Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 75, Legion of Destruction

Translator: Silavin

Meanwhile, when Xiao Ye displayed her Destruction Dragon Form, everyone on the platform could no longer sit still. They could see that this was another form, different from the Battle Form and World Destroyer Form.

Although they did not know what changes this form would bring to the Black Dragon’s Attributes, they knew that in this form, the Black Dragon should at least have undergone a dramatic change in one particular Attribute!

Moreover, seeing its fire-bathed form, most people had guessed that this form was likely more adept at Magic Attack.

[Is this what a Dragon truly is? One form can greatly enhance their Strength Attribute and Physical Attack, and another form can enhance their Mana and Magic Attack? This is too ridiculously strong!]

From the beginning of the major exam until now, Lu Fan had been repeatedly refreshing their view of the world. It was as though he was saying, ‘you think what I’ve shown is already strong, Ha! You think this is my full power? Sorry, I still have trump cards I haven’t used yet!’

Everyone was incredibly eager to see what kind of power the Black Dragon would unleash in this new form.

What shocked them was not just this.

After Xiao Ye transformed into her Destruction Dragon Form, Lu Fan did not hold back. He directly applied a Dragon Encouragement Buff to himself and Xiao Ye, causing Xiao Ye’s Mana Attribute to soar to 7200 points!

At the same time, Lu Fan waved his hand, and grey Resentment Qi enveloped Xiao Ye. It made the flames on her body flicker with an eerie green hue.

This was a Skill from Lu Fan’s Gold Grade ring – the Ring of Resentment, called Resentment Aura.

Resentment Aura (Active Skill) – can actively designate a teammate or oneself to gain Resentment Aura. After gaining Resentment Aura, Attacks and Skills released will be accompanied by Resentment Qi. Resentment Qi is capable of inflicting Negative Status Effects such as Negative Status Effects such as Poisoned, Weakness, Bleeding, Stun, Frenzy, and etc on the enemy)
Since he wanted Xiao Ye to unleash her full power, he applied all the Buffs he could to Xiao Ye, not just Dragon Encouragement, but also Resentment Aura.

The Great Cataclysm Skill enhanced with the Resentment Aura would be a true Great Cataclysm.

Even if someone could survive the power of Great Cataclysm, they would be tainted by the Resentment Aura, resulting in a series of Debuffs.

After applying all the Buffs to Xiao Ye, Lu Fan nodded with satisfaction and stepped into the Transport Array leading to the final floor of the Sky Scaling Tower.

With a pulling sensation, Lu Fan arrived at the hundredth floor, which was also the last thing to clear in this Nightmare difficulty major exam.

This floor was extremely spacious, more than ten times the size of the previous floors. It was also very simple, with only a solid ground, a chaotic sky, and boundaries, without any scenery.

In short, the whole ground for this floor was plainly laid out before Lu Fan, visible at a glance.

Not just Lu Fan, but as Lu Fan arrived, the true face of the final floor was also revealed to Qin Shanhai and the others.

Even though they knew the final floor would certainly be extraordinary, no one had imagined it would be this extreme.

A hundred metres away from Lu Fan, it was not just one or two, or even ten or twenty Monsters. It was not that simple. It was an Undead Legion, with the number of Monsters reaching around five hundred!

All the Monsters were of Undeads, either Zombies or Skeletons. Their armour and weapons were in ruins, but their strength was certainly not to be underestimated.

At the forefront were a hundred Undead Knights and Undead Swordsmen, each Monster being a Level 25 Terror Grade Boss with extremely high Attributes.

On the left and right flanks were a hundred Undead Archers and Undead Mages. Though their defence was low, they were also Level 25 Terror Grade Bosses with formidable Damage Output.

Who could withstand a volley of arrows and spells thrown at them?

These Level 25 Terror Grade Bosses were actually just the appetiser for this Undead Legion. The truly chilling part was yet to come.

Inside the Undead Legion’s formation were a hundred and fifty Undead Guards, clad in blood-red armour. They were Level 25 Nightmare Grade Bosses!

Not only the Undead Guards, but behind them were thirty Undead Guard Captains wearing black armour, already at Level 30.

Additionally, the Apocalyptic Headless Four Knights that appeared on the ninety-ninth floor were also among them, with Attributes and Levels identical to those on the ninety-ninth floor, all being Level 35 Nightmare Grade Bosses, having the Knight’s Oath Buff active, with ridiculously high Attributes.

The most eye-catching in this Undead Legion, however, was not the Apocalyptic Headless Four Knights, but the Giant Undead sitting on an iron throne at the very centre of the entire Undead Legion.

This Undead’s iron throne was carried by the Apocalyptic Headless Four Knights themselves. Its body was over five metres tall, larger than any other Monster in the Undead Legion.

Under the crimson armour and tattered cloak, only its exposed bone hands could be seen. While its head was deeply hidden in the helmet, with two points of ghostly green fire gleaming like will-o’-wisps.

Behind his iron throne was a great sword, ancient and murderous in design, flashing with a cold light.

Lu Fan directly cast an Appraisal Eye on it, and sure enough, it was a Level 40 Nightmare Boss called the World Destroyer Emperor, with strength even surpassing the Apocalyptic Headless Four Knights.

This World Destroyer Emperor sounded familiar to Lu Fan, and after careful thought, he recalled the origin of this Boss.

The textbooks had records of the World Destroyer Emperor. It was a Wilderness Boss with an Undead Legion under its command, called the Legion of Destruction. This Boss had once led the Legion of Destruction to conquer a small city in the Extremistis Country, establishing it as a map point called the World Destroyer Kingdom.

Later, experts from the Extremistis Country joined forces to level the area, and the World Destroyer Emperor and its Legion of Destruction were all slaughtered.

Although the Legion of Destruction was gone, the map of the World Destroyer Kingdom underwent changes, forming a Dungeon Instance. Now, it was the Ruined Kingdom, with the Apocalyptic Headless Four Knights as its Final Boss.

The Extremistis Country opened this Dungeon Instance to the public, and Profession Change Players from other countries who wanted to farm it had to pay huge fees. This naturally earned the Extremistis Country a lot of money, turning misfortune into blessing.

It was said that although the Final Boss of the Ruined Kingdom Dungeon Instance was the Apocalyptic Headless Four Knights, it has a Hidden Stage. If successfully triggered, the World Destroyer Emperor could be summoned.

Once the World Destroyer Emperor was killed, the Dungeon Instance rewards would be extremely generous. However, how to trigger the Hidden Stage was still unknown till this day.

It was unexpected that such a mysterious and powerful Boss would be used as the exam question for the final level of the major exam.

Although the original World Destroyer Emperor was a Level 80 Boss, much stronger than this replica…

But the level of this exam question’s World Destroyer Emperor was not low either. It was at Level 40. In terms of Skills, it should have copied about seventy to eighty percent of the original. Basically, whatever the original had, it should be able to do too.

Such a replica of the Legion of Destruction was enough to impact a relatively backward county. Yet, this was what got chosen to be placed in the final level of the major exam…

“This is insanity, Old Han has truly gone insane!” Bai Hengjian almost flipped the table, “The final question of the Nightmare difficulty major exam is a whole Legion of Destruction!? This is too outrageous!”

“The difficulty of this level has surpassed the Dungeon Instances that Second Profession Change Players can farm. If this setup appeared in a Dungeon Instance, it would require a team of Third Profession Change Players to farm it. Is this really something that should be prepared for students? Isn’t this sending our children to their deaths!?”

The other principals also nodded in agreement – using the complete Legion of Destruction as the final level was indeed a bit excessive.

However, Qin Shanhai remained relatively calm and comforted Bai Hengjian, “Principal Bai, you don’t need to be so agitated. Old Han is a renowned figure in the Education Board, he must have his considerations for setting it this way. If it wasn’t set to be this difficult, how could we distinguish the gap between Lu Fan and the other prodigies? Although this final level is indeed outrageous, if you think about it, Old Han had set it this way to probe the true strength of children as monstrous as Lu Fan. Doesn’t it seem reasonable now?”

Hearing Qin Shanhai’s explanation, Bai Hengjian suddenly felt it made some sense.

The level was abnormal because it was prepared for abnormal people in the first place!

Old Han was a madman when it came to setting and designing the major exam, but Lu Fan was a monstrosity as well?

A madman dealing with a monster. If thought in this manner, this made it seem reasonable.

Bai Hengjian calmed down a bit, then continued to watch the major exam live feed on the small screen.

He really wanted to see, now that Old Han had brought out even the Legion of Destruction, whether Lu Fan would finally feel some pressure.

In the previous ninety-nine levels, he had breezed through everything too easily. Now, facing Old Han’s trump card, he surely could not steamroll through, right!?

At this moment, inside the Sky Scaling Tower.

Lu Fan knew that what he was facing was the Legion of Destruction that had shocked the Extremistis Country years ago. Still, he didn’t feel any sense of anxiety. After all, it was just a Level 40 Nightmare Grade Boss, along with some small fry. Even if this Boss was a Level 45 Nightmare Grade Boss, he did not think he would have any issues.

Even if it was surrounded by countless High Level Nightmare Grade and Terror Grade Bosses as its guard, they still appear insignificant before a Giant Dragon.

Lu Fan did not move. Instead, he merely looked up at Xiao Ye in the sky and smiled, “Xiao Ye, are you ready?”

“Ang!” Xiao Ye let out a Dragon Roar, indicating she was already poised for action.

“Good!” Lu Fan shouted, pointing at the Legion of Destruction ahead, “Over there, lay down a Great Cataclysm! After we clear the major exam, let’s go home and eat Auntie’s cooking!”

“Ang!” Hearing about food, Xiao Ye, who had been battling for a long time, immediately became excited. She flapped her wings, rising high into the sky, then dove towards the Legion of Destruction.

In the process of diving, Xiao Ye’s body emitted countless flames, enveloping her body, making her look like the Sun about to crash to the ground.
