Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 500: Chapter 499: Giving You a Surprise

Listening to the busy tone on the phone, Belinda Swan’s smile cracked a bit, and she emanated a chilling vibe.

Nia Mitchell, I will let you be arrogant for now. But one day, you’ll realize you haven’t gained anything at all. HMPH! It hurts more once you’ve actually had something, right?

Thinking about this, Belinda Swan felt quite at ease.

After hanging up the phone, Nia Mitchell sat there, pouting and sulking.

She truly didn’t understand. How could there be someone like Belinda Swan in this world? She is despicable. She seems to derive pleasure from others’ misfortunes.

At this moment, the phone rang again. It was Evelyn Peary.

”Hello? Evelyn.”

Nia Mitchell perked up, a smile spreading across her face.

”Where’s my brother, Sister-in-law?”

On the phone, Evelyn Peary no longer sounded low-spirited. Her mood had improved considerably, and her voice conveyed a sense of ease. These past few days, because of the situation with Yancy Hastings, she had seemed to be wilting. Now that she had regained her energy, it was quite a relief.

”He’s in his Office Room. What’s up? Do you need him for something?”

If she wanted to reach Maxwell, she could have called him directly. Why was she calling me?

”No, I’m just feeling a little elated. Sister-in-law, could you bring my brother to dinner at Madgar Pavilion tonight? We have some new dishes you could try.”

Evelyn Peary’s eyes curved into crescents as she smiled, feeling positively giddy as she sat in her chair.

”I’m not sure if he’ll come, but I can ask him. So... can you tell me what has you so happy?”

Hearing Nia Mitchell ask this, Evelyn Peary’s eyes gleamed with amusement.

”Well, this morning, Yancy Hastings called me out of the blue. He said he agreed to call off our engagement. Then, he hung up abruptly, saying he had to go to training. Since then, his phone has been unreachable.”

Although that was the case, his willingness to call off the engagement was definitely earth-shattering. Just recalling his words made her so happy she could hardly sit still.

”He agreed to call off the engagement?”

Nia Mitchell widened her sparkling eyes in surprise, finding it hard to believe.

No, this... this change is too fast, isn’t it? Previously, Yancy Hastings had been so obstinate. He even snubbed Maxwell’s words and insisted on marrying Evelyn Peary. How could he suddenly call and agree to it himself? Has he lost his mind? No, this is so strange.

”Yes, exactly! I find it strange too. But he’s busy with training right now. Once he’s done, he’ll go to the old family residence to call off the engagement.”

The mess he created is, of course, his to clean up. Wonderful! This whole ordeal is finally over.

”That’s great. I’ll tell your brother. He’ll definitely be happy for you.”

Upon hearing Nia Mitchell say this, Evelyn Peary instantly put on a look of distaste.

”He won’t. When has he ever been happy for me?”

That’s the biggest joke. Maxwell’s world only revolves around himself. Hmm... though maybe now there’s a little space for his sister-in-law. Ugh, never mind that. Anyway, I’m just so happy right now!

”Sister-in-law, remember to come with my brother, okay? I have a surprise for you two.”

As Evelyn Peary mentioned the surprise, her face beamed, and her eyes sparkled with delight. My brother will surely love this surprise. HAHAHAHA! Then, he’ll realize that his sister is the best, always looking out for him. Speaking of which, if I ask him for a large investment then, he’d probably be happy to just whip out a checkbook and sign it with a flourish, right?
