Medical and Martial God

Chapter 85: Chapter 85: Beating Them Till They Doubt Their Existence

Seeing that Song Penghui was ignoring their advice and acting willfully while the disciples of the Vajra Sect had already made their move, the gray-haired elder and the others knew any further persuasion was futile. They could only silently pray that Ye Xiu would withstand the assault and not be beaten to death.

However, just then, everyone’s eyes suddenly widened, their faces filled with shock and terror. They watched as Ye Xiu, all on his own, protected Zhu Xiaowen and Yun Lan while single-handedly fighting over a hundred disciples from the Vajra Sect.

One kick per person!

Each one was kicked precisely into one of the goals on the soccer field. Not a single disciple from the Vajra Sect could withstand even one of Ye Xiu’s moves.

”Sect Leader Song, you’re in big trouble now,” the gray-haired elder said with undisguised glee.

The other elders were also smiling brightly. Among the hundred-plus disciples of the Vajra Sect, there were members of every rank from First to Seventh Grade, yet even the Seventh Grade practitioners were sent flying by Ye Xiu’s kicks.

What does this mean? It meant that Ye Xiu’s strength was at least at the Eighth Grade Grandmaster level!

”Impossible, this can’t be...” Song Penghui said, his face a mask of disbelief. ”He’s only twenty-six years old. How can someone so young be an Eighth Grade Grandmaster?”

”Actions speak louder than words,” the gray-haired elder said with a shrug. ”In my opinion, Ye Xiu’s strength is probably greater than most of ours. Even you, Sect Leader Song, would likely have to rely on your defense and win a battle of attrition to defeat him.”

”He’s no match for me!” Song Penghui said coldly before leaping toward the spectator stands.

He was going to beat Ye Xiu down personally. Only by doing so could he reclaim the dignity he had lost today. Seeing Song Penghui himself take action, the Vajra Sect disciples, who had been charging at Ye Xiu like moths to a flame, hastily retreated. Meanwhile, the disciples from the other families and sects were buzzing with excitement.

The Medicine King was crossing disciplines to challenge an Eighth Grade Grandmaster of Ancient Martial Arts. Even if he lost, it would be a story Ye Xiu could boast about for the rest of his life!

At that moment, Song Penghui, standing one point nine meters tall with a broad, brawny build, resembled a shaved bear as he charged and leaped up the steps toward Ye Xiu. When he was only three steps away, Song Penghui jumped into the air, his hand swinging in a fierce slap aimed at Ye Xiu’s face.

A slap to the face! Only by slapping his face can I regain my dignity! After all, I’m slapping the face of Medicine King Xuanse!

However...

BANG!

While Song Penghui was still in mid-air, his palm still some distance from Ye Xiu, Ye Xiu suddenly moved. He lifted his leg and kicked Song Penghui squarely in the chest. Then, under everyone’s stunned gaze, Song Penghui went flying backward toward the soccer field. He sailed through the air until he landed inside one of the goals.

Another goal!

”This...” The moment Song Penghui flew into the goal, the entire soccer field fell silent.

One move! He sent an Eighth Grade Grandmaster flying with a single kick! Everyone felt as if they were dreaming; it was just too surreal. The top figure of the medical world had just shown up and taken out a Grandmaster from the Ancient Martial Circle in a single move!

”Ahhhh! Ye Xiu, you’ve gone too far! I’m so infuriated!” Song Penghui remained stunned for a full minute before snapping back to reality, his face burning with humiliation and rage. He then charged toward Ye Xiu again like a madman. When he had attacked Ye Xiu before, he had held back, worried that his attack power was so great he might accidentally kill him. This time, he would use his full strength.

”It seems it was unfair for me to fight you from up there,” Ye Xiu remarked as he saw Song Penghui charging again. He leaped from the very top of the stands, landing on the field below. When Song Penghui closed the distance, Ye Xiu lifted his leg for another kick.

And so, Song Penghui was kicked into the goal again.

Everyone present was once again astonished. Previously, Ye Xiu was positioned above him while Song Penghui had to charge upward, putting him at a disadvantage. Furthermore, Song Penghui might have underestimated his opponent in their first exchange. Therefore, being kicked away once wasn’t enough to truly prove Ye Xiu’s strength.

This time, however, Ye Xiu had decisively taken down Song Penghui with a single kick. What’s more, the gray-haired elder and the others hadn’t even been able to see the trajectory of Ye Xiu’s kick. This meant Ye Xiu’s attack speed far surpassed that of an Eighth Grade Grandmaster.

A Great Grandmaster?

HISS! At this thought, everyone drew a sharp breath. Has the leader of the medical community crossed over to become the leader of the Ancient Martial Circle as well?

”Ahhhh...” Song Penghui charged yet again.

”Are you really that headstrong?” Ye Xiu asked in surprise.

”Divine Doctor Ye, Sect Leader Song cultivates a type of Horizontal Kung Fu. His defense is said to be invincible. Even the Great Grandmaster Mo Qingxuan could only defeat him through attrition. I’m afraid it will be very difficult for you to win,” the gray-haired elder reminded him.

”I see!” Ye Xiu said in a moment of realization.

And so, as Song Penghui charged at him once more, Ye Xiu kicked out again. This kick didn’t send Song Penghui flying. It merely forced him back seven or eight steps.

PFFT!

After stumbling back, Song Penghui sprayed a mouthful of blood and sank weakly to one knee, his expression haggard.

”This is invincible defense? It’s just so-so,” Ye Xiu commented.

Hearing this and seeing Song Penghui trembling on the ground, a chill ran down everyone’s spines. They weren’t blind. They could all see that Ye Xiu’s kick had severely injured Song Penghui.

HISS!

Everyone gasped again. Oh my god! Song Penghui, hailed as the foremost practitioner of Horizontal Kung Fu in the nation’s Ancient Martial Circle, possessed an absolute defense that not even Great Grandmasters could breach. Yet he had been seriously injured by a casual kick from Ye Xiu?

”Th-that is, Divine Doctor Ye, h-how did you do it?” the gray-haired elder stammered.

The others all turned to look at Ye Xiu. They were desperate to know how he had done it, too. This defied all logic!

”It’s quite easy, actually. You just have to use the ’Striking a Bull Through a Mountain’ technique,” Ye Xiu explained in detail. ”There are two types of Horizontal Kung Fu: one strengthens the skin and bones, and the other involves cultivating a special kind of Inner Strength, and its Martial Prowess coats the body’s surface to form a type of protective shield. But regardless of the type, the defense is only strong on the outside. If you ignore the surface and send your attack power directly into the opponent’s body to damage their internal organs, you can easily break through any Horizontal Kung Fu.”

The gray-haired elder and the others were left dumbfounded. Ye Xiu made it sound simple, but they knew it wasn’t. At the very least, it was something they couldn’t do.

”Alright, you can all go about your business. I just came to watch the excitement,” Ye Xiu said with a smile.

Heh! You’ve already trounced the strongest one, Song Penghui, so what’s the point of us competing?

”Divine Doctor Ye, I believe you are the most suitable person to be the leader of Jin Ye City’s Ancient Martial Circle,” the gray-haired elder proposed.

As soon as he said this, everyone except the members of the Vajra Sect was tempted. Ever since the Mo Family was annihilated, Jin Ye City’s Ancient Martial Circle had lacked a Great Grandmaster to keep order. If a powerful outsider came to Jin Ye City to cause trouble, they, the local powers, would likely be unable to stop them.

Ye Xiu’s strength was clearly at the Great Grandmaster level, and he was also the top figure in the medical field. Making him the leader of Jin Ye City’s Ancient Martial Circle couldn’t be more appropriate.

”Divine Doctor Ye, we are willing to acknowledge you as our leader.”

”Please, you must agree.”

”As long as you agree, everyone in the Jin Ye City Ancient Martial Circle will obey your every command without question.”

The heads of the major families and sects all began to earnestly persuade him.
