Medical and Martial God

Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Clearing the Injustice

”Murder! Someone’s been murdered...”

The hooligans finally snapped out of their stupor, panicking and running for their lives. They were just street thugs, good for starting brawls or preying on honest folk, but none of them had ever witnessed a real murder. Instantly, the entire rabble tried to retreat the way they had come.

However, at that exact moment, ten men in black masks appeared on the other side of the bridge. With a single stab, they killed the first hooligan who tried to flee.

Seeing this, the rest of the hooligans froze in their tracks. In an instant, the group of thugs found themselves trapped on the bridge between the ten masked men and twenty of the estate’s servants.

”Spare us...” one of the thugs cried out, dropping to his knees.

Instantly, the others threw down their weapons, kneeling and howling for mercy. This was the power of deterrence. Qin Qing’s side only had thirty-one people against several hundred, but the moment blood was spilled, these inexperienced thugs were so terrified that they lost all will to resist.

”Should we kill them?” Chloe asked.

Qin Qing thought for a moment. Ultimately, she couldn’t bring herself to do it. ”Take one hand from each of them and let them go,” she said.

”As you command!”

Standing on the bridge, Zhu Xiaowen was petrified. Good heavens! Are all of Ye Xiu’s people this ruthless?

When the Qin Family heard the screams, they all rushed out to see what was happening, nearly fainting from fright.

”M-murder... Qin Qing... they... they’ve killed someone...” Qin Anruo stammered, shaking.

”What do we do? We took so much stuff. They’re not going to kill us too, are they?” Qin Junyi asked in terror.

At his words, the Qin Family’s terror intensified.

”Quick, load everything into the car! Let’s go!” Qin Fugui urged, his mind still fixated on getting away with the goods.

Just then, Chloe ran over, sword in hand. ”Are you looking to die?” she asked coldly.

The members of the Qin Family shuddered.

Qin Fugui mustered his courage. ”I am Qin Qing’s grandfather. How dare you speak to me like that?”

”The Young Master has given an order: anyone who enters the island without permission is to be killed without mercy.” Chloe pointed her sword at Qin Fugui. ”I held back before because you are the Young Madam’s family,” she said coldly. ”But now that you’ve dared to steal, I must carry out the Young Master’s orders.”

As she spoke, she lunged, aiming her sword at Qin Fugui’s throat.

”AHH—” Qin Fugui shrieked and collapsed to the ground. By a sheer fluke, he dodged Chloe’s lethal strike. Seeing that Chloe was willing to kill even Qin Fugui, the rest of the Qin Family were paralyzed with fear where they stood.

”Wait!” Qin Qing walked over and sighed. ”Put everything back exactly where you found it. Then all of you can go home. If a single item is damaged, or if you secretly take anything, I won’t be able to stop Ye Xiu when he gets back and finds out.”

As if they had received a royal pardon, the Qin Family hurriedly carried everything back into the villa, carefully returning each item to its original place.

Just as they were about to leave, Ye Xiu returned.

”You’ve all really shown me the meaning of ’family’,” Ye Xiu said, glaring at them.

”Brother-in-law, what are you talking about? I don’t understand,” Qin Anruo said, putting on a brave face. ”We heard you were in trouble and came here specifically to help you.”

”Indeed. This is what we get for trying to help,” Qin Fugui said, feigning anger. ”I knew we shouldn’t have come.”

Shameless. Absolutely shameless. Ye Xiu was so angry he had to laugh. ”My house is full of smart devices. I saw and heard everything you did and every word you said inside through the remote surveillance on my phone.”

Qin Anruo and Qin Fugui were struck dumb. The rest of the Qin Family were seized with terror.

”Ye Xiu...” Qin Qing clutched his hand, her expression pleading. ”They’re still my family, after all.”

”Then tell them to get lost.” Ye Xiu was utterly disappointed in the Qin Family.

Qin Qing quickly gave her family a look.

The Qin Family members took to their heels and fled. Qin Fugui, who was nearly eighty, actually ran the fastest, leaving Ye Xiu speechless.

”Brother Ye...” Zhu Xiaowen approached, her face etched with worry. ”Your friends killed so many people tonight. I’m afraid you won’t be able to stay in the country. The Zhu Family has an international shipping business. We can smuggle you to the Blood Realm.”

In truth, Zhu Xiaowen had come with the permission of the Zhu Family elders. It was a massive gamble on their part—a bet that Ye Xiu would survive this crisis. If they won, the Zhu Family would earn the friendship of Ye Xiu, a Divine Doctor and a Great Grandmaster. If they lost, the Zhu Family would likely be dragged down with him.

”A friend in need is a friend indeed. Xiaowen, I consider you a true friend,” Ye Xiu said, patting her shoulder. ”Don’t worry. No one will punish me for this, so I don’t need to flee.”

Zhu Xiaowen was stunned. She turned to Qin Qing and whispered, ”Is it inappropriate for me to point out that he’s bragging right now?”

Qin Qing chuckled. ”He’s not bragging.”

In truth, Qin Qing had no idea why Ye Xiu wouldn’t face legal consequences for the killings either.

”Oh!” Zhu Xiaowen, now relieved, said, ”In that case, I’ll head home.”

”Alright,” Ye Xiu nodded.

As Zhu Xiaowen made her way home, she was shocked to find that the corpses at the head of the bridge, the hooligans with their severed hands, and even the hands themselves had all vanished. She was aghast. How could they have cleaned everything up in just a few minutes?

Ye Xiu and Qin Qing returned to the villa. Ye Xiu sat on the sofa and dialed Ye Tianming’s number.

”Ye Xiu?” Ye Tianming’s tentative voice came through the phone.

”The Mo Family has been annihilated. Will you be able to sleep tonight?” Ye Xiu asked coldly.

The line went silent for a moment before the call was disconnected.

At the Ye Family estate, Ye Tianming’s hand, still holding the phone, was trembling. His face was as pale as a corpse. In fact, half an hour earlier, he had received a series of photos from an unknown number. At the time, he had wondered who could possibly have the power to wipe out the entire Mo Family. Now he knew.

Ye Tianming leaned back against the sofa, tilting his head back with a look of utter despair. ”One wrong move, and the entire game is lost. The Ye Family... is finished!” At that moment, he was consumed by regret for driving Ye Xiu and his mother out of the Ye Family all those years ago.

Ye Tianming wasn’t the only one losing sleep that night. Countless people across the country were sleepless.

Through the efforts of the Ghost Doctor, Mo Luo, Gong Jin, and others, a media storm had erupted at eight o’clock that evening. The internet, television, radio, and every other conceivable media outlet were flooded with videos and evidence of the Ming Family framing Ye Xiu, alongside countless posts and articles demanding justice for him. The news even appeared as pop-up notifications in various gaming and novel apps.

Combined with word of mouth, almost ninety percent of the country learned overnight that Ye Xiu had been framed all those years ago. As a result, all those who had once cursed, beaten, or humiliated Ye Xiu now felt a sickening regret, as if they had eaten shit.
