Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 495: Chapter 494: I Think This Group is About to Go Bankrupt

”Find another job.” Maxwell Peary calmly uttered these words, then gestured for her to get out.

”Maxwell Peary, you will regret this. Don’t come begging me then.”

After throwing down these harsh words, Sophia Moore turned around and left the CEO’s Office.

「Secretary Department」

Sophia Moore returned to her desk, packing her belongings with a gloomy face.

”Ms. Moore, what are you doing?”

This hardly looked like she was preparing for a promotion, given the expression she wore coming out of the CEO’s office. And here she was, packing her things. Was she about to get kicked out?

”I’m finding a better job!” Sophia Moore blurted out, repeating Maxwell’s exact words.

”It’s just MC, what’s so great about it? People like you can only serve others for a lifetime, working for others and tolerating their nonsense. Don’t feel so proud about working at MC. I bet this corporation is about to go bankrupt soon. With this sort of boss, it’s bound to!”

Sophia Moore exploded in anger, grabbed her things, and stormed off.

The moment she walked out of the CEO’s Office, Maxwell Peary dialed Phoebe Walker.

”Max...Young Master Peary?”

Phoebe Walker was at the hospital. Her father’s condition was worsening by the day, and she was more distraught than ever.

The once-proud Phoebe was now often reduced to tears.

”About what you told me before...”

”Young Master Peary...”

Phoebe Walker interrupted Maxwell Peary. She was hesitant about his hefty demands.

Fifty-fifty. That’s a significant split. How could she make a decision so quickly? If she were to clash with Sophia Moore, she definitely wouldn’t get half of everything. So, partnering with Maxwell Peary meant she was at a disadvantage. However, Sophia Moore’s attitude made her uneasy; it felt like Sophia had a major move up her sleeve, one that might leave her with nothing at all.

”Young Master Peary, can we renegotiate the fifty-fifty deal?”

Phoebe Walker sat in the hospital ward, her face pale and drawn.

During this time, none of the usual sycophants who used to fawn over the Walker Family had appeared.

The Walker Family was like a small boat adrift in a vast ocean, teetering on the verge of capsizing, with no shore in sight.

”What I wanted to say is, I can help you unconditionally.”

A cruel smirk touched Maxwell Peary’s lips. Sophia Moore, you think I’m not capable of anything? Then let me show you. This might be childish of him, but he couldn’t deny it felt fantastic!

”Unconditionally?”

Phoebe Walker couldn’t quite believe it. The rumored Young Master Peary was as notorious as a vampire; would he really engage in a losing deal? Was there some trickery involved?

”What do you mean, Young Master Peary?”

She was a little flustered, having never dealt with such matters before.

”Take it literally. You could even say I’m feeling generous.”

Maxwell Peary smirked. He planned to deny Sophia Moore what she wanted. But would he let Phoebe Walker off so easily? Of course not. He had a hundred ways to seize everything the Walker Family owned. He’d let Phoebe Walker get her hands on it all first, then slowly, piece by piece, take it away. Wasn’t that the most satisfying feeling?

At that thought, he seemed like a demon exuding a dark aura.

Initially, he’d shown some restraint, but he soon completely forgot Nia Mitchell was standing nearby.

Nia Mitchell was indeed frightened. This Maxwell Peary was truly like a bloodthirsty demon, terrifying to behold.
