Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 90, The Second Dragon, Jade Dragon King • Tree of Life!

Translator: Silavin

With just one glance, Lu Fan’s heart began to race, and he started apologising in his mind to the Lord and Saviour System for his earlier transgression.

After all, this was another Mythical Grade Dragon Egg!

This Dragon Egg looked completely different from Xiao Ye’s Egg. It was entirely round and smooth, like a huge piece of jade, with patterns similar to wood carvings on its surface, resembling an exquisite work of art.

Dragon Egg: (Mythical Grade Special Item)
Description: Dragon Taming Skill can be used on it to tame it. Upon successful use, obtain Pet Dragon – Jade Dragon King – Tree of Life (Infant Form).

Although Lu Fan did not know what a Jade Dragon King’s abilities were, just from the name and item grade, he could tell that the Giant Dragon hatched from this Egg should be no less impressive than Xiao Ye!

[I’m going to be able to command two Dragons in the future!] Lu Fan did not want to waste a single moment and began using Dragon Taming on this Dragon Egg.

Lu Fan’s success rate with Dragon Taming was quite high. This time, he only used it three times before successfully taming the Dragon Egg.

Just like last time, a white light appeared on Lu Fan’s chest and shone on the Dragon Egg.

*Crack!* With a crisp sound, as the light faded, the Dragon Egg in Lu Fan’s hand cracked open. A Little Dragon sat in the Eggshell, crunching on its Eggshell.

Looking at this Little Dragon, Lu Fan was immediately surprised by how incredibly beautiful it was.

Although it had the appearance of a Giant Dragon, its entire body emitted a pure green light, like a piece of luminous jade.

When Xiao Ye was first born, she already showed a rough form. One ready for battle, with black Dragon Scales and flickering flames. She gave off a sense of violent beauty.

This Little Dragon was completely different. Its shape was similar to Xiao Ye, but the lines of its body were soft, more like a work of art than a powerful Giant Dragon.

This Little Dragon did not look particularly strong no matter how he looked at it. Its body was full of Life Force, and as the green light emanating from its body overflowed, Lu Fan felt incredibly comfortable basking in the glow.

[Could it be that this Giant Dragon is not combat oriented?] Lu Fan had some guesses, then cradled the Little Dragon and looked at its Attributes.

Jade Light (Active Skill, LV1) – Bless teammates with the Dragon Power of the Jade Dragon Race. Removes all Debuffs. Teammates receive Jade Blessing, increasing All Four Attributes and Combat Power by 30%. Effect is doubled if applied to those of the Dragon Race or teammates with Dragon Bloodline.

Current Devoured And Assimilated Skills: None

As Lu Fan had expected, the Jade Dragon King was not a Combat Specialised Dragon. Looking at the Attributes alone, compared to Xiao Ye, the Jade Dragon King had higher Mana but was much lower in the other three Attributes.

[This Attribute composition usually appears on Mages or Priests. This means the Jade Dragon King clearly belongs to something like the Priest Profession among the Dragon Race. Like Xiao Ye, since she is also part of the Dragon Race and possessing exceptional Dragon Bloodline, she is also Immune to all Debuffs.]

[Although it does not have Xiao Ye’s Black Dragon Skin and Black Dragon Physique, the Jade Dragon King possesses her own alternate version: the Jade Dragon King Physique. It specifically highlights how this Physique makes her immortal and indestructible! This means that the weakness of Human Priests having low Health Points does not exist for the Jade Dragon King.]

[It is true that the Jade Dragon King’s Endurance Attribute isn’t that high. She also doesn’t have a 70% Damage Reduction like Xiao Ye. But with an immortal body, the Jade Dragon King does not need to have a passive for Damage Reduction!]

Generally, in Dungeon Instances, Professions like Archers, Mages, and Priests are backliners, needing at least someone in the frontline to protect them to survive.

The Jade Dragon King did not need any protection at all. With her immortal and indestructible Physique, she could continuously provide healing to all teammates without needing any special care from the frontline. This made her the perfect backline healer.

As for Active Skills, the Jade Dragon King had two more than Xiao Ye when she was first born.

[Spring of Life should be similar to a Priest’s Healing Skill. After casting, it also has a period of continuous effect, increasing teammates’ Recovery in Health, Stamina and Mana. This is equivalent to not only healing her teammates, but also pouring oil to the flames, ‘fueling’ everyone. In other words, she allows her teammates to deal Damage more recklessly.]

[As for Jade Light, it seems to be a combination of a Priest’s Purify and my Dragon Encouragement. Not only does it remove Debuff Effects, but it also increased All Four Attributes by 30%, which was overpowered to say the least. A Priest’s Holy Blessing only increases their teammates’ Attributes by 10%, while the Jade Light directly tripled the effect of Holy Blessing!]

Although the Dragon Race all had Dragon Bloodline and did not need any Debuff Removal, and Lu Fan had gained high Debuff Resistance through Bloodline Sharing, it still was not complete Immunity. Therefore, the Debuff Removal would definitely be useful.

Moreover, when Lu Fan runs Dungeon Instances in the future, he might have teammates who do not have Dragon Bloodline and would struggle with Debuffs.

With Jade Light, any Debuff would be completely negligible for Lu Fan and his teammates.

[As for Jade Shield, it was obviously a Defense Buff that directly blocked three attacks. This can turn the tide of a battle at crucial moments.]

[The last Skill… Devour and Assimilate. This one is a little confusing. But after reading the description a few times, I think I gradually understand what it is used for. If I take my Ring of Resentment for example, which is a Level 15 Gold equipment, no matter how good it is, as my Level increases, I would inevitably have to replace it. However, I would be really reluctant since I really like its Resentment Qi Aura Skill. It would be a shame to give it up when changing the ring. In that case, I can give the Ring of Resentment to the Jade Dragon King, and let her Devour and Assimilate with it. This would retain the Resentment Qi Aura Skill under her ‘Current Devoured And Assimilated Skills’.]

[In fact, this makes any equipment I have sort of future proof. The Jade Dragon King could use these Skills herself, and as her Level increased, the Level of Resentment Qi Aura would also increase, greatly enhancing its effect. This way, although I would lose a piece of Gold equipment worth several tens of millions, at least the additional Special Effect and Skill of the equipment could be preserved. So, in the future, when changing equipment, I no longer need to worry about losing the benefits of my previous equipment.]

Apart from these powerful Skills, the main reason Lu Fan found the Jade Dragon King to be extremely powerful was that almost every Skill description ended with – ‘Effect is doubled if applied to those of the Dragon Race or teammates with Dragon Bloodline’.

Due to the existence of Bloodline Sharing, Lu Fan of course also possessed Dragon Bloodline. This effect was not only valid for Xiao Ye but also for him.

In other words, Lu Fan and Xiao Ye would enjoy double the healing effect, double the 30% Attribute increase, and double the three instances of Damage Negation.

In the future, when the Jade Dragon King learns new Skills, it was very likely that Lu Fan and Xiao Ye would also enjoy double the effects.

The Jade Dragon King was simply a super healer among the Dragon Race, incomparable to ordinary Human Priests.

For example, Xiao Ye’s Mana Attribute in her Destruction Dragon Form had already reached 5200 points. When Lu Fan used Dragon Encouragement on her, her Mana Attribute reached 7,800 points. What if the Jade Dragon King continued to use Jade Light?

With the double the bonus effect, increasing Attributes by 60%, 7,800 points would become 12,480 points! It would directly break into the five digits range! Just what kind of numbers were these!?

It was hard to imagine what kind of scene it would be when Xiao Ye uses Great Catastrophe with such extremely Buffed Attributes!

It could be said that the appearance of the Jade Dragon King directly doubled Lu Fan’s Combat Power, if not more!

What about when the Jade Dragon King’s Level increases further in the future? What if she learns new Buff Skills? What if her  Skill Levels increase further?

Lu Fan did not dare to imagine anymore. His heart was already pounding uncontrollably, unable to calm down for a long time.

While Lu Fan was excited, the Jade Dragon King had finished eating her Eggshell.

Looking at her now, Lu Fan found her much more docile than Xiao Ye.

After finishing the Eggshell, she only stretched her body a little. Her body, originally only palm-sized, did not extend much. It was several times smaller compared to Xiao Ye at birth.

It seems that, possibly due to breed differences, the Jade Dragon King’s body size was much smaller than Xiao Ye’s. Even when she reaches Level 15 and enters the Growth Period, she might only be about as tall as a Human.

The Jade Dragon King was certainly not as active as Xiao Ye was at birth. After eating the Eggshell, she crawled up Lu Fan’s arm and nestled on his shoulder, very much like a quiet girlfriend, not making a fuss.

Lu Fan thought, [Well, she’s not a Combat Specialised Dragon. Back then, Xiao Ye was already slaughtering Bloodthirsty Gray Foxes by now. It is hard to imagine this Little Dragon being so obedient after watching Xiao Ye.]

[Oh, right. Now that both the Jade Dragon King and Xiao Ye are my Pet Dragons, shouldn’t I introduce them to each other? After all, they would be comrades fighting together in the future. The Jade Dragon King would also need to cast Buffs on Xiao Ye. It is necessary for the two Dragons to meet and get to know one another early on.]
