Chapter 54: Chapter 54: The Origin of Billions in Wealth

”Ye Xiu, I’m asking you one last time. Are you truly not going to show me some respect?” Xue Wanchun slowly stood up, his aura climbing rapidly as he locked onto Ye Xiu. ”On my turf here in Jin Ye City, no one has ever dared to disrespect me unless they were asking to die!” He was using his power to intimidate Ye Xiu, strong-arming him into letting the Ming Family off the hook.

”Why are there always so many self-righteous fools in this world?” Ye Xiu said, slowly standing up with his head still bowed. The killing intent he had been suppressing was finally unleashed, crashing down on Xue Wanchun like an awakened primordial beast. The aura Xue Wanchun had locked onto Ye Xiu shattered instantly as if it were made of paper. Overwhelmed by Ye Xiu’s killing intent, Xue Wanchun’s own aura was forcefully driven back into his body.

”You...” At that moment, the arrogant and self-assured expression on Xue Wanchun’s face twisted into shock. The sheer pressure of Ye Xiu’s killing intent forced him back down into his seat, and he found he couldn’t even stand up again.

”A mere Eighth Grade Grandmaster dares to act so presumptuously before me? Did Ming Shixiong not tell you that I slaughter Grandmasters like pigs and dogs?” Ye Xiu glared down at Xue Wanchun, his killing intent boiling as if he were a primordial titan staring down at an ant.

”A Great Grandmaster... You’re actually a Great Grandmaster?” Xue Wanchun stammered, his eyes wide with a terror that was beyond words. Ye Xiu’s killing intent alone had been enough to immobilize him, an Eighth Grade Grandmaster. He couldn’t begin to fathom the true extent of Ye Xiu’s power.

”What?” Murong and Xing Feihu exclaimed in unison.

Xing Feihu quickly asked, ”Elder Xue, what are you talking about? Ye Xiu is just a doctor. Even if he knows some Kung Fu, how could he possibly be a Great Grandmaster in his twenties?”

Ming Shixiong wasn’t surprised; he had known all along that Ye Xiu was a Great Grandmaster. What he hadn’t expected was for Ye Xiu to be so domineering, daring to act so brazenly against the Master of the Tiger Roar Hall and the Patriarch of the Xing Family. A miscalculation!

”He completely immobilized me with his killing intent alone! If he’s not a Great Grandmaster, then what is he?” Xue Wanchun roared. He silently cursed Xing Feihu and Ming Shixiong for tricking him into confronting a Great Grandmaster. They had sent him here to die.

”What?” This time, Xing Feihu was truly stunned. Recalling what Ye Xiu had said, he whirled on Ming Shixiong. ”You knew! You knew all along that Ye Xiu was a Great Grandmaster, didn’t you?”

Ming Shixiong kept his head bowed, too terrified to speak. His silence was all the confirmation Xing Feihu and Murong needed: Ye Xiu was a Great Grandmaster, and Ming Shixiong had known from the very beginning. Heavens above! They looked at Ye Xiu, their minds reeling from the shock. A 26-year-old Great Grandmaster? He had just shattered the record for the youngest Great Grandmaster in history!

”You people really have some nerve. It’s been a long time since I’ve been this angry.” Ye Xiu’s killing intent grew stronger and more berserk, crashing down not only on Xue Wanchun but on Xing Feihu and Ming Shixiong as well.

SPURT! SPURT!

Without the Eighth Grade Grandmaster cultivation that Xue Wanchun possessed, Xing Feihu and Ming Shixiong were no match for the pressure. They were severely injured on the spot, coughing up mouthfuls of blood.

Xing Feihu panicked. Terror seized him, followed by utter despair. He had staked the entire Xing Family on this gamble, thinking he could use Xue Wanchun to eliminate Ye Xiu. But in front of Ye Xiu, Xue Wanchun couldn’t even muster the strength to make a move. The Xing Family... is finished!

”Divine Doctor Ye, I was goaded into this by Xing Feihu and Ming Shixiong! I offended you in a moment of utter foolishness. Please, be magnanimous and overlook the transgressions of a lesser man. Spare my life,” Xue Wanchun pleaded in terror.

”Betraying your companions that easily?” Disgust flashed in Ye Xiu’s eyes as he walked over to Xue Wanchun. ”You knew perfectly well that the Ming Family framed me all those years ago. You knew they were the masterminds who murdered my mother and grandparents, yet you still chose to help Xing Feihu and Ming Shixiong kill me.

”Scum like you who can’t distinguish right from wrong, who use their strength to break the law, and who betray their allies... I kill every single one I meet.”

Saying this, he struck out with his palm.

”No, don’t—” Xue Wanchun shrieked in terror as he saw Ye Xiu move.

But it was too late. Ye Xiu had already resolved to kill, and his palm landed squarely on Xue Wanchun’s Heavenly Spirit Lid. A series of dull, sickening cracks echoed from within Xue Wanchun’s body. Still seated and leaning back in his chair, he died.

”Ah...!” Seeing Ye Xiu kill a man, Murong, Xing Feihu, and Ming Shixiong cried out. Murong was purely in shock. She never imagined Ye Xiu would actually dare to kill someone, much less an Eighth Grade Grandmaster, with a single, casual palm strike. Xing Feihu and Ming Shixiong, however, were utterly terrified. Ye Xiu had killed Xue Wanchun. Weren’t they next?

”So, did you two think the way I killed Xue Wanchun looked cool?” Ye Xiu asked, turning his expressionless gaze toward Xing Feihu and Ming Shixiong. His killing intent hadn’t faded in the slightest.

”Ah! Divine Doctor Ye! Divine Doctor Ye, I was wrong! Please, I beg you, don’t kill me...” Xing Feihu cried out, his body trembling uncontrollably.

”Shut up!” Ye Xiu snapped.

”Gah...” Xing Feihu choked off his words and fell silent.

”I gave you and the Xing Family a chance. Not only did you fail to take it, but you also tried to take my life. Tell me, how am I supposed to spare you now?” Ye Xiu said coldly, walking over to Xing Feihu.

”Er... er-er-er...” Feeling Ye Xiu’s killing intent at such close range, Xing Feihu was so frightened he couldn’t form a coherent word.

”Bending your neck to sing to the sky?” Ye Xiu asked quizzically.

PFFT!

Murong couldn’t help but sputter with laughter. It was hardly the time for jokes, but Ye Xiu was just too ridiculous.

”Look what you did. You made all the killing intent I was building up disappear with that laugh,” Ye Xiu said with a deadpan expression.

Murong could only stare back, utterly baffled.

”Fine. I can choose not to kill you, and I can spare the Xing Family. But you did conspire with Xue Wanchun to murder me. You have to give me some sort of compensation for that, right? Otherwise, I’d have been angry for nothing,” Ye Xiu said, dragging a chair over to sit next to Xing Feihu with a grin.

Feeling the suffocating pressure and killing intent vanish, Xing Feihu slumped into his chair like a boneless heap, completely drenched in sweat. It felt as though he had just taken a stroll through the Ghost Gate and back.

After catching his breath, Xing Feihu said hastily, ”Name your price! I’ll give you anything you want.”

”I want all the assets of the Xing Family. That includes cash, stock shares, real estate, everything. Of course,” Ye Xiu added, ”you can keep your cars and the house you live in.”

”This...” Xing Feihu’s face went pale. Ye Xiu’s appetite was enormous; he wanted to swallow the Xing Family whole.

Murong was also taken aback. This is blatant robbery! But then again, perhaps Ye Xiu never intended to kill Xing Feihu at all. Maybe he was after the Xing Family’s fortune from the very start.

”You can either agree, or I can kill every last member of the Xing Family. The choice is yours,” Ye Xiu said with a placid smile.

”I agree!” Xing Feihu replied, his voice laced with bitterness. Money, no matter how much, couldn’t compare to life. Wealth could be earned again, but if his life was over, there would be no chance to stage a comeback.
