Chapter 94: Chapter 94 Usury

”Let’s go, take me to them,” Ye Xiu said, his face grim.

Huang Quan’s promise was worth its weight in gold; his word was his bond. Having agreed to look after the Mu Family for the Blood Demon, he couldn’t let Murong suffer this beating for nothing.

”But you have class soon,” Murong said.

”We’ll be back quickly. It won’t take much time.”

Ye Xiu raised his hand and waved, and immediately, an SUV parked not far away drove over.

”What’s the name of that loan shark company?” Ye Xiu asked after getting in the car.

”Wanda Investment Guarantee Company,” Murong replied.

Ye Xiu nodded and said to the driver, ”You heard that. Get us there as fast as you can.”

”Understood!” The driver immediately brought up the navigation, and the car shot off as if it had gone mad.

The astonishing force pinning her to her seat and the sense of weightlessness made Murong’s head spin for a moment. By the time she had regained her composure, she realized the SUV’s speed was terrifying. What’s more, it didn’t even stop for red lights.

Murong wasn’t stupid. Taxis and ride-hailing cars would never speed and ignore traffic rules like this. Obviously, this driver was one of Ye Xiu’s subordinates, assigned to protect him in secret. No wonder the SUV came over the moment Ye Xiu gestured. Heh! A person who takes a taxi to and from work every day has underlings secretly protecting him? Is that being low-key or just showing off?

「Fifteen minutes later.」

The SUV arrived at Wanda Investment Guarantee Company. It was just a small storefront.

Inside, three young men, dressed deceptively like white-collar professionals, were chatting.

”Brother Fei, that Murong chick said she’d repay the money today, but I doubt she can manage it,” said a burly young man wearing black-rimmed glasses without any lenses.

”You’ve got some nerve saying that,” the young man known as Brother Fei scolded. ”I tampered with the contract because I thought Murong was pretty. I planned to have her pay with her body if she couldn’t come up with the money, but you and Xiao Kang just had to go and beat her up.”

Xiao Kang said meekly, ”Murong definitely can’t repay the debt today. I’ll have a good talk with her later and get her to spend a few days with Brother Meng to settle it.”

”She took out a high-interest loan for 5,000 yuan; there’s no way she can repay 50,000. Don’t worry, Brother Fei. Xiao Kang and I will definitely handle this properly,” the burly young man declared.

”If you screw this up again, don’t even think about following me anymore,” Brother Fei warned sternly. He then took out his phone to call Brother Meng. ”Brother Meng, it’s me, Xiao Fei. I’ve found a new girl, her face is so innocent... You’re interested? Great, I’ll bring her over tonight. And about that construction site job... Brother Meng, you promise? Excellent! Rest assured, I’ll definitely deliver her to you tonight...”

After hanging up, Brother Fei turned to Xiao Kang and the burly young man with a smile and said, ”Alright, Brother Meng agreed to give me the cement and sand supply contract for the construction site. The condition is that we send Murong over tonight.”

”Don’t worry, Brother Fei, that Murong chick is easy to fool. You can relax,” Xiao Kang said, thumping his chest in assurance.

Brother Fei nodded. When Murong first came to take out the loan, he had seen right away that she was a naive and clueless girl who hadn’t seen much of the world.

SCREECH!

Just then, Ye Xiu and Murong walked in, their faces like ice.

They had heard the entire conversation between Brother Fei and his lackeys. Murong was so angry her face turned pale, as if she were having an attack from her Yin Poison Body.

Ye Xiu wore a mask, so his expression was hidden, but the Killing Intent in his eyes was like a raging tsunami about to erupt.

”Murong?” Brother Fei’s trio was taken aback to see her.

”What are you doing here?” Xiao Kang asked.

”I’m here to repay the loan,” Murong said, suppressing her rage.

Hearing the word ”repay,” the three of them froze for a second before panic set in.

Brother Fei had just called Brother Meng. If Murong paid back the money, what would he have to offer him? If he couldn’t deliver Murong, he would be double-crossing Brother Meng. When Brother Meng got angry...

”Not bad, not bad. You’ve raised the money so quickly. Cash or transfer?” Brother Fei asked, his face still fixed in a smile despite the panic churning inside him.

”Transfer!” Ye Xiu said, taking out his phone. ”It’s 50,000, right?”

”50,000? That was yesterday.” Brother Fei leaned back in the chair behind his desk, crossed his legs on top of it, and lit a cigarette. He said with a smirk, ”This is a legitimate lending company. We do everything according to the contract. It’s written in black and white: a loan of 5,000, with a repayment of 50,000 upon the due date. If the repayment is overdue, interest accrues at a rate of 200% per day. That comes to 100,000.”

”This is robbery!” Murong exploded with fury at the mention of 100,000.

”If you have a problem with it, you can take me to court,” Brother Fei shrugged. ”But let me remind you, we lent the money through proper channels. The contract is right here. Even if you go to court, you’ll still have to repay according to the contract. And a friendly tip: the time it takes for you to sue me and fight the case is also covered by the contract. The debt increases by 200% every day.”

Murong nearly fainted from anger. She had only borrowed 5,000, but a month later, she supposedly had to repay 100,000. This was a company of bandits!

”No problem. 100,000 it is,” Ye Xiu said. ”Give me the bank account number. I’ll make the transfer. Also, write up a proof of repayment.”

”This...” At his words, the confident smile on Brother Fei’s face vanished.

In his mind, for someone like Murong who had to take out a high-interest loan for a mere 5,000 yuan, coming up with 50,000 was already her absolute limit. That’s why he threw out the mountain of 100,000, planning to crush her spirit and then propose his condition: she could pay with her body. He never expected that the man Murong brought with her seemed to be loaded. But at this point, he was out of tricks. His only option was to find another girl for Brother Meng!

”Xiao Kang, give him your Chaoxin payment QR code. Xiao Hu, you write the proof of repayment,” Brother Fei said irritably.

”Sure!”

Xiao Kang immediately took out his phone and showed Ye Xiu the Chaoxin payment QR code.

Meanwhile, Xiao Hu skillfully wrote out a proof of repayment, signed it, and stamped it.

After Ye Xiu scanned the code and transferred 100,000 yuan, he put the document away.

”The money’s arrived. You can go now,” Xiao Kang said after confirming the transfer had come through.

”No rush,” Ye Xiu said. ”Murong has paid her debt to you. But you haven’t paid her for her medical bills and emotional distress.”
