Gu Yifan: ”...”

Su Qinghe: ”...”

The two looked at each other. Suddenly, the atmosphere became a little awkward.

”Um... I... I should get back to my dorm too.”

The interruption made it impossible for Su Qinghe to stay. She spoke, her little face still flushed.

”Okay!”

Gu Yifan touched the tip of his nose and nodded.

Then, after a moment’s thought, he added, ”Um... get some rest soon. I’ll come by tomorrow morning, and we can have breakfast together.”

”Mhm~”

Su Qinghe didn’t say anything more. She just nodded, then turned and walked toward the entrance of the girls’ dormitory.

Gu Yifan stood where he was, watching her silently until her figure disappeared around the corner of the dormitory entrance. Only then did he look away.

”That Hanhan~”

’Mm... and pretty soft!’

The corners of his mouth turned up in a slight smile as he muttered to himself.

He then shook his head lightly, patted his pocket, and pulled out a cigarette, which he stuck in his mouth and lit.

”Oh~ I’m afraid that I might fall for you, so I daren’t let myself get too close...”

Pleased with himself, he started humming the tune and turned to walk toward the school’s back gate.

The very moment he turned, on a third-floor balcony of the girls’ dormitory, a delicate and stunningly beautiful face was staring dazedly in the direction of his departure.

...

The reason Gu Yifan didn’t use the front gate, choosing the back gate instead, was to avoid trouble. When he’d come in earlier, he had told the security guard he was a boarding student.

Trying to get out now would probably be difficult.

However!

What Gu Yifan never expected was that when he reached the back gate, he found the man sitting in the security booth was the very same guard from the front gate!

”Er...”

At the school’s back gate, Gu Yifan and the security guard stared at each other, wide-eyed.

”It’s so late. What are you trying to pull now, kid?”

The security guard frowned and was the first to speak.

Gu Yifan felt awkward. His eyes darted around before he spoke. ”Well... Uncle Liu, listen to my crafty explanation... Bah! No, I mean, listen to my explanation. It’s like this... I don’t know if I ate something bad tonight, but my stomach suddenly started hurting really badly. I need to go out and buy some medicine.”

After listening to Gu Yifan’s excu—... explanation, Uncle Liu’s brows knitted together. He gave him a suspicious look up and down and said flatly, ”You’d better be telling the truth, kid!”

”COUGH, COUGH~”

Gu Yifan almost choked. He quickly said, ”Uncle, it’s true! The honest-to-god truth!”

”Is that so?”

”I think you’re just a little rascal!”

Uncle Liu shot him a look of disdain.

Gu Yifan: ”...”

’He really wanted to say, You’re a great judge of character, Uncle!’

’But if he said that, he really would be spending the night wandering the campus and feeding the mosquitoes!’

”Uh...”

”It’s true, Uncle!”

”How about this? If you don’t believe me, I can call my homeroom teacher and have him talk to you!”

Gu Yifan thought for a moment, then spouted this nonsense with a perfectly straight face.

Seeing his confident expression, Uncle Liu frowned, half-convinced. ”Fine, there’s no need to call your teacher this late. Hurry up, buy your medicine, and get right back!”

Hearing this, Gu Yifan’s eyes lit up.

”Hold on!”

Just as he was secretly celebrating, thinking he had bluffed his way through and was about to make his escape, Uncle Liu suddenly called out to him.

”Uh...”

Gu Yifan’s steps faltered. He turned back, looking at the guard awkwardly. ”What is it, Uncle?”

”Sign the register, then you can go!”

”If anything happens, I need to be able to find you!”

Uncle Liu took a logbook from the desk by the window and handed it to him, speaking flatly.

”Alright!”

Without hesitation, Gu Yifan took the logbook the guard handed him and wrote in large characters: ”Sophomore Class 6, Wang Zibo”!

”Alright, go on!”

”Hurry back!”

After he finished writing, the guard took the logbook, glanced at it, and then waved him through.

”You got it~”

Gu Yifan secretly breathed a sigh of relief, then bolted. In an instant, he was gone!

Yes!

That’s right!

He ran!

Uncle Liu stared at Gu Yifan’s rapidly retreating figure, utterly dumbfounded for a moment.

What the hell? How did that look like someone with a painful stomach ache?

”Damn it!”

”I was careless!”

”That little bastard tricked me!”

”He’s definitely another one of those kids who sneak out in the middle of the night to go to an internet cafe!”

”Sophomore Class 6, Wang Zibo, is it?”

”This old man has got your number now!”

Uncle Liu stared at the logbook in his hand, gritting his teeth.

He turned, went back into the security booth, and started flipping through the school’s teacher directory, planning to contact the homeroom teacher of Sophomore Class 6 tomorrow and teach this ”Wang Zibo” a lesson.

...

”ACHOO~”

”Achoo, achoo...”

Meanwhile, far away in his room in Cuihu District, Wang Zibo, who was happily gaming, suddenly let out a series of sneezes.

”The hell?”

’Did I catch a cold?’

’Have I gotten this weak?’

’No, that can’t be it!’

’I’ve even been fapping less lately!’

He pulled a tissue from the desk, blew his nose, and tossed it into the trash can, muttering to himself.

...
